Why don't soldier get fit?

Too much cardio.

They are much fitter than all us fat muscley fucks who can't run a mile without dying

>can carry shit
>can do fuck all pushups/pullups
>can run
slobby pieces of shit HAHA

Can you run 3 miles user ?

>whos fruity rudy

no

Because bulking makes you a bigger target and more difficult to hide. A perfect soldier is a lean manlet with just enough strength to lift his backpack and enough endurance to carry it for 20 miles.

If you judge intelligence based on climbing a tree the fish would forever think it's stupid

But can they bench 225?

what makes you think they aren't fit?

Attached: tim_kennedy.jpg (500x667, 66K)

The size dosent matter, if that were a thing then we would only allow Manlet in the army, its purely because you put mass on when in the army, rucking all day long.

THICC

they do. They just dont do hypertrophy training and do mainly calisthenics and strength training following the russian weightlifting method

>The size dosent matter
It's common physics. A shell splinter or a stray bullet or is 56% more likely to hit "6.1 by "4 square, than a "5.2 by "3 square.

The reason army isn't picky, is because they can't be, they need manpower no matter what. Thin manlets are actually twice as likely to survive a battle.

I wonder what the army called their report on manlet-physics

>The reason army isn't picky, is because they can't be, they need manpower no matter what. Thin manlets are actually twice as likely to survive a battle.

People here are all wrong , the army NEEDS big strong tall people for many tasks , and the army could only wish all its soldiers would have been such men. But since they lack in quality manpower , they put the strongest people in places where you must be strong. For examples the artillery(Cannons don't load themselves and those shells are heavy) , the armor divisions(Some tank canons need to be loaded manually , also if your tank \ APC needs repairs , you must be strong to be able to repair it) , as for the infantry machine gunners have to be strong. In addition to that if you look at elite units they are almost elusively made from the strongest people both physically and mentally(You have to pass special "captured week" training in which your tortured to see if you would spill any info).

Remember these people have to carry very heavy equipment and supplies on their backs during training sometimes marching for dozens of kilometers , a weak exhausted manlet would be absolutely useless on the battlefield. As for why they aren't bulking as you would expect , they do a shit ton of cardio , and have crappy diets. As a soldier you might very well find yourself with rationed protein less meals , and disallowed from eating outside food(Pizza delivery guy in your own country might be an evil spy or terrorist ! order pizza and go to military prison , absolute geniuses).

Why ? Because the army leaders are retarded , they think you need to be accustomed to rations , so rather than have a few training weeks were you live on rations(Or maybe even ones were you are put on complete starve mode) , they would rather half starve you threw out your service(In fact if the common soldier decides to go with the diet he won't be hungry , but slowly you would loose your muscles and fat).

It gets dumber thought , they actually have a shitload of food the soldiers could eat(But they rather throw it) , ofcorse in some bases you could eat as much as you want(since the lower rank commanders and cooks seem to understand the need for a good diet) , but the high commands of the army , would rather see their troops half starved , I really have no idea why.

t former soldier.

>would rather see their troops half starved , I really have no idea why
anger

These are Marines, for starters.

Army PT uniform is gray and black.

endurance > strength

former infantry.

A ton of people in the US military are incredibly fit. It just depends on the person and the time. A lot of people in infantry roles have incredible cardio and muscular endurance. A lot of people in support roles are ripped because they have more time for the gym.

Timing makes a difference too. OP's pic is of Marines at boot camp, where everyone gets incredibly skinny because you never get enough food or sleep. But all of those guys will bulk up as soon as they graduate. Likewise, lots of people lost weight when they're deployed because the work schedule is much more intense and there's less time for food, sleep, and lifting.

tl;dr: it depends

Why? I would guess some kind of boomer wisdom.

yes

Wait, is it worth it to lift before training?

Attached: DrManhattan.jpg (292x453, 42K)

Sure, but the type of lifting you do should depend on what you're getting ready for.

If you're preparing for Boot Camp, you should be focusing on body weight exercises, like pull-ups and push-ups, and tons of running because that's the bulk of what you'll do there. [However, a big bench is the secret to becoming amazing at push-ups.]

If you're preparing for some kind of advanced training, like School of Infantry or Ranger School or something, where you do crazy long hikes with 100 lb. loads on your back, then you should obviously be trying to strengthen your legs and back with squats and deadlift.

That said, there's more than one path to fitness, and there are plenty of skinny dudes who have never set foot in the gym and still do incredibly well at all of their training schools. They just prepare in different ways.

Pic related are Marine Corps Body Bearers, the dudes who carry caskets of fallen Marines for funeral ceremonies. All of them are absolutely jacked and lift all the time.

My point is that there are plenty of huge dudes in the military, even though its not a requirement for most people.

You're confusing getting muscular/pulling big numbers that only impress virgins like yourself with actually being fit. Don't worry, it's a rookie mistake.

>Why? I would guess some kind of boomer wisdom.

Well they don't understand the importance of diet , they seem to think that muscles fade away the moment you get rationed "so it doesn't matter anyway".

Logistics aren't one of their strong points either , I remember talking to a female soldier whose unit was almost completely starved during a war(To the point were she was kicked out of her combat role after it , because she lost too much weight , to the point of looking anorectic and being hospitalized). Why ? They thought it would be best if you would get food only in certain "logistical points". Some units never had the chance to replenish in those points because they had to continuously move between one region to another for tasks , and the geniuses of commanders didn't think it would be appropriate to send them food supplies. That meant they had 3 options : Loot our own civilians , beg for food , or starve. Guess what happened to her unit in less than 2 months of fighting ? Soldiers were almost dead and hospitalized because they barely ate anything. Some units were more lucky and were closer to the enemy , so they could loot from enemy civilians for food , the retarded army commanders than decided to court marshal them.

And below are the MINIMUM requirements for becoming a body bearer:

F. Meets minimum score of 10 repetitions for the following exercises:

1) Bench Press 225 lbs

2) Military Press 135 lbs

3) Straight Bar Curl 115 lbs

4) Squat 315 lbs

But fish actually are stupid

That's not even a good pic of him. Dude's a beast.

you have to straight bar curl to be a bearer? really?

What army were you in?

Israeli \ IDF

Impossible to train literally hundreds of people of different size, strength, and fitness levels (and now gender too) all from 0630-0800 Monday thru Friday optimally. Then they either work manual labor or if they're a staff officer they sit in meetings and get railed by their bosses all day long leaving them with perpetually spiked levels of cortisol.

Trust me we try.

Just from my experience in the army, 90% of the people have no interest in building aesthetics. The ones that do workout to better themselves are only doing it for function, to pass their PT test. And to do that, it only requires to work on their run, pushups and situps. We rarely ever do weights at all for PT because we just dont have any and the gym is full. So we mostly run everyday, which makes it even harder to gain muscles.

Most people become fat due to excessive drinking and eating, just like they did back home. Knew a guy, all he did was drink beer on the weekends. Went from toned skinny to bear gut pudgy fat in less than a year.

However, you also see the other side of the coin and in military gyms compared to civilian ones like golds or planet fitness, you can clearly see which one is composed of people that look like the rock vs. average "its my first week in the gym" kinda people. So it's possible, its only the people who's goal is to get big and shredded that end up like that. The military provides you with all the tools, the rest you have to do your part.

Infact, I hear stories about people coming back stacked from deployment to the middle east because all you have there is lifting weights. It forces people who dont typically like that lifestyle to invest in themselves seeing as they have nothing better to do. Not infantry though, those poor guys barely get enough to eat when out in the field and dont have the luxury of sitting around behind the wire weight lifting.
