Swimming for gainz

Alright guys I've heard lots of shit about swimming. Wanted to know what you guys think about it ?

>Swimming for cardio & for gains at the same time.

Possible ?
Achievable ?

Maybe you have some program suggestions ?

Swimming for gainz takes years. Unless you have olympic level equipment where you can train safely in water with weight and resistance, it'll take you two years minimum to see significant gains.

Cardio tho, fucking great

OP here.

Let's say swimming + liftting about two to three time a week (student there).

Great combo ?

I've been doing this
ruthkazez.com/swimming/ZeroTo1mile.htmand I defo have gotten some gains. Feels great to get the pump in the water.

> olympic level equipment

you mean a pool or lake and some swimming googles?

Swimming is genuinely great for overall fitness. Undoubtedly the safest and longest-lasting option. But it doesn't give you huge muscles and it doesn't let you lift fuckhuge objects, so the hobby lifters who make up 95% of Jow Forums just aren't interested.

swimming is so boring that's why I switched to water polo

every failed college swimmer ever

It’s great for your lungs and with time you will be able to hold breath for 4+minutes

Yeah, great combo. Amazing for fitness, good on the joints. Get that otter bod

He's right, though. You can't even really listen to music, those cheekbone goggles suck. It's a lot more fun and engaging to play a team sport that still requires you to swim for basically an hour straight.

Swim everyday then supplement with lifting. Vary with intensity and distance. Focus on freestyle and butterfly.
They have resistance gear, weights, and other equipment specially suited for water training. Probably other stuff too

>Probably other stuff too

so you're just guessing

>durrr olympic training facilities dont have state of the art equipment! They just use what every Joe Shmoe swimmer at the YMCA uses!

>constantly needs entertainment to do something
>cant meditate or sort thoughts from the day through exercise
yeesh

Meditating for two hours a day is too much for me. I'm no monk.

>other equipment specially suited for water training. Probably other stuff too

This is what you wrote, dont hate me... I just called out your BS.

>durr i have never set a foot into a pool but on the internet nobody knows

I swam for 14 years. Club and HS level and 1 year college. The college I went to was small and in no way competitive in sports, but even they had specialized cameras and overwalks to help your form. I think the olympic training facility backed by the U.S is going to have more than that

ând now you shitposting on an anime board

what happend to your life old man...

What's your height?

Swimming is amazing for gains. I had been having some wrist and hip problems and had to take over a year off from lifting. Instead I swam 6 days a week for two months and all of my lifts skyrocketed past what they had previously been at when I returned to lifting.

I would highly recommend 100swimmingworkouts.
