Along with them paying for classes you'll get a few thousand, much of that ends up being pocket money especially if you pirate as many of your textbooks as you can. You can get benefits just tell them you are homeless and get GR / Foodstamps. they will help you find a job or get training/qualifications.
You can also apply for FAFSA and go to school if you are out of high school.
if not gr social services will help you get GED and here in CA they will pay you to get diploma/ged.
you can also get guard card which will let you be security guard not much different from you sitting on ur ass.
lastly you can get student loans but make sure to have a job plan for example i am getting an english degree and know the requirements for tutoring jobs around me so i can make a wage good enough to start paying back my loans. I don't have loans yet though just get aid from FAFSA and calgrant.
Also some jobs pay under table so you can get county benefits and pay and money for school, survive that way till you can find a job.

I would advise against getting a loan and go after getting a job. Even day labor would do you better. The problem with loans is that they expect you to pay them back and you are obviously in no position to do that. You'll just be digging yourself in deeper. You already know that.
