it was 1rep to be safe but I did 5x5 80kg before that

Grats you are now at your final destination weight for becoming aeshetic as fuck.
You're not a silly powerlifter are you?
weak
Im not a powerlifter i just go to the gym 2 or 3 times a week
well the thign is, i squat 2pl8's but my dl is still 1pl8
I got a weak back, my back is always hurting when I wake up
If you can squat 2pl8 but only deadlift 1pl8 your form is absolutely inexcuseably terrible.
Grats user, I remember when I did this for the first time. Keep working hard, we believe in ya. You're gonna make it brah
not really, my physisian tought me to squat cause i got back pain and back problems
So my form is 100% alright
im very tall and have a weak back thats probably why my legs are stronger than my back
I need to deadlift more but th ething is I already harmed my back once so I need to be careful with not deadlifting too much and fucking it up
>1pl8 DL
If your back is hurting and you can't break 1pl8 then your form on squat or DL is terrible or you have a serious medical condition.
See:
It feels so legit when that bar starts to bend
Im about a month out from squatting 2pl8 again
What kind of spagetti bar bends with 2pleight
Learn how to deadlift correctly.
Unless you are morbidly obese then it is impossible for your squat to be way higher than your deadlift
I am not even sure mine bends at 5pl8 at my shitty Comercial gym
I bench 2 plates, dl 3 plates, but barely squat 2 plates....
Bro, just do trap bar deadlifts and add in good mornings and ab work. Way easier on your lower back and if you're not competing there's no need to do traditional deadlifts, especially if it's doing more harm than good for you.
Congratulations, user. I'm proud of you.
Well my legs have always be trained hard and my back almost never so it makes sense.
Yeah I guess every body is different. Im 196cm myself
Yeah thanks alot!
>I got a weak back, my back is always hurting when I wake up
then make your back stronger doing deadlifts with good form so that the squats don't make it hurt every morning
do you think my back hurts because of the squats?
Yeah ok ill try to do more deadlifts but I have a very hollow back
It happened to me when I started lifting seriously, but as my deadlifts went up the back pain disappeared. You can try deadlifting less than 1 plate and gradually go up always using perfect form if you think you can't lift 1 plate without bending your lower back and therefore hurting yourself.
Ok yeah ive always been tall (196cm) and have had a weak back and also pretty sure i have lumbar lordosis so maybe I should try some more
ill look up vids of good dl form
>not really, my physisian tought me to squat cause i got back pain and back problems
>So my form is 100% alright
Watch the Rippetoe video, it's easy to follow and very helpful.
Slamming two big boy plates on a bar for the first time feels great, I remember my first time well. Congrats OP.
HELLO!
MY SUGGESTION ... TO INCREASE THE LBS ON YOUR DEADLIFT AND RELIEVE YOUR BACK PAIN IS TO INCLUDE WEIGHTED BACK EXTENSIONS INTO YOUR ROUTINE AS AN ACCESSORY, ISOLATE YOUR ABDOMINALS AT THE END OF EVERY SESSION, AND USE A HIGH-HANDLED GRIP W/ THE HEXBAR.
CORE STRENGTH IS IMPORTANT FOR ANY LIFT. MUSCULAR WEAKNESS/IMBALANCE LEADS TO UNDER/OVER COMPENSATION, WHICH LEADS TO DYSFUNCTION, WHICH LEADS TO PAIN.
THIS ISOLATING WORK FOR THE LOWER BACK IS COMPLIMENTED BY A MORE LEG POWERED, NEUTRALGRIP, ARMS AT THE SIDE OF THE BODY, VARIATION OF THE DEADLIFT. USING THE HEXBAR TO DEADLIFT IS EASIER ON THE LUMBAR MUSCLES.
What if my gum doesn't have an autism bench?
hypertensions is what they call these and im already doing them as well as ab exercises
I dont even understand how somebody could deadlift less that 1 plate, are you a female?
Quick question: how should you program in deadlifts? Like reps and sets and frequency. 5x5 has them like every other day and only one set of five, but I’m trying to do total body every other day.
RAISE/ADD WEIGHT TO YOUR ABDOMINAL AND LUMBAR WORKOUTS. MYSELF, I AM DOING WEIGHTED INCLINE CRUNCHES W/ 40LB 3X11 AND WEIGHTED HYPEREXTENSIONS W/ 35LB 3X11. RARELY DO I EVER GET BACK PAIN, AND MY LIFTS FEEL COMFORTABLE.
I get calf pain after squatting, what am I doing wrong? Specifically, the outside of my calfs are painful.
