Your diet is unhealthy and you go on it because you're a fucking retard who can't put the fork down. The only benefit to keto is the reported feeling of satiety. You'd lose more fat and spare more muscle following a normal diet while calorie restricting.
Jace Foster
It's good for weight loss. But you're also taxing your adrenals and thyroid. Eventually that shit catches up to you.
I do a ray peat diet and I feel pretty good on it, and I've definitely lost fat, even eating @3000 calories/day.
Easton Smith
>it lowers cholesterol
>it makes you lose weight
Hmm... it activated your almonds but apparently your almonds don't work so well. It's almost like weight loss = lower cholesterol.... And since high dietary cholesterol and fat intakes raise serum cholesterol it's almost as if you could lower cholesterol even further if you didn't eat a diet primarily consisting of fat and animal products.
Huh...
Josiah Hill
What was the point of this post? You just agreed with me.
Ryan Rogers
why do people feel the need for keto and other meme diets? whenever i want to cut weight i literally just eat less and do a bit more cardio
Levi James

>Low-carbohydrate diets and their combination with high-protein diets
keto is not high protein, discarded

>BUT U JUST AGREE WITH ME
Would you like me to buy you some more almonds bro? It seems like all you have are almond shells.
They're not my studies, they're the ones the other guy linked but you refused to look at. Regardless, keto IS a high-protein diet albeit not prescribed as such. Most of you tards get your fats from oil, butter and meat. If you're eating in excess of 100g of protein a day you're eating a high protein diet according to the literature.
Jacob Walker
>keto IS a high-protein diet
factually wrong you utter cretin, high protein intake blocks ketosis i.e. no longer keto
Bentley Hughes
only getting to eat a plate of bacon, cheese and butter once a day sounds shit though
Oliver Russell
It doesn't. When I was young and retarded I too did keto. High fat, high protein and less than 20g of carbs a day. Pissed maximum ketones on the piss strips. It's a stupid diet for ignorant people
Jack Davis
I eat massive salads on keto though, what do you retards think keto is
Oliver Ross
>cholesterol is relatively lower
why are you posting? It's embarrassing to watch.
Anthony Nguyen

>high protein
You keep saying that but its clear you're just retarded.
Ethan Gomez
More like
breakfast: 3 eggs (1tbsp butter), 4 slices of bacon
lunch: salad with an entire avocado, 2 slices of bacon, low carb dressing
dinner: chicken and whatever non retarded vegetable side you want
like 900-1100 calories
Anthony Russell
>keeps agreeing with me
>wondering why everyone in this thread thinks hes retarded for trying to make an argument

Post macros in grams
>he doesn't understand the meaning of relatively lower
>he doesn't understand that from baseline a relatively lower cholesterol level is still high, due solely to dietary cholesterol intake
>this creates risk of heart disease
>y-yeah but u said lower so u agree xD
Ketards are the absolute worst
Nicholas Allen
Keto threads are embarrassing to read. Both sides have zero understanding of nutrition in general.
People that promote the keto diet are usually retarded, in the medical sense, because they can't see that the keto diet is an extreme measure that is worth taking only when when a patient is obese or has some other disease. If you're healthy weight, there are more health benefits to eating more fruit, vegetables, and grains, than being on full keto (lard, bacon and oil) permanently.
Side note: in fitness communities the keto diet usually involves ridiculous amounts of protein, which makes it not even keto. If you're eating more than 70g of protein a day, unless you're huge, you should probably just kill yourself now.
People that hate keto are more understandable, because the keto community is mostly fat retards, but they're also retarded because they don't understand the basic biology of glycogen, glucose, and insulin, as evidenced in this thread.
Wyatt Watson
macros are ratios, 5%carb, 20%protein, 75%fat
there is no point posting macros in grams because it depends on your size, a 6'3 220lb muscular god isn't going to eat the same total calories as a 9
110lb 5'6 twink fuccboi
Carson Kelly

