RESTING HEARTRATE THREAD

Let's figure out Jow Forums's resting heartrate. Reply to this thread with your heart rate *at this moment*. If we get enough replies, I'll do the math for you guys and post the findings.

If you just finished anything physically strenuous, wait a few minutes before recording your heart rate.

I know this isn't perfect, but it should give us all a rough idea.

protip: measure beats per 10 sec and multiply by 6, dont measure for a whole minute

72 BPM

OP here:

I'd encourage you to count for at least 15 seconds and multiply x4. Or 30 seconds and multiply x2. But I'll take whatever reasonably accurate data I can get.

60

Counted the whole minute: 65 pulses

I'm not fit tho. Just lurking and working out for 2 months

70

66 right now but I've seen it go down to 59 resting

64, whole minute

Mine might be slightly off since I took yohimbine hcl this morning about 3 hours ago.

That's fine. Just looking for a rough estimate of the average Jow Forums browser.

No worries, senpai. Doesn't have to be perfect.

35 bpm

61, I don't do enough cardio

What sports do you do?

Srs? Do you ever experience dizziness, syncope, etc?

71

For reference, 60-100 is considered the normal range.

100
Cigarettes, coffee, and zero cardio. I have no problem motivating myself to lift EOD, how do you guys make cardio interesting?

Athletics, I do sprints and hurdles. I also do swimming and only lift once a week, but in general spend at least 24 hours a week doing sports.

When doing a max effort run or a heavy training sometimes.

60, but I'm also a thicc boy. 6 ft 2 with 300lbs, but I definitely don't look it. Lotta muscle. Is this bad?

55

76

your stroke volume must be huge. Average amount of blood is 5L, so using averages your stroke volume would be around 143 mL/beat. Thats some efficiency there

>I'll do the math for you guys and post the findings

And what would that be?

58 pride worldwide

There are several threads about cardio every day. Right now there's one about rope skipping, one for running, another one for fucking prostitutes, and so on and so on

the correlation between cardiovascular fitness and homosexuality.

56

probably the average heart rate of Jow Forums. You can't find out stroke volume just from your home so cardiac output wouldn't be listed either.
The average adult heart rate is at 72 beats/min. Anything lower would mean you are most likely healthy.

78

holy crap man. Myocardial infarction may be in your future

53

You guys are fucking insane. How is your heart rate this high? This ain't Jow Forums. I only run 2.5 miles in the morning then workout after work and my heart rate is only average. If your heart rate is above 70 and you are under 45, you aren't Jow Forums.

So since 194cm and my bodyweight is 92 kg, does this mean I have a lot more blood in my body than average or is it an insignificant difference?

72
Dang it's high right now. Normally it's in the low 60s - high 50s.

47
Beats like a motherfucker at the gym though.

Heart rate last night was a constant 47

>feelsgud

Heart rate is usually in the low 50's high 60's when I'm fasting.
When not I'm usually 70-80.
Have abnormally low cholesterol values too.

But I'm 15%+ overweight.

I NEED a hear rate that low. What is your bodyfat? How much cardio do you do

Just mean, standard deviation, and median.

58bpm
tested 5 times with a mobile app, average was 58
I just woke up and am still in bed, so probably a bit lower because of that.

I wouldn't know if your body has more or less than the average. All I know is your cardiovascular system is very efficient. The left ventricle of your heart is probably huge(due to hypertrophy) to be having such a low resting heart rate.

My body fat is around 8-9% right now.
As said, I only lift once a week and my cardio consist of doing sprints and hurdles, as well as swimming and some longer distance runs.
But honestly if you need a low heart rate for whatever reason, start taking sports seriously and lower the amount of lifting. Join a sports club, like rowing, athletics, swimming or cycling and build it up to at least 6 days a week.

48. Thanks, running!

why do you NEED to have it that low?

>user has a big heart
Do you also have a lot of empathy? My uncorrelated variables of bro-science must be correct

how do you increase stroke volume without left ventricle hypertrophy? Serious question.

right now oscillating between 52 - 55

lose some weight

55. Measured using a metronome app.

89
I'm not fat and have been exercising for a year. I don't understand.
It's usually

Idk my body weight desu

I do lift 4 times a week and usually do a warm-up mile before lifting.

I know it kills gains but I also do run 3-5 miles on off days.

Athletic training causes ventricle hypertrophy, so I don't know how to do it otherwise?

did you drink coffee?

55

i must be misunderstanding you. Are you saying the user with a 39bpm heart rate wouldn't have a large heart?

86 BPM
6'6 260lbs

Like 5 hours ago. It's always like this even when I don't drink coffee. Adderall makes it go up to ~120.

I never experience any palpitations or shortness of breath or anything so I don't know if it's really a bad thing. I need to start doing cardio but my ankle mobility is terrible so I have to address that first.

No I wasn't saying that, just joking that people with a big heart must also have a lot of empathy/love.

59

59

48. But I'm given to understand that it fluctuates massively throughout the day for most people, so I'm not reading much into that.

well, shortness of breath could indicate something wrong in your alveoli. The increased heart rate is probably from drinking coffee 5 hours ago. Half life of caffeine is ~5-6 hours which would mean your body still have 50% of whatever concentration your originally drank. Try taking your heart rate again in the morning.

oh okay, my mistake. My reading comprehension isn't at a level I would like it to be. Working on it buddeh

I've had it in the low 60s before so you're probably right.
Like I said I don't have any heart-related symptoms so I think it's just my anxiety most of the time.

god damnit

My resting heart rate was 57bpm 43 days ago. Now it's 50. I used to have as low as 40 when I was in high school and did diving etc.

48. Distance runner and swimmer.

64

>itt: out of shape fuckers with heart rates over 70 and 80.

More specifically not doing cardio. Lifting has not reduced my heart rate at all.

72 master race checking in, pleb!

84.

Always had a fast heart rate.

104

I do intermittent fasting and my average is between 53 and 58. I went 2 months without intermittent fasting and my heart rate went up to about 65. As soon as I went back to it my average heart rate dropped back into the mid-50s within a week. No other changes to my routine or exercise.

It'll drop back down to 98 once you've thrown your burger king wrappers away

>tfw recently got an EKG saying i have arrythmia
>now i can't lift until i figure out if my heart is gonna kill me
bummer

I've noticed this too with fasting

76

Also using ephedrine/caffeine

58

55 bpm

>resting heart rate is about 70

are you guys for real? Do some fucking cardio

52
dry fasting right now and my job is pretty much consistent light cardio for 12 hours

Just using caffeine.

67. Probably decent since I'm fat and just started exercising a couple days ago.

takes longer than "a few minutes" after doing something strenuous to get your actual RHR
