To ensure that she picks the right male, she must herself be perfect. This takes it's toll on women. So much so that females attempt suicide at a much higher rate than males.

However, males have an overall higher suicide rate because women prefer to overdose, and men prefer guns. Often an overdose can be remedied, but a gun shot to the head can't.

In conclusion, body positivity messages focus on women, because they are tortured by evolved behaviours to worry about attracting the best mate possible.

Men do not need to worry, because there is no physical price to pay after having sex.

I think having a small dick or being short as a man is only a big deal because your coming from a male perspective, to you, whatever women have issues with you can't sympathize with and it's the same vice versa.

The hole in your argument is that women who attempt suicide are not actually planning on dying, in that they choose a method that has a chance for survival. As you said, men use guns. Because their depression is overwhelmingly to a greater extent to the point that they see no other option. Hundreds of the people I met who were admitted for attempted suicide admitted they did not really want to die, they wanted to test the water and inevitably get help. You know who didn't admit that they didn't really want to die? The men and women who put bullets in their brains, slashed their wrists with a real razor, or hung themselves. Your argument even supports the fact that women do not feel the same depth, by stating that women feel the pressure of society and need more reassurance than men. These women "attempt" suicide for attention and a helping hand more often than they attempt to actually kill themselves, and by and large they go through as many hoops as possible to even get to that point. There are women who get depressed, there are women who feel unending pits of hopelessness, and there are women who truly wish to die, but they are not the majority of these cases, regardless of how you romanticize the female mind. You mixed one important fact up here as well, men are the ones peacocking for female attention, women simply have to be "better than disgusting" and they'll find a man. You live in a fantasy land, or the Pacific Northwest, if you actually believe anything you said.

I used to get really bad whiteheads, and my skin is thick as fuck. There was one on my upper lip, right on the crease when I smiled, and it was about the size of pencil eraser when I woke up. I had class in a couple hours but was so stressed about the white cap on it that I figured I could very slowly pop it without irritating my skin too much and just kind of lighten it up with toothpaste (pale masterrace). Nope. My skin fucking split. The pressure under this bad boy was so immense that it looked like I had taken a scalpel to the face, it was a straight cut about an inch/half long. This is incorrect. Suicide rates of men are just as higher compared to women in countries in which firearms are harder to access. Maybe it's because women prefer ODing over other methods, but it has nothing to do with men preferring guns.

No, and even the fact that men on average have more guns does not change the fact that women more often than not choose methods that allow them to escape. A woman has just as much access to a razor or rope, yet you don't see the suicide rates anywhere near men's. As I said before, from first hand experience, and as any doctor will tell you, most women who attempt suicide do not actually want to die. That speaks miles for their depression in comparison to the opposite gender demographic. Women do not struggle as much as you think, not to say that men are given the short stick by any means, but to delude yourself into thinking that women somehow suffer more is ridiculous.

Serious Suicide Attempts (SSA) are still much higher in men than in women. The only cases related to suicides in where it's more prevalent in women than men are Para-suicidal attempts, which they do things like self harm (emo's cutting themselves), but not with the intention of killing themselves. As far as actually wanting to kill yourself with actually attempting to, way higher for men.

It's the same thing happening in both brains, regardless of gender...shrunken hippocampus, overactive amygdala, lack of neurogenesis, chemical imbalance...I do think that at the end of their rope, women will "poor me, someone help me :(" and men won't, they'll just take action into their own hands. I guarantee you the men who commit suicide from depression wanted to get better as much as the women, they just didn't have the "pls help am smol sad womyn" route.
I also think it's a jump to assume that only depressed people kill themselves. People kill themselves for a lot of reasons; I don't think suicide statistics should be absolute fact in regards to depression at all.

Well, if there's statistics that show that women have higher rates of depression, then they've been diagnosed by a doctor and are likely seeking help. Women are more likely to go to therapy or pursue treatment than men.
It's men who aren't coping and shooting themselves in the head instead.

There's ways to help depression but a lot of people in the grip of it really don't want to get better. Not saying that as a negative, it's just how the disease works. And I know because I've had it since I was 14 and I'm very lucky in that I've found a way to treat it that works for me.
I wish men could reach out more and find help, they really need it more since so much more is expected out of them.

Doesn't that kind of prove anons point? Most men ultimately have no final safety net which lets them sink deeper into depression. What would be interesting is gauging suicides and depression amongst isolated women or women very unlikely to be able to generate attention and help for whatever reason, and comparing them to men in the same situation.
