He's right about this BUT I did see a recent study where women look at a mans body before his face, whereas men look at a woman's face before her body. Now that's just first impressions but it seems as though an ugly guy at least can get a chance with a nice body. In the end obviously women get laid no matter what but it seems possible for a 3-4/10 dude to move to 6-7/10 by being fit.
