This dumb cunt thinks that growing up with parents earning over100k a year is the same as living on the minimum wage because her folks didn't splurge on anything that made them look ostensibly bourgeoisie

You can't live a normal life on minimum wage. This person is very privileged and its funny and sad they think their life is comparable to someone who is poor.
I'm not being hyperbolic or funny here but a single person earning minimum wage literally cannot survive where I live.
You could not afford rent/bills/taxes/travel expenses/clothes/food and other vitals over the course of a month, there's simply no way.
Yeah she's definitely had a comfortable life. Cell phones, savings accounts, two or three cars, a house with enough bed-rooms for everyone. My dad earned 50k a year, and I was able to live decently. I would put the cap on "poor" at around 35k a year. I had to live pretty frugally, but a person raised in a house that makes 100k a year probably doesn't even know what poverty actually is.
>Yeah she's definitely had a comfortable life. Cell phones, savings accounts, two or three cars, a house with enough bed-rooms for everyone.
Exactly. That's probably her idea of a "normal life". Normies are always surprised when you tell them things like you've never been on a plane
This is a prime example of
>female "problems"
>I'm not being hyperbolic or funny here but a single person earning minimum wage literally cannot survive where I live.
Why would anyone think you're being hyperbolic?. That's the reality for most people on minimum wage in every western country
kek it's just like let them eat cake.
It's just some people obviously do get super hyperbolic when it comes to poorfag shit and it discredits the whole argument.
They probably owned some 5 bedroom house with 3 garages in a nice neighborhood too.
If you're over 20 and working a minimum wage job, neck yourself. GG no re.
what if i've achieved 1.50 an hour raise by 22 am i still on a good life path?
then they should live somewhere else.
Depends on what you do. If you're able to live in a cabin innawoods then it's possible. But that's definitely not practical for everybody.
It depends on how you define normal. I think that a life which doesn't have major problems like living paycheck to paycheck or not being able to afford any luxuries is more normal than minimum wage hell. But I'm a bit biased because I hate it when people try to wave around how poor they are as if it's some kind of title, whether they're poor or not.
Can't argue with that, bro.
>mfw europoor with 14.6k a year average
And she has the audacity to tweet that
JUST MOVE TO ANOTHER PLACE LOOOOL XD
>Worrying about being evicted is the same as being made to do yard work
People who earn minimum wage are teens just getting money or factory workers who aren't educated. Minimum wage shouldn't be enough for you to live off of. If adults work full time and make minimum wage then they are legit failures.
This. You can just live in another area that has a lower cost of living if you can find a job there.
Then move out you retarded piece of cuntshit
>Lower cost of living
>lower wages
idiot detected
You have remarkably low knowledge about how the (job) market works.
I thought we were talking about living under minimum wage? ?
They're all like this. My fucking half sisters were born with silver spoons up their asses and they try to tell me about all of this bullshit about hard work and staying postive. Meanwhile they went to much better schools and have infinite retries because they have deep pockets.
Stupid fucks who think all blacks are saints and whitey needs to be reeducated when I've had motherfuckers swinging on me to jack my shit.
They don't know what that's like. Otherwise they would have the police on auto-dial the moment they saw a nigger.
If you work any minimum wage job as an adult (cashiers, waiters, janitors, factory workers) and trying to raise a family, you are a failure.
And you set the terms for who's a winner and who's a failure? Get your head out of your ass, nerd. You have no authority on anything but the websites you design
I work at a gas station and earn near minimum wage. I have a bachelor's and my manager is a PhD holding dune coon. Fucking kys sheltered child.
You can't live anywhere else. You have to get multiple jobs.
My dad earnt 20,000 after govt help to raise me and my 4 siblings. It was barely enough. My parents were always in debt. That experience should have motivated me to work hard and earn more but i just gave up because i don't know how to make more than min wage. Not like my parents taught me anything about money.
Once I got about to about 10 my parents were making over 100k...prior to that they worked at fucking little ceasers and a sandwhich truck...by 13 I'd saved enough from not eating at school to not have to ever ask my parents to buy me anything. I've experienced both sides
Shes not as wrong as you think but shes too stupid to know that opening the fridge and seeing food is not how everyone lives.
....No...quit
Please tell me how you managed to be retarded and earn more than min wage? I'm assuming you don't make more than min but I find it hard to believe you could be retarded and still survive on that little as you lack the necessary brain capacity.
that's honestly horrible. you probably got a bachelor's in a field that had low job growth, and you probably aren't as privileged as me. I feel for you, but I'm not talking about your type. Unless you're trying to raise a family.
