Jow Forums related Majors/Careers. Going to Uni in Fall and still undecided
Lesbian studies
Depends on your country's region's economy but engineering, finance, management, law, medicine, applied mathematics (get fucked, /sci/) should be safe bets more often than not. I guess also stuff to do with software or whatever but the onions consumption amongst the students of those arts are rather high, I heard.
>going into uni undecided and not knowing what you want to do in life
A peasant is born
Kinesiology, Physical Education if you literally mean Jow Forums related.
Those won’t make you a ton of money right out of the gate though. Also, if by Jow Forums related you mean you’re interested in helping people better themselves you could look into becoming a therapist(don’t know what major that is) or social worker of some kind.
I’m getting a bachelor’s in math. What jobs can I get without a masters?
>Those won’t make you a ton of money right out of the gate though
or ever
wish i lived in the USA so i could become an officer in the army
You faggots never listen to me in career threads. Just become a technical writer. No degree necessary and you can easily make 60k starting out. It's a hidden gem career.
it requires a bachelor's.
Nah nigga. I work with 3 people and they only have high school degrees. Granted they are in their 30s though so they have "experience"
>go to uni for software dev
>every other major is worried about getting a job
>graduate
>make 82k/yr @23 within 3 months of graduating
>most my dev friends making around the same
>all non software people pulling ~35 k
>have to watch out for gold diggers
>avoid telling people what I do because people use me as a walking loan
>bench 365
>squat 440
>dl 495
>too chad for nerds
>too nerd for chads
In order of value:
AP Bio is a good class no matter what you major in.
Dietician
Phys Ed, and gym classes, obviously,
Sports/competitive lifting etc
Physical therapy
>Jow Forums related Majors/Careers.
Go for the virginest career and stand out by being shaped like a god.
How Jow Forums is being a lawyer?
felony prosecutors and corporate are all chads and stacys. Not that I'd go into either of those garbage fields of law.
>get degree in broadcasting
>can't find a career 3 years after
>go back to school for a masters in logistics because I work for a delta subsidiary
Collegefags, don't skimp on your internship. That's all I'm gonna say
kinesiology is filled with athletic babes. shit for long term prospects though. take some as an elective to get out of the penis-hell that is STEM.
Do yourself a favor and read this instead.
Fucking brainlets.
man trumps arm get's smaller everytime i see this image. I think I'm making it lads
What I have learned from my mates is that you should study something where you're the best in, not only just 'good', even if it's a bit too easy/low for you. My old friend tried to study computer engineering, failed, learned car mechanics and was the best in it because his class mates did have a lower school degree. He easily got in a leading position. A similar thing happened to a girl, she was average at maths and just made a apprenticeship in financial stuff instead of studying, was easily the best and was leading a branch store after some time. Don't go too high in the beginning with your life goals.
It's not like a gym where you want to train with stronger guys to become stronger. Imagine someone would come to the gym and hire the strongest guy for whatever job, coaching, elite level stuff, he wouldn't hire you because there are stronger guys training with you. I have dozens examples where only the top 3 guys get a good job, so be one of those 3 guys. And someone dumber than you can easily earn more money than you if he learns low shit and gets promoted.
Americlap or Yuropoor?
The general rule's to get a masters.
It would help to know where you live because I can only tell you how the situation is where I live (rich, highly industrialized region in western central Europe with an abundance of large and especially medium sized companies). If your situation is similar and your focus is business relevant, I'd wager to guess that junior coding positions in small and perhaps medium companies should be open to you. Alternatively, if you took additional courses in business administration an the like, banks and insurances are an option. Although I'm pretty sure that you'll face a lot of competition from people with either masters in math and physics or business bachelors with a specific focus. Anyway, you should get a masters degree if you can.
How exciting is being a code monkey? I could consider it, since there is nice money and programming seems interesting enough
I mean yeah, unless you leverage your knowledge through writing or something like that to make more money. He didn’t ask about money though. He was asking for Jow Forums related majors. Economics, engineering, whatever else would make more money and that’s why everyone else is suggesting it. Though they aren’t Jow Forums related.
Starting your own business is the only way. Maybe not immediately but that should always be your end game.
this, who /compeng/ here?
My plan : comp eng undergrad, finance masters, hedge fund analyst, eventually managing my own hedge fund
I fell for the STEM meme and was a biology major.
Pretty much the only jobs I could do without a Masters was teaching or lab work for the salary of a McDonalds major. I lucked out and got a job as a forest ranger at the eleventh hour though.
Really depends on the gig and the people you work for
I would generally recommend avoiding startup work unless you know the team you work with is not a bunch of pretentious dickheads
Government contract work is full of good people but moves pretty slow and it's not as cutting edge as some startups
University itself is pretty pointless unless you have finished side products and internships. Anyone who is half intelligent can get the c's and a degree but the market is so flooded with worthless degrees right now that companies want to see extra effort and passion.
Hmm sounds good, I will think about it.
Currently 2 years deep on a bachelor in business, but not sure if it's for me. And I have no idea how to get a job or if its even possible without a master's.
Amerishart. I’d really rather not get my master’s, I’ll figure some bullshit out. Maybe I could be an actuary, I should start studying for the exams.
lawyer in unobtainable. 300k in debt if you go to a good school. if you don't go to top30 school you won't get a job
if you fail to plan you plan to fail
Take a 100 level to see if you are any good at programming but don't start jumping majors until you have done a bit of research.
Alot of people end up dropping uni altogether just because there are so many options and they are unsure of what direction to go and how to get there.
Really good advice, thanks bro. I honestly am overwhelmed right now and don't know what to do with my life. Also I'm a bit tired of school altogether, and was considering finding a low tier job as a waiter or something for a year or two. Make money and travel a little bit and focus on my hobbies.
I'm 21 and I'm dealing with some self esteem issues I think. I sometimes think I'm not good enough to do certain jobs or study certain things, because I'm afraid of failing. It causes me to not try sometimes, because if I don't try I can't fail, right? Well it's a toxic mindset and I need to sort out my life.
Thanks for the advice bro, appreciate it.
Don't drift around life aimlessly like a jellyfish or one day you wake up at age 36 with a bad tattoo and hair loss and wonder where all the time went. If you take time off you need a plan and goals to work towards or else you start drifting and then hating yourself for not having structure in life.
Happiness is many times a byproduct of achievement my man. All the worries and the problems and self esteem issues you have are shared by most 21 year old dudes. Successful people absolutely have all of those self doubts but they succeed because they are not immobilized by that fear of failure.
I think a decent place to start is defining success and realistic goals. If success to you is making 145K right out of uni then you will be unhappy because it is an unreachable goal. But if success means having a decent gig and chilling with friends on weekends then you probably will be happier because you have accomplished something.
Yeah, makes sense. Thanks man, I appreciate it. I think I will make completing my bachelor my goal currently, and stop being such a worrisome faggot and just study the best I can. I have it well on the social front and it goes okay with girls too, so I have nothing to complain about.
Thanks user, I needed that post.
Lmao AP bio is so fucking boring I almost killed myself

Have a prof who did most of this.
Learn a trade. Especially welding.
You fucked up by going biology and not going into healthcare. It’s a shit major for everything else unless you get a PhD and become a professor or high-up researcher in a lab.
