Today is the first day of my keto, Jow Forums. Instead of the usual bowl of oatmeal with mixed berries and cinnamon for breakfast I'm having eggs, meat, and cheese. What should I expect?

First day of keto means skipping breakfast and lunch and having some meat an hour or two before going to bed and doing the same thing for the next two days.

Will you be doing this regularly on a keto diet?
It might be a tasty cheat meal, but a keto diet isn't an excuse to just a tonne of meat, eggs and cheese, and definitely not an excuse to eat processed meats. Things don't just suddenly become healthier just because you're in ketosis... even if you're in fat burning mode and thus able to easier metabolise the saturated fat, there's still the oxidised cholesterol and all the rest of the problems associated with excessive meat, eggs, dairy consumption.
Keto is just a diet in which you burn fat as your primary fuel. You were apparently eating a plant based breakfast before, you could continue to do so on keto. You could still eat porridge in fact - just swap out the oats for chia seeds, keep the cinnamon and berries and maybe add some nuts on top or mix with coconut milk.
People make that joke about vegans telling everyone about their diet but keto is even worse for this.
...Err, does this mean vegan keto will be even worse than either alone?

I’ve been doing it for a few weeks now and have lost 15 pounds. Chances are it’s mostly water but still it’s encouraging and I feel less bloated/my pants aren’t as tight.
Make sure you avoid sugars in places you don’t expect them though. I went out for Asian food and the sauce was so sweet I couldn’t eat too much. If you’re used to having sandwiches for lunch you can find low carb wraps that taste like cardboard but at least hold together the good stuff. I highly recommend you pick up some avocados and make some tasty new bulk foods so the novelty pushes you past the constant feeling of greasy hunger that first week. Beef moussaka is pretty good and has loads of keto preparations. Also, beans have lots of carbs. I was disappointed to learn this.
If you work/study make sure you avoid the gains goblin of leftover donuts/pizza in breakrooms! Goodluck! I believe in you!

I don't do keto cause if you want to build muscle is not optimal but I do eat A SHITLOAD of protein, I take 9 schoops of whey every day too and I never feel hungry. I'm on a cut, around 1800kcals or so and eating a shitload of meat = not being hungry

One of the mistakes I made on keto was eating way too much protein. I was unable to get into ketosis the first week because I was eating shit like what's in your pic.
You're going to need to cut down on protein and eat fat rich foods. That's what's going to keep you full.
Also, drink bullet proof coffee. Once your body starts running off fat, that shit will perk you up immediately.
Finally, make sure you're getting enough salt for sodium (I use the pink Himalayan salt) and fiber from lots of leafy greens or you'll get constipated as fuck.

I started keto 40 hours ago and Iv been fasting ever since, definitely depleting that glucose. Ill have my first meal in a minute - ox tail broth. Real nibba food.
OP careful with the protein, Keto is high fat moderate protein, and lots of protein is a good way to stall your ketosis.
