pretty gud, I've started learning the jerk

stupid obsolete sport that attracts geeks

i did it for like 5 years i know a thing or two about it

I think my appendix needs to be removed, I just got a shot of morphine and they're waiting on some blood tests. Other than that fine.

I broke my knee. Haven’t done much except pressing, trying out machines for some bodybuilding, and some light power variations from blocks the past week. I’m hopeful of being able to continue as I used to in a couple of days.

Going for a 125 8rm on front squat today goys. Goal is 135 for 8 by the end of summer.

pls be in kgs. also good luck; high-rep front squats are hell

>8rm front squat
For literally what purpose

Yup kg

Coach wants me to build strength, size, and work capacity. It's definitely working. Gone from 100 for 8 to 115 for 8 in a short amount of time.

is your coach american

fucked up comp my guys
>get sick day before, barely sleep because fever, can't eat, diarrhea all morning before I drag myself to venue
>nobody to handle me, people change their weights so my last warmup at 75 happens right before I'm up to sn 91
>miss next attempt at 96 because had to wait for 8 people to lift first
>try to learn my mistake on cj but 2 people both move up openers as I'm doing my last warmup on 110
>have to run to platform after less than a minute's rest, fuck up and press out 115
>make 115 on next att but get pinned by 118 on final attempt

At the very least I equalled my best sn in training and improved total by 4kg but jesus fuck I'm not competing again until I have non-disgusting lifts and don't get pinned by childrens weights

on the bright side due to the diarrhea I was the lightest I've been in years, 80kg bw

my OHP and squat are the same. I have to haul my bar from the ground up-n-over and then I can squat with it. I'm getting two lifts in one. love it.

>poorfag here, no rack to hold my weights

lmao this is amateur oly wl for you

weak virgins in tights and heels

Yup. I don't do 8rms all the time. Mix of 3rms and squatting 4x4 and 5x3 just been like this the past few months. Is an 8rm that bad to do?

PRd my backsquat by 5 kilos 3 days ago and attempting a FS max today. Hope to get another 5 kilos there too so I'm at 145/135. Goal of 140 fs this summer still lives.

I knew it. Why are americans so stupid? If you want to actually improve size, strength and work capacity you increase frequency and GPP.

American coaches like to program high squat volume, I think Max Aita gives his lifters 4x10 where the last set is AMRAP like every week

Caladan is a chad what u on m8

still weak tho hehe

Get some blocks and do anderson squats

Why not up frequency? It gives higher overall volume while reducing stress and facilitating technique through gaining a higher amount of quality repetitions.

IDK man I just do what I'm told. What kinda gpp should I be doing? I've been adding in bodyweight exercises, shot put/discus practice and football running drills a few times a week. Not really sure that counts as gpp though.

depends what you mean by frequency
e.g. 4x10 at 100kg = 4000 total volume
vs 2 days of 6x2 at 130 = 3360 total volume

personally my knees bother me if I squat more than 3 times a week so I'm open to ideas for my quest to 180

>1RM testing next week
>feeling strong, squats feeling light
I am ready.

I mean like 5-6 times a week, squats every session, the way we program here.

So I'm vegan now and I hit PR's on all lifts last session, is this a coincidence? Thank you based Clarence

here being? not that I disagree but there are lots of ways to get a strong squat besides daily squatting

agree about the gpp though

most of yurop except anglosphere Tbh

how does one get into oly lifting?

Go to a weightlifting gym

So is it not worth getting into? I’ve always been interested

and get a coach

I failed.

Good idea, thanks user.

That's okay, buddy. Keep trying hard.

Will do some volume tomorrow and try again next weekend.

Sprained my wrist front squatting 138. I should kill myself probably.

Question for you lads, if I'm interested in training thess movements (purely for the movements themselves, not looking to compete) is there anything special I need to know about programming it? For reference I'm doing Candito's intermediate program at the moment.

>all the weightlifting gyms are $100+ per month
>coaching probably costs at least another $50 per month if you're lucky

why the fuck is weightlifting like this? throwing up cost barriers to people and acting confused as to why it has so little interest?
I love watching it, I'd love to participate, but it just seems like it's deliberately designed to make good training resources as inaccessible as possible.

You should find a handler.
I mean, I can only Sn 70 with a 110 CnJ, but even I know this shit's easier if all you have to do is warm up, lift, and chat with coach. Find a handler, and practice competing until you've got it figured out.
I'm not saying you should go 6/6 or some bullshit, but you're better than this. At least you didn't bomb out.

youtube.com/watch?v=qVlAJR3Gggc

Unironically Crossfit. Look for a gym that has WL-specific sessions and coaches who came to CF from WL rather than the other way around.

It's 60 euros, coaching and all where I live
No idea m8. But don't do oly on your own. Just don't.

>But don't do oly on your own. Just don't.
this

Finally going back to the sport after 6 months of herniation pain and sciatica. Hope I'll go back to 250+ iwf but I have almost no time to train because of work.

Also
>Americans complain about other countries doping
>Meanwhile they have cheerleaders/gymnasts who started 3 years ago who lifting elite weights

And this is where the prices start to make sense. It’s a highly technical sport, not just ‘hurr I go to gym to do 3 hours of bicep curls’. I’m not an oly lifter but from what I understand, you have to start really early if you want to have a shot at being above mediocre.

How long until 2 plate front squat?

bout three fiddy

Bump

train them as a warmup to your routine, so do 10-15 minutes bar, 10-15 minutes with 40, then maybe 10 minutes for your work sets (e.g. 6x2). It will probably take 40 minutes but on the bright side the bar work is actually great stretching anyway so, 2 birds with 1 stone

The problem with doing wl for fun is that you need to have good form for it to be productive, otherwise you might as well just do power cleans or plyo

there was nobody available, just a local comp anyway

squatted 340 for 10 triples today, felt pretty good

>too much of a weak, dainty little bitch to move heavy weight
>discover you can play with a bouncy bar instead
>become a full blown crossfit cuckold
>your activity is functionally useless
>you still look like shit
>mfw

that's just so fucking embarrassing lmfao.

second one was way better than the first one, if i recon, Zack Telander said this kind of shit happens because you're not activating your muscles during the pulling phase,

youtube.com/watch?v=BmG0kbRVPnQ
this one

Why are you tagging BBM and SS? I don't see a single squat video

>Zach Telander
>Activating muscles

I suspect this is gonna be useless for the dude

Will probably switch from split to power

Yeah I noticed that too. I think I know how I did it.

Yeah I did that too. Split jerks are just too hard tecgnically

Pyrros was a beast

tightness*

Yeah, I have the mobility for squat jerks so might even go as far as that

Reposting this. is panzer here

i back squat 170 but i cleaned 130kg the other day almost jerked it LOL. Without having trained oly in a year. explain this

i deadlift conventional 250 tho. Ye my squat sucks coz i havent figured it out yet oncei figure it out ill be squatting 220+ in kgs in no time
