looks like the cat we had that ran away as a kitten like 20 miles away from our house in a different neighborhood because there were forest fires in ours. managed to make it back home in 10 days we had given up because we searched for days in the forests and couldn't find him but he made it back. he started overeating became 20-22lbs and was diagnosed with PTSD but actually lived till aged 18 and died of cat AIDS.

Thanks, and I agree! We did place netting around the entire veranda so he could be outside a bit (he has FIV, so he can't interact with other cats), but he's just too nervous to be outside unless someone else is with him, and even then it's only for a few minutes before he gets spooked
