The reason the humanities departments in universities have been destroyed is because everyone is going to university, and most people do not have the mental faculties for high culture. So it is not surprising that only a select few got to participate.

Monarchy and upper-classdom is much less of a genetic lottery than the modern liberal thinks, it's more like survival of the fittest. I do believe in equality of oppurtunity though
