Yes, it does matter, but only in fairly extreme circumstances. As long as your dick is within around 1 standard deviation of the mean in length and girth, the majority of women will be fine with it. It can be a problem if you're smaller than that, and there are women out there that do have higher expectations, but both of these situations aren't something the average guy will have to worry about.
What they should worry about is stuff more within their control:
