Comfy thread.
I started growing this little bamboo plant. Anyone have any advice on how to take care of it?

Is BBQ comfy? I bought a smoker two weeks ago and I'm going to slow cook a 7 pound hunk of beef for 18 hours later this week.
That's pretty comfy desu
Sometimes I want to grow one of these but then remember that I always close off my room in total darkness so rip.
Most important thing with Bamboo and most plants in the house is not too overwater, from my experience they're very durable plants so it'll be hard to kill them. If you keep them in the right conditions they should be fine
Do you have a windowsil? I think this might be exactly what you need. Let some light in and in turn grow the bamboo.
Thanks user.
I water once every 3 days or so. I heard that bamboo needs a lot of water though. Especially since it's fairly hot where I am.
Growing plants out of seeds is really comfy and satisfying for some reasom. There is nothing for weeks, months and then one morning little guy starts growing. It's a good dopamine increase activity.
Whenever it rains, I go outside and collect snails. I keep them for a couple of weeks feeding them lettuce and spraying their terrarium daily. Then I let them go.
not much to it, bamboo is invasive and very hardy. Water every now and again, some sunlight and keep the pandas away.
Those kamodo type grills are great for smoking and bbqing, but they suck when you want to make a steak or grill anything.
I'm from the UK and my garden this year was covered in invasive bamboo so I doubt it'll be too hard to kill the plant indoors. I don't keep house plants anymore since I'm growing Lilies/Roses/Freesias/Crocosmia/Gladioli at the moment and none of them really suit being house plants.
Bamboo are amazing plants but never plant them into the ground, with the exception of the Phyllostachys nigra (really tall black bamboo) i've tried to remove all of it from my garden
Okay. I had a plan to move it into a bigger pot in the backyard when it was big enough. I won't put it in the ground.
They're really good container plants but it's almost comical how fast they spread in the garden if left unchecked. Gardening is a really comfy hobby and hope you enjoy the bamboo
Thanks user. I hope your garden thrives as well.
I've had a bamboo plant for years and years and it's doing just fine with weekly watering. It's huge and possibly rootbound by now but it's still looking great. I don't even have it by a windowsill.
I like to cook but container gardening is probably comfier. I have tomatoes, lettuce, green and red bell peppers, beans, a bunch of herbs, flowers and I'm trying garlic and okra this year. I'm not sure how those will do.
Are you growing anything now user?
A proper ceramic kamado-style smoker can actually get really really hot, hot enough to sear steaks and even bake pizzas.
I have a Weber Smokey Mountain, which is great for low and slow cooking, but useless for grilling anything quickly (I mean you could use the bottom portion only but I have a kettle grill for that).
Several trees, ginseng, some dracias, lavender, some plants i don't know how to translate to english, etc... Not everything starts growing though, which makes it that more satysfing. The plants that do though, are strong bastards.
OP here.
I've also been looking into learning woodwork and leatherwork. Any anons have any idea where to start?
I've watched YouTube videos and perused /diy/ but still lost.
i got a bonsai elm a few months ago, along with a "sensitive plant". very comfy carrying them home on the bus and having all the women complimenting my plants.
My oregano started growing!
Hey, that's pretty cool
tfw I need to add "oregano" at the end of this post
I fell for the air purifying plants meme and got 2 peace lilys 3 aloes and an English ivy. On an uncomfy note I recently killed the lillys because I forgot to water. I'm not that great at plants.
Noice. Yt is a good start but a lot of those projects are complicated and need extra tools. Personally I started just making simple useful shit around the house... 2x4 workbench, plywood counter extension, shoe rack, poster frames. All I have is a circular saw, a speed square, and a drill.
Cool. I think I'll start by making a workbench. It seems like a fairly simple and useful thing to make.
I do leather work
Start with small projects
watch the tandy leather youtube vids
get a couple of books
its a bamboo dude. Its even easier to care than a fucking cactus
you can do an easy plant watering automation with a moisture sensor and solenoid valves
use an arduino as the brains
I quite like to do small drawings of random shit i can see on post-it notes, i have made quite a collection of them
Nice OP. I started growing one myself a while back. Try not to use tap water though. Certain chemicals in the water discolor it and make it yellow. Use purified water to keep the green
Here is my favorite plant. It is a little carnivorous plant and it even came with a baby. It looks so perfect, except for one dead looking leaf that got attacked by slugs.
