Mix these in a liter of water and sip it throughout the day. The apple cider vinegar and lemon are optional.
You can also do this if you feel lightheaded, weak, dizzy, nauseous, etc., on shorter water fasts. Don’t do this while intermittent fasting.

Snake Juice Immediately with no food in your stomach, and its with 2L. of water check out the recipe. You can do it without snake juice but you will feel like shit, snake juice is just sodium and potassium so you feel good while fasting. So I've fasted for 4 days, morning of 5th now, last 36h have been a dryfast.
I've lost 5kg so far, but if at all possible, id like to lose 1.2 more TODAY, which i know is kinda crazy.

I like this guy. I like his data driven approach. I think I'm gonna limit myself to 48's now, until I can get more research. Maybe Dr. Panda's lab will come out with more stuff, but there don't seem to be that many people doing research on fasting these days.

Some of the concerns are addressed in snake juice fasting. Refreshing syndrome seems easy enough to avoid, and SJ fixes the mineral loss problem. I wonder if that effects the rate of lean body mass lost. I want more research on this stuff, damn it!

I felt great at hour 30. It depends on your activity level. I don't mean bust your ass. I mean stay actually involved in other things so you don't obsess over food. Once I closed that fast around day 4, OMAD was fucking simple. Just had to find things to do. Also opened my eyes to how much time I was spending on food prep and eating. Dropped over 30 pounds in 30 days, and I'm well aware the first 11 were water.

Your First Elia M. chart is obtuse. What are the hollow circles and filled circles. How about connecting the dots for individuals? Were these active or sedentary people before the study? How were electrolytes handled? More questions than answers here.

The German chart is similarly sparse on the critical details of the fasting and makes the incredible claim that 300 Kcal/day causes no reduction in basal Metabolic rate. Tell that to all the biggest loser contestants and every adult human that has followed a dietitian's advice for the last 60 years.

I note that you appear to have switched from your original claim that fasting becomes evil when it exceeds 48+ hours and now you are leaping to poorly defined 30 day fasts for your bogey man. Does this mean 72 hour fasts are ok now?

The biggest losers are all shown using high carb calorie deficit diets on the TV show and you now are somehow claiming that they were water fasting. Huh? Regarding your alarmist belief that any net loss of protein is putting one foot in the grave, here is a little thought experiment for you.

If you were a 300 pound 5' 4'' woman, of which there are many in our society, and you successfully reduced your weight to 110 pounds via whatever method you choose; how many pounds of protein do you think you would lose during that weight loss?

To be more specific, If you were young enough to have your skin tighten up during your weight loss would you expect the amount of protein in your largest organ (skin) to stay the same or go down as your square footage of skin also drops as you lose 2/3s of your original weight?

The answer is obviously you would be overjoyed to to see your skin tighten up and have that protein so employed, recycled and then excreted as you approached normal weight. Losing some protein doesn't seem so scary any more does it?

Here we find Phinney moving the goal posts again. His study on hypoglycemia is looking at the 5:2 BBC calorie reduction diet which at the beginning of this video Phinney declared to be AOK. But now this study finds that trying to coordinate medications with Calorie reduction diets is tricky. Who is surprised here? This is why many practitioners find that multi-day fasting combined with steady monitored reduction in drugs is the best practice. What WE learn here is the Dr Phinney blames fasting for regimes that are not fasting and that what he recommends can change in the length of 20 minute video, apparently without him noticing.

Refeeding Syndrome
Here we learn that Dr Phinney almost killed some patients by pumping a pure glucose TPN into the bloodstream of fasted patients without monitoring their Potassium and Sodium levels. Rather then encourage people to supplement with Sodium salts and Potassium salts when fasting and refeeding Dr Phinney prefers to alarm people with tales from world war II POWs and medical malpractice.

So guys, i've just begun OMAD after a few weeks of 16:8, and it was great. Only problem is, after eating the meal, i basically shat it out just 12 hours later (although it could have been another meal, can't say for sure, but it was a pretty big shit so i'm assuming it wasn't).

