Why'd you start out so high? Have you done grip work before?

Looks like a great way to get carpal tunnel syndrome.

Musicians have used shit like this for hundreds of years to try and build strength in their hands and have had to give up their instruments due to the damage they've done. If I was you I wouldn't have started so high.

I've been going to the gym now for almost 2 years so i have a pretty good grip strength, but i thought the challenge could improve it more

LMAO you’re not going to be able to close it just FYI

i know that was the point, i wanted a tough one so i can work on being able to close it over time

Yeah, because the best way to improve your deadlift is to use more weight than you can lift and then work on lifting it over time.

This makes zero sense.

ever heard of negatives? and I never said anything about deadlifts

#3 is way too high. If you're exceptionally strong and your job involves working with your hands you might be able to close 1.5, maybe even #2 if you have really big hands. If all you got is two years in the gym and normal sized hands #0.5 might be appropriate.

You won't be able to close it with both hands bro.

My man i have all of them, i bench 335 and sometimes close the 1.5

Good luck

im going to make this little piece of metal my bitch and nobody can stop me

I believe in you bro, 100%, but you're going to need the lighter ones or some other kind of grip training to get there.

With two years of lifting that thing is going to make you look and feel like a bitch user, hopefully you can budge it a mm

Train hard

Like the other anons said, you will learn that the number 3 is an absolute fucking unit. I have been training my grip for a while with these things and you will see how hard a 3 really is. It's at a level that you will not be able to keep training and trying and eventually reach but go for it LUL

Bro, Bugenhagen can't close it and he's been training grip specifically for years, if you see his videos on his channel his grip strength is literally on par with Klokov or Eddie Hall
That's a stupid analogy
That's like a 250 kg obese kid trying to do negative pullups
All he'll manage is to dislocate his shoulders

Don't be an idiot, start lower

Bench has nothing to do with grip strength so I don't know what point you think you're making.

There's high schoolers benching 700 pounds, you're not even that strong.

I said it to show i've been training a while

How much you bench? You know anyone who actually benches 700?

Post bod and face i'd like to see how stupid you look, i'm imaging like severe retardism

I am with you on this one. Post a high schooler who benches 700 raw and holy shit are you dumb if you think a #3 doesn't take intense amounts of dedication and progression with lower CoC grippers.

you dont start with coc 3

buddy trust me you're gonna want to buy the #1 #2 and 2.5# to train up to it. To put things in perspective I can close the 2.5 a couple times but still can't close the #3

There's one high schooler benching 700 lbs, I doubt there are any other than poursoltani. That's in a shirt btw. The world record for raw benchers is 738 lbs.

not dingus OP I can close #2 10 times but not close #2.5

I said raw lift.read a book you mong

Is this you faggot?

okay so if everyone is saying to start lower what would be a better decision to start with if i already have good grip strength

You don't have good grip, you have a small brain and smaller testicles and i suspect you of homosexual tendencies

this

I can close 1.5 twice, not even close to getting #2 closed, even if I help out with my left hand so negatives, I find, are hard to do. Been training diligently with the CoC for half a year and I started with the T, the one under #.5 when I could deadlift 147.5 kg

yeah well youre on Jow Forums so do you expect anything less? i could say the same thing about you and everyone here and i would be right

>nu uh!! YOU not ME!!
This is you faggit

If you have a strong base grip start with the 1 but each .5 increase is ridiculously tough compared the the previous gripper it'll take you maybe a month to close the 1 a couple months to close the 2 and a year and a half to close the 2.5 if you keep at it. Also theres a good chance you'll peel the skin off your pinky from the aggressive knurling these things have

I have the #1. Can't do as many as I'd like because it tears up my skin. Wish the grip wasn't so rough. Any suggestions?

Your hands will get tougher

What’s the point of increasing your grip strength unless you’re an athlete or strongman?

Being able to hold your mum down as i split her in two

i want to be able to make mashed potatoes with one hand

because it feels good to grip mog someone in a handshake

I want to bend penises mightfully

don't want your hand getting tired when you're under the Queensboro bridge jerking off punks for $15 a man

>What’s the point of increasing your ... strength
Being strong

Magnus Samuelsson could close the #4's

there are much better uses of your time to increase your general strength than to waste time on this meme exercise lmao. Unless you are a strongman training 3+ hours a day this is a total waste of time and money. I bet most of you that bought this are larping as athletes and can barely deadlift 405.

My gym has a bunch of these laying around, going from 1 to 4. #3 and #4 just feel like hunks of metal, no give no nothing, like they aren't even supposed to be squeezed.

That said, I made the most progress on grip by doing thumbless deadlifts, blob holds, plate pinches, and doing cable work by just holding the end of the cable(no handle).

i bench 3pl8+ and can get the number 2 for 5 reps or so

It's basically for funsies during traffic or office work. Grip strength is kind of a fun novelty.

This is argueably a functional exercise depending on how often you shake hands with people

you won't even get it to budge.

Idk if it helps but jujimufu does these by doing negatives on the one he cant do. Hell close it on his leg then the try. To keep it from opening for 15 seconds or so, then do the other hand, then actually wait 3 minutes and do it again for 5 sets or so. Im sure he got it from someone else.

I train with Odd Haugen and desu you're all megapussies if you can't even close the 3.5

Use a file

Eat my shit, Martins
