I'd love to travel but what happens when the money runs out? The young are getting fucked over everyday. Back before the 80's you could afford a house on minimum wage. Now you need like 2 other roommates just to afford a small apartment. The middle class is shrinking. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. We're fucked as a whole so we might as well spend our lives in this dim dive-bar filled with freaks collectively known as r9k.

I have no hobbies, no friends, nothing. I don't leave my house and my only companion is my cat. My mom barely tolerates me.

I don't come here to grow as a person or learn anything. You are an absolute fool if you treat this place as anything other than entertainment. There is nowhere speech is more free than this website, and that makes it a perfect playground for people who are into that and what it causes and what it gives you the ability to do.
The only problem is people here don't want to do anything, they want to see cutting edge memes and le funny greentexts. The massive influx of these fags has brought it down plenty, but there is still plenty of fun to be had for those doing anything other than mindlessly searching for novelty and insight on a repetitive playground.

Second, I've been thinking about why I use Jow Forums and I think I know why. It's filled with people like myself who didn't really have everything go right for them in life and that's way more comforting than going on leddit or normiebook and having people show off their houses, families, and new girlfriends.

Second, 4chans only way to measure how much attention your post got is (yous) and replies in the case of the OP. This encourages controversial posts, but it also encourages pure honesty. There's no reputation that follows around users, so there is very little way to enforce social conformity whatsoever. People have long noted Jow Forums has punched above its weight in terms of contributing to internet culture and that's because it's a primordial soup of pure truth and posts are judged for content and their attention grabbing nature alone.

For these reasons I enjoy Jow Forums and have been here more than a decade and will continue posting here even though almost everybody is younger than me now.

Jow Forums is interesting because anonymous people say whatever they are actually thinking because there is no repercussion.
most would never say the things they say online here in real life. but it begs the question, are you the person you think you are in your head or are you defined strictly by your actions in the "real" world ?