No, I don't. But there's a reason parents use minimum wage workers as an example of what not to do.
Wow roasties are retarded and disconnected from reality and the value of money, in other news water is wet
I make the same as both her parents. Sure I can afford to live on my own, have a newish vehicle, and money for hobbies but its not like making 100k a year makes you this upper middle class elite like she thinks. I'm still as happy as I was when I made minimum wage, I just have less stress.
>still as happy
>has less stress
My apartment is $205, my share of power is $60 and internet is $75
I make 7.25 an hour 60 hours of work pays my bills and the rest I just spend on food and Vidya.
It's not everywhere in the us but it is most places
The only reason you would say this is because your parents are irresponsible debt slaves. I've seen people who make over 250k/yr and have this issue. What's crazy is I myself have more free income than my buddy's parents who make over 350k/yr and I make $17/hr.
There is a difference between making 100k/yr with 85k going towards bills and debts vs 100k/yr with 20k going to bills and debts.
>if an adult works an honest job that's necessary to society but gets paid minimum wage he is a failure
kys honestly
lol i could work min wage full time and be able to move out alone
honestly it's kind of true
when it is all said and done, there is only a meaningful difference between people who take in millions of dollars a year and people who don't
$50k a year $100k a year even $250k a year let's be honest you're being worked to the bone and consigned to a life of constant debt slavery and stress all the same. there's no reason to get out bed in the morning unless you're clearing a million a year.
Factory workers make a shit load of money because of unions. My dad works in a steel mill and clears 70K a year easily.
There are a finite number of non-minimum wage jobs and more people with college degrees than there are good paying jobs. The idea that you can go to university and be sucessful by default is a myth perpetuated by baby-boomers from when jobs were plentiful and college degrees were less common.
an honest job that's necessary to society is an electrician or plumber, not cashiers. cashiers are necessary but those jobs are filled with teens, which they're supposed to.
I never said you could just go to college and then immediately get a job. These days you have to get jobs with positive outlooks.
>implying it's ok to pay someone a smaller wage just because they're a teen
Federal US min wage is $7.25 which would mean 13.9k before tax. But realistically min wage is actually $10 on average meaning 19.2k before tax.
>There is no difference between 19k and 100k
that's the ultimate privileged quote, fucking die boomer scum
This is why economic conservatives are retarded.
>I work a minimum wage job and can barely afford to pay rent/food
JUST MOVE SOMEWHERE LESS EXPENSIVE LOL
>I can't move because I can't afford travel, or save up the three-months rent for a new place to live
JUST GET A BETTER JOB THEN LOL
>I can't afford a car so I can only work jobs in my immediate area, and the only ones available to me are minimum wage, which hasn't risen with the cost of inflation
JUST GO TO SCHOOL AND GET QUALIFIED THEN LOL
>I can't afford school, maybe we should have subsidized education or zero-interest student loans?
NO THAT'S COMMUNISM
>Okay well I just got sick and can't work, and now I have crippling medical debts which makes my lifestyle even worse. Surely if we don't raise the minimum wage or subsidise education, at least basic human health should be freely accesible
NO THAT'S COMMUNISM
>Okay I'll just continue working these low-paying jobs that trap me in poverty and lead to a lack of social mobility, shrinking the middle-class and leading to stagnant economic growth nation-wide, just because you're afraid of sharing a marginal amount of tax.
LOL WHY ARE THERE SO MANY GHETTOS, THESE PEOPLE SHOULD JUST GET A JOB
Yeah I never said that either.
But the reality of the situation is that there are a huge portion of college graduates who get out of school and wait tables or work at kinko's because the idea that "having a degree = eventual success" and you can blame them for not pursuing "practical" degrees if you want, but being that people start college at like 18 I don't see how you can blame them for.pursuing something that is actually interesting to them when they've been told their whole lives just having a degree will ultimate increase what you make and you're a loser if you dont have one.
>I work a minimum wage job and can barely afford to pay rent/food
It's a privilege to be alive. It's a privilege to have a house. You don't deserve anything.
>I can't move because I can't afford travel, or save up the three-months rent for a new place to live
Then live on the streets or work more.
>I can't afford a car so I can only work jobs in my immediate area, and the only ones available to me are minimum wage, which hasn't risen with the cost of inflation
Not surprising since minimum wage is a fucking meme that inflates prices
>I can't afford school, maybe we should have subsidized education or zero-interest student loans?
