I have this problem where I find pumping iron unbearably boring, to the point that I would never be able to maintain a routine that involved it. Other exercise, like running, swimming, or biking, I can maintain just fine.
Do I have to give up all hope of a muscular appearance, or can I achieve some degree of success with chin/crunch/push ups and the like?
How is doing pushups less boring than doing bench press?
Gavin Morales
>some degree of success
>crossfit
Choose one.
Mason Hill
get into oly lifting
Jordan Barnes
>OP >tried lifting for 2 weeks or less >realised he was weak as shit and too many people around him were good at it >decided it was boring to try and give himself good conscience
Bitch boy. If you lift for long enough, you'll start enjoying it, it's physiological
Easton Walker
Do strongman there's like a billion events you can do and if you like /diy/ weld up all manner of torture devices. Alternatively get into highland games, you get to throw stuff and wear a kilt
Brody Myers
Do you think we do this shit for fun? Apply yourself faggot.
Ian Cook
Simply put, both are boring, one is free. I'm willing to put up with an amount of tedium if it means an overall improvement in health, but not if I'm getting nickel-and-dimed by an overpriced gym membership. Still, I'd much rather do something that I found interesting so I had more reasons to stick to it.
>i find lifting boring >have you tried lifting
Chase Ortiz
What? To do strongman comps you still have to actually lift to get good. He outright said he hates lifting and your solution is not only to lift, but to lift far more than most other people ever will.
Levi Bell
I won't deny that making yourself do something for long enough will eventually turn into passion, I know how it works. That doesn't make suffering any more enjoyable. Maybe you can put up with it, and I'll leave the stage for you. I just want to avoid dying of a coronary at 40.
Levi Adams
So just do cardio.
Grayson Williams
I do. I run a few miles every other day. I'm asking if more focused exercises at home on my off days would benefit my appearance at all, or if I just have no choice but to go lift weights. I'll *do* it, if I have to, I just don't want to if I can avoid it.
Henry Ross
>more focused exercises at home on my off days would benefit my appearance at all
yes, they would lol
do dips, pushups, australian rows, chinups, lunges, squats, and some ab exercises 3 times a week, for 5 sets of 8-15 reps (per day) and you'll see progress in no time. eat enough as well
Kayden Wilson
I am the same Lifting weights is so fucking boring and unrewarding compared to the destruction/reward/gains you feel when you get into competitive sports like cycling
Blake Ward
I'll give this a shot, thanks.
William Baker
You probably haven't tried lifting you dyel fag
Leo Cox
reminder that endurance athletes aren't athletes
Colton Carter
No one wants to read your blog faggot. Fuck off dyel
