The more you train, fight, lift, run, cycle, etc, etc the more confident you will become.

Just keep at it because there is no magic number or formula; we're all different.
Here is a tip though: Don't fall in love with the first piece of pussy you get. It will be tempting but you must resist if you want to throw off the yoke of mediocrity.
Do this A Squat 5x5,or 10x3 Bench press 5x5,or 10x3 Deadlift 1x5 Pull ups 10x3 Accessory movement B Squat 5x5,10x3 Overhead press 5x5,or 10x3 Deadlift 1x5 Dips 10x3 Accessory. Repeat A,B,A,B,A,B 3 times a weak. When your deadlift reaches 120kg+(-),you should consider dropping it to once a week. And adding some other variation of it,or a whole new exercise,maybe don't even add one. Also to fix your posture,train your neck,and do keep the posture perfectly straight. Any questions?

Because its very taxing on the body. And since you are a novice,you will progress fast. You will break yourself with 5x5 almost always. Its not needed too. 1x5 will get you to a 400-450 pound deadlift just fine.