I run 15k every other day and It's still not happening
When will it happen?
Austin Watson
>macros are ratios
No shit. You know you can post a ratio in grams right? Your percentages mean nothing, you could eat anywhere between 1000-5000 calories.
>because it depends on your size
Wrong, it depends on more than just size. Spotted the DYEL
*posts uncited bar graph*
*flexes a 'cep*
>Cigarettes don't cause cancer idiot! I smoke a pack a day and I'm fine!
Sounds good buddy, give it time. Also
>keto
>runs 15km eod
Sure.
Easton Gomez
Wait you were arguing that keto was high protein, but its 20%protein
assuming people are losing it for fat loss they must be at a deficit so obviously aren't eating 5000 calories you melt
Brody Walker
hang on one cotton pickin second
>sips caffinated beverage
so what yer all sayin here

by just cuttin carbs?
>wipes greasy hands with a ribeye steak, then eats it
well yeeeeeee hawwwwwww
Luke Bell
>but its 20%protein
High protein doesn't mean what you think it means. You've bought into too many fitness memes. The recommended protein intake for a regular, healthy person is 60 or so grams. By definition if you eat above this recommendation your diet is high in protein. By your logic someone could eat 10,000 calories a day, 20% protein, 500 grams of protein (math might not be perfect pls no bulli), and this wouldn't be considered "high protein"
>assuming
Don't do that.
Isaac Bennett
if you're sedentary, plenty of studies show higher protein is needed for active people
why are you taking fringe examples? on 2000 calories, 20% protein is 100g, which is not high for an active person
Ryan Lewis
Carter Lewis
>2000 calories
>an active person
lol Are you a manlet bro? Be honest.
>why are you taking fringe examples?
I'm using extremes to poke holes in your shitty logic. Percentages are useless in this context., use grams instead.
>plenty of studies show higher protein is needed for active people
Yes but that isn't what you think it means. Athletes have been purported to only need 1.2g/kgbw with 1.4-1.6g/kgbw being the upper limit. It's all about nitrogen balance. You have been tricked by supplement marketing. You're not an athlete, you don't train multiple times a day and you don't train with an athlete's intensity.
Andrew Collins
>2000 calories a day is unreasonable when losing weight, the main benefit of keto
are you a brainlet? how many calories do you cut on?
Christopher Rivera
>eat carbs
>die
Sebastian Gray
Different guy but 3000 at least.
Grayson Bell
fine, I prefer to cut hard and use the benefits of keto to help me minimise the duration of the cut
Jeremiah Cruz
>he's STILL assuming everyone uses keto for weight loss
I thought I told you to stop assuming that? It isn't true.
>while higher total carbohydrate intake and/or GL are related to lower total and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels.
>self-reported questionnaire
>doesn't distinguish between carbohydrates
>doesn't investigate nor remark upon what was eaten
>majority overweight/obese
>majority have high cholesterol already
>majority are LITERAL boomers
>keeps pushing the low HDL link despite evidence showing only high LDL is relevant for determining CHD risk
Wow. This """study""" really made me think. Good link user.
Landon Walker
Also forgot to mention that their description of GI and GL lets you know they were eating an extremely shitty diet and nobody was exercising. Very vague study which seems to have an agenda.
Zachary Thomas
97lbs from 400 is still 300
Andrew Rodriguez
conveniently ignoring the other study I posted where they were all fed a diet and produced the exact same results
Nathaniel Allen
oh my god you're so fucking dumb bro
Michael Watson
If you're going to go down that road, literally 95% of all dietry research should be just discarded. There are so many shit studies by those standards.
Daniel Wood
>if you read one study you must read ALL of my studies
Listen, cunt, you don't get to be entitled when I can drop up to twenty studies in a thread which nobody ever reads, tries to pick apart via abstract, gets rebuked and then leaves. The other study is a lot longer and I just can't be fucked. If it's anything like the trash I already read through it's a waste of time anyway.
Not true at all.The biggest issues are the self-reporting, the high cholesterol, high weight, lack of distinction between carbs and a failure to investigate the whole diet. It's a very poor study.
Owen Adams
Okay if you don't want to read it that's fine but it deals with your complaints
Mason Cox
97lbs from 242 is 147
Brandon Rivera
>Funding: This work was funded by a grant from Dairy Research Institute, The Beef Checkoff, the Egg Nutrition Center, and the Robert C. And Veronica Atkins Foundation.
>Competing interests: Professional associations (Dairy Research Institute, The Beef Checkoff and the Egg Nutrition Center)
>Sixteen overweight/obese men and women 30-66 years old, with a BMI between 27–50 kg/m2 participated in this controlled dietary intervention
You also claim that this study proves eating carbs = dying but I'm not seeing that conclusion in the study. It says that dietary SFA intake does not have an adverse effect on serum SFA (but they conveniently leave out the fact that it's because of high baseline serum SFA ;) sneaky sneaky). This study is garbage.
Also since you seem to misunderstand, people who are anti-dietary fat are pro-whole food, plant based diets. Coincidentally a wfpb diet is the only diet clinically shown to be able to reverse atherosclerosis and CHD. Weird.
Blake Clark
