United states military

hello anons i am probably going to join the military but im not sure what branch to go into, deciding between the army and marines, i want to do it mostly because of the honor and partially because i want to become disciplined
i heard that the main difference is army is better funded, more room to grow (uninterested in growth), and is more gentle with new recruits,

Marines get the most respect but get ready to work with a shitload of Martinez’s and Rodriguez’s

have fun going into a pointless war for israel lol

bro if u want honor and discipline join the french foreign legion

go to Jow Forums they have a dedicated thread for people interested in enlisting in the military
search for /meg/

the marines will be extra shitty for no reason, but if you're the kind of retard who likes to munch on crayons uncle sam has a place for you.

army only digs holes
marines are bullet fodder

Yeah die for Israel Goyim

Just join the Navy

Navy be
A corpsmen

Chair Force.

being in the military is the same as being on welfare but you can make a good resume afterwards. Normies think ur some hardass when really every MOS just sits around most of the time

is the navy really worth it? my father served them and ive never heard anyone bad talk him (aside from my mother who divorced him)
at least ill be doing something rather than jacking off and browsing a Vietnamese carpet weaving website
so after BT its just chill times (depending on what you are assigned) or..?

what would you recommend user?
eh i dont really give one about race or ethnicity as long as they arent niggers and spics (thugs)

You shouldn’t join a branch because of “honor.” That shit fades away very quickly in the modern military, seeing as 99% of us don’t see combat and the ones that do are fighting against sand niggers who are vastly inferior in a combat sense.

If you’re going to join, join the branch that will benefit you the most when you get out. If you aren’t a rock you can get a good job with the navy or Air Force that gives you marketable skills. Sitting around in the barracks waiting to be tasked and going on shitty field ops with no purpose is what you’ll be doing in the marines if you join.

>join for honor and discipline
>be disappointed immediately upon discovering there will be no honor because you will dick around on field ops for 4 years, any deployment will be the same but with more brass dicking you around
>discipline developed after boot
>realize you signed away 4 years of your life away
>those 4 years comprise mostly of involuntary homosexual activity, camping with tardfuckers, and an occasional workout
>any female you meet during your stay anywhere is getting stuffed by half the company on a regular basis
>your only solace is booze, strippers, and watching boots fuck their lives up in ways you didn't know a life could be fucked up
>sometimes you do a cool thing
>there is plenty of horsefuckery at every turn so when you do get to do a cool thing, you briefly think about it all being worth it
>the next thought that enters your thread is how long you have to wait until you can go blackout in the barracks and forget that bullshit

join the marines you'll be swimming in pussy! best time of your life!

>he wants to be a chess piece for the rich man's starcraft

My most postive straight edge friend is geniunely depressed now because of how many fat people there are in the military. He says there's a nickname for these guys too but I forgot. Basically just don't be one of them

>If you’re going to join, join the branch that will benefit you the most when you get out. If you aren’t a rock you can get a good job with the navy or Air Force that gives you marketable skills
This. Get trained in something useful on the governments dime and then move on with your life.

its the merit of "being a marine" not the merit of actually being good at not dying
stop projecting user
im not looking to make it a career, im looking for it to change me into a better person because right now im lazy, disorganized, depressed, and i really cant think of something that will MAKE me do things

"being a marine" is just an ad campaign.
if you want to live a shittier life for four to six years just so you can complain about it later go on ahead

Join the Air Force. Wait for a good mos. Another option is the army since they have shorter contract options

> im looking for it to change me into a better person because right now im lazy, disorganized, depressed, and i really cant think of something that will MAKE me do things

The military won't fix any of that shit if you can't fix it on your own. We see plenty of those guys with all those problems still on active duty. If they aren't separated for failure to adapt while training, they will get chaptered out before their first contract is up.

Ask an infantry marine who’s been in for a couple years how cool it is to be a marine.

at least its SOMETHING
id rather be a NEET with some kind of accomplishment in 20 years rather than a useless NEET who never did fucking anything

Go to college. Get some kind of cert. Build some motivation and discipline, then join. Shit's hard enough without your personal BS impacting the mission.

If I've got a BA in international business and speak Spanish, Italian and French which branch is best to join? And can I go in as an officer?

literally any other branch is better than the marines. You will still get the disciplined environment and GI bill after your first contract which you can use to pursue whatever path you would like. Marines have the worst budget, worst equipment, and the most limited mission scope of all the branches.
That's all I'm saying. If being a marine is worth all that to you then go ahead, speak to a recruiter. Uncle sam will find a place for you.

officer selection is somewhat competitive in all branches but as long as you have a decent GPA, aren't medically disqualified and haven't had any trouble with the law (especially DUI/domestic charges) you have a good shot.
what branch you choose has more to do with what kind of lifestyle you want than your degree.

how is it competitive? I thought if you've got a BA you just complete a training program and you're automatically an officer. And is 3.3 a good GPA?

this is bullshit

you can have a Bachelor's in underwater basket weaving and they'll make you an officer in the military, you just need a bachelor's

if you speak 1 fucking language you get a bonus in your paycheck but 3 and you're fucking set dude

you'll take this government language proficiency test and then you'll see if you qualify for the extra pay

t. army guy that didn't get 35P

Join on an OCS contract, try to branch Intel. Or do whatever, then try out for a technical or high speed job when you hit senior 1LT or CPT and can VTIP to another field.

>there's no fucking "honor" in it, you'll either do bitch work or get fired at by sandniggers
>anyone who genuinely considers joining the marines is a retard
>either go air force or army
>don't expect people to respect you more for it

actually I don't think they compensate you for romance languages, just third world ones.

why not navy

take if from someone who has a 3.2 in underwater basketweaving and has been working on a commission in the navy for almost a year now
it's somewhat competitive
i'm only familiar with the navy but there are selection boards throughout the year for different communities within the branch. You submit a packet that includes your degree, grades, personal statement, letters of recommendation, OAR/ASTB scores, etc. The selection board reviews your packet and if it's good enough and the rest of the people applying aren't better than you and there are enough slots you will be selected.

3.3 is good. I believe 2.8 is the minimum for navy, dunno about the other branches.

Really? Could've fooled me after working 90+ hour weeks for $1k a month

i tried going to college and all 4 semesters i went for i never finished my class because i didnt have the discipline
i dont expect /people/ to respect me i am going after self respect, why do you all assume everyone is trying to please everyone else sheesh
