This world isn't pointless and you don't need someone else to give your life meaning. Meaning in life is derived from the self. Find something that matters to you. Obviously, theists derive meaning in their life in the belief in something greater, but I think there are less hollow things in life you can gain meaning from.

Life isn't pointless, otherwise God wouldn't have created it. We do live in a fallen world though thanks to man. Hold fast to your faith, be more than just someone who is going to go to Heaven. Truly dedicate your life to Him and do your best to cultivate Heaven on earth. Become grounded in the gospel and spread it.

Don't obssess over death and escaping the material world. You need to find ways to experience eternity in this world. Mysticism can make you feel more at peace and make the world feel like a more tolerable place. Thomas Merton is a good one to start with. Or if you want a more recent author who has good explanations of the mystical path, I would recommend Richard Rohr. Both of these authors are Catholic, but their teachings have a pretty broad scope.

Do you live in an overwhelmingly liberal area? I ask because I became disolutioned with Christianity and religion period until I moved to a more conservative area. My mom was a volunteer Sunday school teacher at our church. Then my dad lost his job and we fell on hard times. We ended up shunned as a family for our lack of contribution, that church was all about social posturing and virtue signalling apparently.
Wasn't until adulthood and moving south I returned to church. I decided to visit an Orthodox Church out of curiosity and mentioned briefly I was new in town and looking for work and left with 3 job offers. I've been with them ever since, I took a job with a renovator, and I'm courting his daughter by his request, she's great by the way, I think I love her.

I used to be suicidal, I also used to be Christian. If your a Christian suicide can be a comforting idea, you kill yourself and off you go to heaven. I recently became atheist after a very bad experience with psychedelics. I never take life for granted anymore because after I die my consciousness will cease to exist. It’s hard to find comfort in death when you can’t experience comfort or anything because you don’t exist. Death terrifies me now and I could never imagine taking my own life no matter how deppressed I become.