Zero-interest or low interest student loans could work if they are not paid by the government. I could see some larger companies helping students in order to gain more workers.
>Okay well I just got sick and can't work, and now I have crippling medical debts which makes my lifestyle even worse. Surely if we don't raise the minimum wage or subsidise education, at least basic human health should be freely accesible
Not really. Even in the US, the cheaper health insurance does its job alright. If you are too retarded to buy an insurance then I feel sorry for you.
>Okay I'll just continue working these low-paying jobs that trap me in poverty and lead to a lack of social mobility, shrinking the middle-class and leading to stagnant economic growth nation-wide, just because you're afraid of sharing a marginal amount of tax.
Sorry, I won't let you steal from me or other people.
this post reeks of a teenage Jow Forumstard who's never worked a day in his life
overpopulation, etc
Fuck off boomer. You showed up at your factory job down the street from your moms house for 30 years and thanks to the union you made 80K a year by the time you were 40 and managed to retire right before operations moved over seas. You didnt earn shit you got lucky.
I tell you whayt boy, back in my day we didn'tve no sissy nannies like that other feller. No we worked hard and *sips monster*, yessir I tell ya like it is, being alive is a privilege in the great US of A. Them starving fellas in Africa just don't understand what a privilege being alive.
Anyway sunny boy, you seen my new grill? This baby's big enough to grill 18 ribeyes in one sitting.
And your post was very well argued and has nice smell of summer and strawberries.
Except if you earn 250k/y you can retire after 4 years, and if you earn 50k/y you can retire after 20 years.
>I could see some larger companies helping students in order to gain more workers.
>companies paying for training
>ever
The only way this would happen is if the government subsidised companies to do this and we'd just end up where we started again.
my favorite part is when people say they "had a comfortable upbringing"
makes me wanna slam my face through their chest
i was born into a two bedroom house with 3 brothers, parents had 1 more kid, my mom got divorced from my dad and we moved into a project that charged you rent based on your yearly income.
she made 8/hr and was paying the highest rent out of all of our neighbors.
i grew up on fucking nothing.
these fuckers in the 6 figure bracket or even the 50k/year bracket for total family have nothing on me
I grew up with 4 brothers and a single mom and we're all still poor as shit
See how do you subject yourself to minimum wage jobs? I got a job turning stop slow paddles for $10 a hour and got me a connection into the utility sector and I now don't have to worry about transportation, health insurance and I get a nice wage. Also living alone is a privilege. I had a roommate when I was working minimum wage and I got by just fine.
and where do you live?
some areas you CAN only get minimum wage jobs
there's more areas in america that are economically dead than not that's why everyone gathers in cities
but lots people can't afford to uproot their entire life on maybe making more money somewhere else when they barely make enough money to get by right where they are
I live in rual Florida. The problem is people don't realize that they are their own owner of their labour. Instead of undercutting their own value of their labour. Considering I've only worked minimum wage for 3 months of my life.
it's not people undervaluing their own labor it's that people have no jobs around them hiring
there's no shops making shit like where you got in a lot of areas have industrial zones that have gone out of commission and it's not worth it to try to restart them they were a bad idea to start in the first place
I'm just impressed a human female managed to produce eggs
If paco and his 5 kids can afford to move while working under minimum wage I don't see what's stopping you.
why are americans so fucking dumb. just nuke this garbage
>be above 20 years old
>Still only earn minimum wage
You can literally earn more than that by doing shit online for 30 hours / week and it's not camwhoring, roleplaying or other fucked up sex shit. People who can't earn above the minimum are fucking idiots and should not deserve any help.
Wealth is close to exponentially distributed. Any point on an exponential curve looks the same. It always looks like the people who are richer than you are insanely wealthy, and you always feel like you're one of the crowd.
There is no point at which you have a different perspective on wealth unless you're right at the top or bottom, where the curve stops being exponential.
Its the opposite here. Huge amount of work and low wages because of the eternal mouse. Since idiots will work for low wages Disney hires them at low wages.
Correct minimum wage is a stepping stone to a job thats wage is higher. So I've gone from 7.50 to 10.00 to 17.50 and soon that might jump to 27.50.
I'll tell you something.
Americans have a free trade school program that gives them free food and roofing for the amount the trade program lasts with a opportunity to join one of the most lucrative bullshit union in the United States. But you know nobody knows about that.
that is bullshit though, I dunno who told you that
trades are so saturated trade school doesn't guarantee a job, and unions are generally super hard to get into as well
You aren't wrong but people itt are upset with this when they should be upset with a system that really facilitates failure among the adult working population.