>Im 196cm myself
conventional deadlifts may not be a good idea for you
do you have long legs relative to the rest of your body?
i second this. i used to do this with a barbell. my current gym only has a machine for it which i max out way too easily so i stack plates on it.
ALSO, SHUT THE FUCK UP
Despite the caps extravaganza. This guy has very valid points. Your deadlift wont be doing very much back muscles as it's a lift driven by the hips.. Core exercises are going to help you maintain a stronger form for nearly all exercises.
Ok. So if 1/2/3/4 is a meme, what should I train strength to before moving to aesthetics?
Yes
with long legs relative to the rest of you and at 196cm tall it's possible you can't really get in position to deadlift without rounding your lower back
this isn't super uncommon especially with tall guys, the amount of hip flexion you need to reach the bar is extreme and may be beyond what you are structurally capable of
the issue with the deadlift is it starts at the same height for everyone, which is the diameter of a 45lb plate, which is really a completely arbitrary starting position, so someone who is 6'8" is basically pulling from a deficit and someone who is 5'2" is basically doing a low rack pull if you look at where the bar is relative to their shins when they start the pull
*radius of a 45lb plate
thanks this is really good info
but my physician told me i was doing the deadlift alright when i did it
physician? did you drag your doctor to the gym with you?
but anyway if you can get into position without rounding your lower back or having a ridiculously horizontal torso (like parallel to floor or shoulders below hips even) you are probably ok to do conventional
no the doctor i went first and he sent me to physisian? the people that help you with bones and back and stuff
not gyropraktor but physical maybe? idk english word
the people that help old people too
Is 2pl8 really that impressive? I’ve been lifting for 8 weeks and I can squat 2pl8 for 8 reps, and I’ve been on a cut.
physiotherapist
no
yeah that one
yes it is
Stop b8 m8
wat
That's so great user, im proud of you. I remember when I did this when I was 12 years old , i worked so hard for it. Keep doing what you're doing. You're gonna make it bro
Why don't you just do sumo deadlifts lanklet? Why are you complaining about weak back? Literally all of the power off the floor of a deadlift comes from legs until you need to straighten up at the end, its not like your doing a row or something, is your grip strength bad or something?
because he's bent way the fuck over, so it makes him feel like his deadlift is all back (it is)
he should pull trap bar or sumo probably, i really don't think conventional is worth the risk for tall guys
Wait so 1 pl8 is 1 plate of 20kg/45lbs on each side?
So 2 pl8 is 40kg/90lbs on each side + the bar which is 20kg, meaning 100kg?
Damn that means I'm rather close, fuck man. Won't feel ashamed anymore once I hit the big round 100kg, since it's a respectable weight for anyone to lift.
>since it's a respectable weight for anyone to lift.
haha
2pl8's (100kg) isnt that normal
I almost never see anyone do it, lots of people who deadlift more though but 2pl8 squat is pretty uncommon in my gym
I have unironically liftes for 6 months and can 2 pl8 squat 5x5 at 5 foot 8 149 lb. Why the fuck do ppl have such weak squats
>someone who is 5'2" is basically doing a low rack pull
Top kek, manlets literally cannot deadlift
How's ur form
Super good and low i think its from soccer as a kid and that manlets have easier time w squats
That's good progress, squatting for reps is a whole different ball game tho, but good for you
most people dont care about legs, simple as that.
>hit lmao2pl8 squats
>suddenly all motivation to keep going is gone
FUCK
Doesn't help that I started out as a student and could go lifting at 8 or 9 am. Now I have to be at work by 7 am, no fucking way am I lifting before that. And lifting after work sucks.
how is this possible? do you never squat? if you can bench 2plaet you should be able to squat well over that.
God, I love being a manlet. I was squatting 130kg x5 after 6months on SS.
>UPPER BODY IS ALL THAT MATTERS BRAH!
about 80% of the gym doesn't deadlift or squat, it's true...all of it
Even world record lifters form arent 100%. Your forms certainly not.
>well the thign is, i squat 2pl8's but my dl is still 1pl8
what? My 1RM dl is pretty weak (295) but it’s still above my squat (275). How is that possible to only dl half your squat?
1pl8 is not half of 2pl8
You're a fkn moron, fkn explain how 1 pl8 is not the half of 2 pl8s , retard
135/225 = 0.6
Not half
American logic.
1 pl8 = 60kg
2 pl8 = 100kg
100/2=50
60*2=120
>Having no legs is aesthetic
Oh nononono
How long is a piece of string?
You have to give us more info about what your program currently looks like if you want a meaningful answer.
For the record, I deadlift once every three weeks following the rep scheme laid out in The Juggernaut Method
Your hips are shooting up causing the weight to shift forward o to your toes. Get stronger quads, and front squat more.
NGMI
good for you