But really, for anyone here, protein loss is the main concern. Possibly metabolic slowdown as well, and the two are connected. Do you really believe the protein losses from the first 3-30 days will be made up primarily of loose skin?

A little over 6', 184 before refeeding, so we'll see how heavy I get when all the water/glycogen weight returns, but many are in the same boat. We're not hundreds of pounds over weight and diabetic, we want to cut fat as effectively as possible. This is because body fat is unhealthy, and because we want to maintain lean body mass, and then add to it by slowly lean bulking and lifting weights. Because building muscle and strength is the best protection against many injuries and the frailty of old age. And any exercise that gets the blood pumping is good for the brain and heart as well.

You make some good points, but most of us know about refeeding and electrolytes. And his concerns about lean muscle mass seem pretty relevant. The facts are that the experimentation on fasting hasn't not been thorough enough to give it the go-ahead from a medicinal perspective. And yes, pharmaceutical corporations and food companies and many others who fund research have NO reason to fund research into fasting. So I doubt we're going to see a large study on proper fasting.

Start off with 1 teaspoon of baking soda in 1l of water. Drink that over an hour. Then rehydrate with snake juice. I just did this after 4 day dry fast and feel great. Haven't eaten yet. DO NOT start a refeed on the day of your presentation, either come off 2 days before or continue on snake juice through it if you don't know how a refeed will affect you.

My libido always drops heavy during fasts so it's a good time to start.

Which you will never see, since the medical establishment has declared research into fasting "unsafe to the point of being life threatening and completely unethical".

Whether this is out of an excess of caution over potential violations of their Hippocratic oath, or the desire to protect pharmaceutical revenues from loss of massive profits in the event that fasting in some form or other is proven to reverse obesity, type 2 diabetes and other related diseases is unclear.

I hate it how pushing past day 3 is so difficult. All I think about is food. However, it seems incredible that there are a lot of people there who think something like 16:8 is insanely difficult. I can't even understand how being 16 hours without eating anything can be borderline impossible for a lot of people. It's mind-boggling to think that there was a time when I was one of them. Now I'm whining of post 48h pit.

19th day water fasting checking in. None of my jeans fit anymore. 81kg 6'1, still have a bit more fat that I would like. Didn't drink nearly as much 'snake juice' as Cole recommends, but I have a few shakes of lite-salt and like 4 grinds of Himalayan pink salt every day now which is still less than half a teaspoon. I didn't even start taking it until like a week in.

Workouts have been going fine, doing 3-4 sets of most main lifts 4 days a week (bench, squat, pullups, ohp), squat is low weight as I feel exhausted doing it and recovery will take way longer if I tear up muscle tissue without having any protein.

The closer I get to my goal, the less motivation I have. I’m just about doing OMAD and my weight just fluctuates within two or three kilos.
I’ve lost 30 kg so I know what I need to do, but it’s like there’s some switch that says I look good while dressed, so why not just take it easy.
Writing this blog so I can convince myself to do it properly again and get rid of the rest.

Obesity wasn't a problem in the UK even 20 years ago, so what doctors were taught about it then and since is the same tired old CICO bullshit that is not effective long term for more than 90% of patients seeking help.

Surgical treatments like stomach stapling, gastric bands and excision of 90% of the stomach may help to reduce weight, but they only do so through invasive and dangerous techniques and EVEN THEN the people undertaking these procedures rarely return to a healthy weight since these surgical procedures only deal with the effects of the problem, not the root cause, which is insulin / leptin / ghrelin resistance and bad dietary habits.

Fundamentally, people are conditioned to trust their doctors, but with regard to obesity and its related conditions, doctors simply cannot be trusted.

Fortunately, I was well aware of this when I went to mine and only booked the appointment to confirm my home monitoring of blood pressure had the same results as her more expensive equipment.

i have the same problem. i reached a goal weight of 70kg but it is obvious now i need to get to 65 if i want abs but whenever i refeed i am like, "i did not eat for 5 days so its okay to go ham for 1-2 days" then i am back at 70 again.

i think i need to switch to omad with a normal calorie deficit normie diet.