>interview at local Walmart, one of the only actual business in my failing town in flyover country midwestern america.
>manager says the wage is 7.25/hr
>Say that I wont allow my labour to be undervalued, demand 7.50.
>manger shows me out, hires one of the other 20 eager candidates.
You know your experience is not the one shared by everyone in the world yes?
I bet he's a office public servant.
Frankly underrated.
>We should kill off everyone who doesn't have a master's degree
You do realize that a lot of jobs require manual labor? If a factory doesn't have workers, how the fuck will it work?
>there is a LOT OF difference between minimum wage and 100k
>But not that much
There really needs to be some kind of IQ filter for twitter posts
Manuar labor is over my child. Every "dumb" task except cherry picking has been automatized.
Other types of manual labor actually require a degree and/or talent (mechanic, machinist, carpenter...)
Remember when buying your own home was an attainable goal to work towards after high school?
I don't, I wasn't born until 1994
>mfw i live on slightly over 7000 pounds a year
She's honestly completely retarded. I've lived with people in the same situation as her who act like they're "poor." Motherfuckers don't know what poor is, and desu it doesn't seem like many people on this board know either.
Growing up with a single mom who made minimum wage, I knew poor. As an adult working minimum wage, fully self supported, I honestly don't understand how people waste so much money to deem minimum wage "unlivable." I have enough money for all basic necessities, plus if I manage my money right, I have a surplus of at least 500 usd per month (which I save because I'm not fucking poor and actually have self control). I don't even work full time most of the time.
It's always the more successful people that conflate luck and hard work. With their oversized ego, they imagine that they earned everything that they have. What they don't realize is that hard work without luck is meaningless. Yes they may have worked hard (and that is debatable) but if they weren't also lucky they would have failed like everyone else. For every hard working success story there are thousands of people working just as hard or harder and barely managing to survive.
Why is it so hard to just admit you got lucky and do your part to help out the less fortunate?
Wow she's a real piece of shit for even thinking there is any kind of point to make here. Marie Antionette over here posing for the plebs.
>do your part
All I ask is that they admit they don't give a shit and that their sense of self-worth is unwarranted.
Source you stupid faggot. Unless you're talking about the military in which case you are a living meme.
>that 23 year old boomer who wants to save Mr Shekelberg money
looooooooooooool
This is what these people actually believe.
You will never understand the destitution of growing up poor, among people who will, at almost all points, make continued bad decisions around you: drug use, selfish parenting, mental illness, stubborness in old ways, violent dominance, glorification of violence, cults, filth, lack of ability to predict further than 2 days into the future, broken families, higher rates of abuse, broken schools that are set up as prisons or daycare, cynicism from upper/middle classes, erasure, infantile treatment by upper and middle classes, racial infighting amongst lower class enclaves, reclusiveness, isolation, - these are the demons you contend with escaping from the lower classes.
These people have no idea what they're talking about, but I am not surprised, it was always clear that the middle class are once again bored of their cushioned lives and want to stirr things up a little for everyone else (but not too much!)
>but no that much
delusional, my dad earned about the same by himself and there was clearly a big difference between us and those who live less wealthy neighborhoods, we could afford to go on vacation every year for example.
Funniest thing is that 2 generations ago my family was fucking poor, god bless immigration amirite.
The fact that Americans get to go to a government operated trade school for free if they are "poor" and get the opportunity to join TCU and get bullshit railroad jobs? That's very true. I went to job corps. I only made the mistake of going into overhead lineman program instead of TCU.
>earn a quarter above minimum wage when I first got started
>Mom starts hounding me to move out and start living on my own
>show her my checks for the month and she starts throwing a fit about me not working enough hours, even though I worked 35+ hours weekly
I'm making a little under $13 so I got my own place now but fuck I'm one hefty bill away from losing it
Get a roommate living alone at that wage is stupid.
Please explain how a 23 yo is a boomer
>earns 1.2k a month
LMAO, you have it good.
>without paying more than 30% of their income
Durrrrrrr, if I have to pay more than 5% of my income on rent, how am i going to afford to buy 15 cans of monster at the gas station every day???????
Homie you get it
What does Erasure mean in this context? Great post BTW.
>without paying more than 30% of their income
So about half of those states are very comfortable at the very least, and the rest are absolutely doable if you live frugally. Gotcha.
