Do you know of any effective routines/programs to do cardio at home? I'm sick and tired of jogging, it's extremely boring.

Thanks in advance my friends

Just run anyways.
Cardio isn't boring, you are.
Run somewhere cool.

But if you must find cardio at home, look into literally anything boxing.
Hitting a heavy bag wears me out faster than running any day.

No u

No, but seriously. I've tried it many times and each minute feels like an hour, not because of the tiredness but because of pure boredom.

I don't have a punching bag, nor gloves, nor money...

I picked up a jump rope.

Fuck your excuses OP

When I used to run I would put my mind in a state of emergency. I would imagine being chased. Or trying to escape from something. Yeah it sounds corny but it got my adrenaline pumping and I fucking booked it around town. I enjoyed it. Def helped make running more interesting.

I don't mean to have excuses or anything. I just wanna have a cardio program in which I can progress a bit every week.

Do you recommend rope jumping? Have you got any progress plan or something like that?

Do you use a foam or something to not make excessive noise? I mean for the downstairs neighbors, those hits on the ground must be heard by them.

Lol that's actually not a bad idea

I use three forms of cardio
1. Swimming
2. Jumping rope
3. Inline skating
I rotate through them and when I get bored of one I move to the next. They all have somewhat of a skill component so it keeps it interesting.

unironcally do the same
taught myself to skate last year, it's mad fun
don't have access to a pool anymore so i can't swim for now, but it's the best form of cardio out there, running a shit A SHIT

>not making excuses
9/10 of the gyms I’ve been to have a heavy bag there and most let you check out wraps and gloves

Go run.

I've been looking into jumping rope and seems interesting.

Do you think I have enough place for it in my room (it's pretty small)? I have around 1.5m x 2m

No more excuses.

Pretty much any form of cardio is going to be less exciting at home than out in the world.

I don't go to any gym, I lift at home (too poor).
Do you know of any good program with exercises and progression with the jumping rope? After reading the sticky every program I find online feels like it's gimmicky and not based in reality/science.

I just started Gorilla Cardio

4 min warmup
4 minutes of 20 second sprints followed by a 10 second jog on repeat
4 minute cooldown rum

I like it so far

cycling
I listen to a podcast while riding around town, it's /comfy/

I buy my fitness stuff at my local Decathlon, but thanks. Do you use some kind of program you wanna share?

I don't think so though. When I do exercise at home with music and calmness I enter an almost meditative state where making high effort stuff feels kind of good and relaxing. At least when lifting weights.

Inline skating is fun because when you get good enough you look like a sick cunt. Also it's nice because it teaches you how to ice skate which is a food first date idea.

jajajaja yeah but here in Barcelona, in a room as tiny as this in summer it gets so hot it's almost unbearable. That tinny fan is my best ally

Buy a bike.

I do cycling in summer, at my family's home town. Here in the city is kinda shit to do (really inclined city)

Do this routine twice. On monday, wednesday and friday.

I don't use a particular program. I have 2 workouts that I switch back and forth, each one trying to go either harder or longer.

Each one starts with 10-20 mins of non-fatiguing practice where I work on footwork and technique.

Then I either do "rounds" where I am working up to 6x3min with 30s rest. There are medium intensity because of the length of the round.

Or I do "Intervals", where I'm working on 5x1min with 30s breaks, but I go MUCH harder, high knee sprints with crossovers.

I also do LISS on a stationary bike 2x a week.

Thanks guys for the info!

Twice, at the same hour? I mean, I do it once, rest for a bit (5-10 mins for example?) and then do it again?

Looks intense but promising, taking notes.

Exactly, do two sets with 5 minutes of rest in between. If you think it is too much switch to one. Also i recommend you to increase the number of sets periodically to make a progression.

I’ve never understood this. How do you get bored while running? Like you literally just have to think. Can you not occupy your own mind for an hour?

Thanks for the info, I'll do that.

I think it's not just that. If I sit on a bench for 30 mins I don't get bored. But running for 30 mins does feel boring I think because you focus on each step and the other and the other, etc. and it gets really tedious focusing on the effort of each step. Goddamn this is not easy to explain in English Iol

I've been reading about burpees, do you guys recommend doing those?

By the way: I'm new to HIIT, how many days a week should I do those?

If I lift weights 3x a week and play football 1x week, one day of HIIT will be enough? Or should I do at least 2 days of HIIT?

>lifting three times a week
You’re not gonna make it

Make what??

Burpees are good, but they're anaerobic unless you do them really slowly or have some god-tier cardiovascular conditioning.

Do you run manually? WTF? Why do you have to think of each step? Do you breath consciously, too? Do you have to think of every bite when you chew? How far does this go?

The more you HIIT the more results you get, that's all. I don't know shit about fitness but for months I did a full body resistance circuit follow by 16 minutes of HIIT at 25on/35rest. Lost around 10kg of body fat in a couple months.

>HIIT
lol

just do hill sprints.
4x 100m to 150m twice a week.
add one sprint every third week
