Deadlift will make your whole body satisfied if you do it properly. It's the most intense lift out of all.

hello summer

The ultimate Jow Forums blackpill.
>b-b-but it made my back feel better in the short term!
So you strengthened your back muscles, congrats. You're still fucking your spine longterm.

That's why you do trap bar deadlifts.

Basic physics and anatomy dictate that deadlifting -- because of the shear force it subjects the spine to -- just makes your discs ticking time bombs.

Powerlifters are literally and figuratively the fat people of orthopedics: they destroy their bodies and then take up medical resources that should be utilized by those who did nothing to bring about their medical problems.

or are you too scared of usimg your fingers to type because it might give you arthritis in the future?

only genetically gifted people with double tendons can deadlift, mere mortals should stick with yoga

I think I'd rather have some finger pain then be addicted to opioids because I can't fucking walk out of my house due to my fucked up back

>That macho posturing

speaks the truth.

You are wrong and won't listen to anything saying otherwise because you don't even lift.

Pulling with a flat/neutral spine (generally) does not create enough shear force to cause injury to your discs.

you're right. deadlifting used to give me serious back pain. i'd rewatch multiple videos demonstrating proper form and practice in front of a mirror. nothing got better. fuck deadlifting

What is hormesis?

t.spinelet

I have a serious back ailment that only gets resolved through deadlifting

fuck OP
and LOL and OP's weak posterior chain that doesn't allow him to deadlift correctly

>Deadlifting is useless
Seems pretty useful if you need to get better at picking up heavier shit.

>four herniated discs
>fractured L5 6 years ago

Deadlifts are what have been giving my lumbar spine life for the past 6 years. Without them and additional core work, I'd be a sedentary spinelet. 6pl8 diddly now, enjoying the posture gains that come with it

Both of those sources literally say that if you do it with good form and don't overtrain then you should be fine. Maybe take like two seconds to read what you post before trying to sound smart

The delusion on this board.

>I also entered a 600-pound deadlift into the program. The values for a correct form lift
were: compression 17,000 N (3,500 pounds-force) and shear 1,200 N (240 poundsforce).
So even when lifting 600 pounds, with proper form the shear is only 20 percent
above what occupational biomechanists suggest as an upper limit in an industrial
setting. With the incorrect form of a flexed spine, however, compression is 18,300 N and
the shear an amazing 6,700 N. To say this is dangerous to the spine is an
understatement

In other words, even a 600 lb deadlift performed correctly generates forces 20% greater than the safe cutoff point for shear force on the spine. That's only one CORRECT rep btw. Ticking.Time.Bomb.

The only thing you'll be picking up is a SS check

can't prove you wrong when you're right

I agree. The deadlift is just an ego lift.

>Needing science to explain to you why a deadlift is bad

Anyone with half a brain would see why a deadlift is fucking dangerous af

They literally tought you in school to NEVER lift with your back

deadlift really helped me with my posture. if its giving you back pain you need to work on your core strength and lower the weight until u have proper form. if you're only lifting the weight with your back you're doing it wrong, it's a compound exercise.

What kind of hateful person literally spends hours a day trying to convince this board that deadlifting is bad for them?
