Buy yourself a "Yamaha Pacifica". Good, cheap electric guitar that will allow you to get your toes wet with guitar. Alongside that purchase yourself a "Boss Katana 250" as your amp. They aren't too expensive and you'll never need to upgrade it. Then buy a cable so you can plug your guitar in.

Buy an acoustic guitar, brands like "Takemine" and "Sigma" are good and will last you forever if you put a couple hundred bucks into it.
Make sure you get a guitar that you think looks cool though, it'll help you get motivated to get better.
Get a boss katana 250/500.

If you have to ask, then it wont seem "worth it" to you. I like the TS sound, and will pay for it because clones do not sound the same. If you do not think the TS sound is that great in the first instance, there are fuck loads of other fuzz pedals around for a shitload less.

You realize that tube screamers were made because the ONLY way to get an overdriven sound back then was to OVERDRIVE your AMP into breaking up.
So unless you're playing jazz, tube screamers were fucking extremely helpful.

Then you get the assholes who over drive their amps, and turn on a tube screamer and get the godliest tones known to man
