The bar itself is about 65 pounds user

Wheres the achievement?

Does this mean 1 x 1?

It's that shit even real? Do they actually make a 45 pound plate and then put a hole in it?

Celebration thread, I benched 2 pl8s for 2 reps today. I am a big boy now!

Can't an untrained main bench like 90 pounds? What did you guys bench when you first started? I first trained with pushups and started benching at one plate

Fuck off. At least these niggers are trying and staying positive. Go hate on some fatties or someone who deserves it.

I was 17 years old, 6'4 and fat, un-athletic 120kg when I first benched, didnt really know what I was doing workout wise but 3-4 sets 60kg x 10 and was what I was comfortable with, after a few weeks I was doing 80kg x 6 reps. I never tried to see what my 1rm was.

first steps are best steps OP. I finally managed to rep out 5x5 200 pounds for the first time.
>mfw I remember when 100 pounds used to be my 1rm

Are you all literal children or have you never done any physical activity in your entire life?

>mfw it still is my 1rm

I started benching just the bar, and that was already pretty tough enough for me at 3x10. I've always been pretty weak generally and i was 55kg and 181cm. Now I can bench .75pl8 3x5, probably still subpar, but that's after only 4 weeks of training, I like the progress.

Keep lifiting. If a faggot like me can reach 5x5 200 then you can aswell.

My 110lbs gf benched that her first day in the gym. What are you?

It's threads like these that continue to give me hope for some of the boards on this site. People only know the shit side of this place because they never try to go beyond the surface. Keeping being awesome brehs and congrats OP.

Everyone starts at different levels. I did a lot of pushups before I started going to the gym and I started with 50kg/110lbs even though I was a skelly

Is there a dumbbell to barbell bench ratio?

Im assuming most here who struggle are lanklet fags, I'm a manlet started benching woth the bar, 6 month later i bench 185.

Kneel dyel fags

is this the shitty progress thread? im in!

good job OP, soon it'll be 80, 90, 145, 225, 1 million

Dont jump to conclusions guys what if he weights 75lbs, he is already benching his bodyweight

You joke, but looking like ol' Kirkleton would be an improvement for me. I probably have similar muscle mass but with a layer of fat I'm trying to lose.

Are you fat

Does that mean each db is 40, or they're both 25?

It happens all the time. You can't trust these platemakers. Their numbers are all over the place.

Isn't that dangerous? Like if you had two different brands on each side of the barbell. That could be pretty significant imbalance.

2*DB weight+~30lbs=BB weight

It’s a meme, he’s fucking with you

But looking it up it appears that it's very possible to get inaccurate plates.

>tfw getting to the point where all my reps are at least 135

BWAHAHA rest in shit 25s!

Attached: skele.gif (256x192, 657K)

>benches 185 and calls others dyel
Top kek

I benched 305 pounds for one rep the other day. Can do 275 lbs for 5 reps. I weigh 205 and am 6’0. Bow to me.

post body

I'm stagnating at 165 on 3x5.

Wait... Did you count the bars weight? So you only did 30lbs?

Women and children

hell yeah man good shit
I just hit the gym for the first time in a while only was able to bench 40 gonna get back to wear i was i'm weak af right now

After 6 months of lifting I finally bench the bar and 5 kg added on each side for 5 reps.
