Jow Forums, I fell for the strength meme.

Did SS, then nSuns, then 5/3/1. Been training 3 years now. My stats are:

385x3 Bench
550x2 Squat
615x4 DL

Problem is, I feel like I just look fat. I know this is probably just body dysmorphia speaking but I want to look jacked. Ideas/ tips?

OP, you do look fat. But what's important isn't how you look, but how you feel.

Do you feel like a fat, out of shape fuck losing their breath all the time, or like a fucking ox plowing through the world?

Do you care more about being the guy who could lift a truck off a kid if he has to, or the guy who's dick women want to suck?

I know this is bait but you are obese. Like 40 percent body fat. It's great that you're lifting but for your own health do some cardio and watch your diet

Just cut and do your best to keep your strength up. You're inevitably going to lose a lot of lbs on your lifts but you'll still end up stronger than when you started out.

Same routine would be fine. Only lower volume if/when you have to in order to help recovery.

If you dedicate yourself to an actual cut your lifts will probably go down a good amount but you definitely got a ton of muscle underneath so you’ll only look better as you lose more fat

what is your current routine? you could most likely stay on the same program and just eat less and run more

I'm about as fat as this, probably fatter, and have no delusions about it. If I were to lose the weight, I'd no doubt still have waves of loose skin. That's the price I pay.
But what I've been feeling is confliction. Obviously fat = bad, but if I'm going to look like a sack of shit regardless, I'd really rather be a filled out sack of shit.
I never really minded being fat. It's really the least of my problems, even in the realm of physical appearance. I feel like I'd be happier with myself if I focused more on building muscle mass than dropping the fat, because I have an idea of what I'd look like without it and I don't like it one bit. Not to mention there's no way I'd be able to afford the surgery to have the skin removed
I'm in a really weird spot with this. Think I should follow my gut or forsake it?

Beyond appearance, there are health benefits for not being obese. Someday, when you get injured, or otherwise stop lifting, you'll lose your muscle and become that guy who brags about how much he used to lift when noone cares and hes a fat sack of shit.
You worry about what will make you "happy". You have a problem with fat logic and have no discipline. You have the mentality of fat women and basedboys. There is nothing I, or anyone else can do to help you. You'll either learn to improve yourself or you won't.

You're body fat to muscle ratio is off. You have waaaay too much belly fat. That kind of fatness can easily lead to diabetes, even if you're in good physical shape internally.
