I really don't understand the ketogenic diet. Do i have to be a fucking scientist to fucking get it?

At first they say it's a high-fat, medium protein and low-carb diet, then all of a sudden I find out it doesn't have to be high-fat, it can be high-protein, medium fat. What? I thought the very basis of ketosis was that the body burned fat because my diet contained the most fat and the body burns what we eat the most.

Can anybody explain the keto diet to me like I am a little fucking kid, because the more I read about it the more confused I get.

I thought the ratio was around 70-75% fat, 20-25% protein and 5% carbs. Right?
It's so cunfusing when a so called ketogenic meal plan tells me to eat more protein than fat when every source tells me to eat mostly fat.

Fuck keto.

Excess protein can kick you out of keto. If you want to do strict keto, you should get like 70% of your calories from FAT. Rest 20% from protein, and rest 10% trace carbs etc.

That being said, low/zero carb + high protein diets work wonders on fat loss, keep you satiated etc.

If you are not suffering from epilepsy, or trying to reverse some diabetic neuropathy, there is little to no reason to go full Ketogenic. It is a hard diet to maintain

It's a meme diet for fat old people who want to lose weight by spending money and eating butter instead of by not being retarded.

Ketogenesis = starvation mode and it's not healthy to stay in it for an extended period of time.

Also you're massively increasing your risk of heart disease if you do it long term and don't listen to the retards who say "dietary cholesterol doesn't affect blood cholesterol". The only studies they have to back this up are the ones taking people already eating a high cholesterol diet, giving them even more cholesterol and then saying "wow, look, no notable increase". No shit, they were at an increased risk for heart disease before, and they're at an increased risk after.

Also you can't eat more protein calories than fat calories on a low carb keto diet, because you'd die from protein poisoning.
