Funny because I had completely the opposite experience. I completed the 90 day no pmo/monk mode challenge about a year ago. Then I slipped. Ive gone a month or so before and be fine. The 'energy' is there in that it *feels* like I can pop, and I can without even being hard. The only down side is that it sort of hurts the first time after its been a while, and I get 'misfires', those odd ejaculations where something went wrong in the reflex timing, the same as you would feel if suddenly interrupted the moment you shoot. it really is an easy trick though, been around for at least a decade and a half. Anyone can look up how to use the host file to block & redirect websites.
It really is as easy as copy pasting, and most people have the sense to back up and file change anyways. I used it once to help a friend whos gf kept frying his pc with malware from fb. So we created a host file that blocked at least 15 google pages of fb proxies till she learned to use her own damn pc to play her idiot fb games.

You just have to be sure that they all redirect to 127.0.0.1 because that's the local IP
Otherwise if there is a different IP written before the site then you don't know where it leads, could be something harmful

No, at worse some parameter was missed in copypaste or over written and it will have no effect at all. So you can just try it again with a new copy of your back-up (that Im sure you made). I suppose its possible to block your connection with a similar error, but this is all super easy stuff to do.
Im not even sure you need a host file. If its deleted, Windows may just generate a new fresh one, I dont recall.
But no, messing it up doesnt cause an OS problem. Ive mis-entered hosts files before. The worst error is simply that it doesnt work and you just find the error or start with a new one. Super easy stuff.
Test one of the sites to be blocked and see if it worked for you.

It did, porbhub and xvideos don't connect no more. And I didn't make a backup, because I figured I could just delete all the links. I don't know much about computers, but I know they ain't magic, adding some links to a file won't fuck up the system, I doubt it would be possible to embed some sort of code in those links to make the changes irreversible.
