A study in the journal Atherosclerosis found that eating just 3 eggs or more a week was associated with a significant increase in artery-clogging plaque buildup in people’s carotid arteries going to their brain, a strong predictor of stroke, heart attack, and death. Those that ate the most eggs had as much as two-thirds the risk of those that smoked the most, the equivalent of a pack-a-day habit for 40 years or more.

This did not go over easy with the egg industry.

As revealed in a series of internal memos about this group of researchers retrieved through the Freedom of Information Act, the American Egg Board discussed the “wisdom of making industry responses when the public knows there is a vested interest…” So the Executive Director of the Egg Board’s “Egg Nutrition Center” proposed they contact “some of our ‘friends’ in the science community” to have an “objective, external source author the response.”

“If you do so,” the Egg Board wrote to one of their “friends” at Yale, “we’ll certainly compensate you…” But the prominent Yale physician refused to “participate in an overtly antagonistic letter” given his friendship with one of the co-authors of the eggs and atherosclerosis review.

>the Egg Board
Do they meet at an oval table?

>EAT EGGS, THEY'RE GOOD, I'M 95 AND EAT EGGS EVERY SINGLE MORNING
>I ATE EGGS DURING MY YOUTH AND THAT'S WHY IM HAVING HEART ATTACKS NOW AT 40

IT's genetics and it always will be genetics. It's something like 80% genetics and 20% diet. I know a guy who has been chain smoking since he was 13, and for as long as I've known him (15 years) he sits in his garage every weekend by himself and gets completely fucked up, from liquor, to beer, weed, smokes. He's 50, he goes to the doctor and the doctor says he is healthy as fucking horse. I bet if I lived his life style I would drop dead in a few years.

From the study: INTERPRETATION:
Our findings suggest that regular consumption of egg yolk should be avoided by persons at risk of cardiovascular disease. This hypothesis should be tested in a prospective study with more detailed information about diet, and other possible confounders such as exercise and waist circumference
>Testing at risk fags with already fucked bodies.

aeb.org/
It's probably an egg-shaped table desu

The only genetic factor is whether your baseline LDL is high/normal/low. If it's naturally high you're fucked and need to avoid atherogenic foods.

>It is seldom understood that this essentially means all people in developed countries who expect to attain an advanced age.

>and the doctor says he is healthy as fucking horse
Show blood work, brain scans, cognitive test results, heartrate, blood flow scan, blood oxygen level, liver biopsy results, lung clearance index.
The average doctor know fuckall without proper testing, and they also don't test for shit unless you request it or there's something wrong with you.

>Americans actually has an egg board
>The site links to the "eggcyclopedia"
Fucking incredible

Most doctors I know are just idiots in white coats who dont have own thoughts

GENETICALLY INFERIOR MALE

>yes goy, don't eat eggs. go vegan.

>corporate shilling has gotten so good that they have tricked both the left and the right into defending them

Anti-egg shills get out

Attached: egg.jpg (720x480, 41K)

fuck i eat like 3 to 4 eggs a day..

Rather die of a heart attack at 60-70 and have high test levels during my prime than avoid cholesterol and grow old in a nursing home. Protip: castrated males live 14 years longer than regular males, so cut ur balls off OP.

>Hmm okay lets do a correlation food study
>Lets quantify it by amount of eggs eaten
>Lets ignore the other diet they eat as that would make the study too complicated.
>Turns out unhealthy people eat a lot of things + eggs
>Eggs are unhealthy

I love food studies.

Just got my bloods done and my Cholesterol was perfect. I eat 1-2 eggs a day 5 days a week.
This is a meme

there's no proof the dietary cholesterol in eggs raise the levels of bad cholesterol in the body

Post blood work results

Except there is.

>he thinks cholesterol raises test
lmao

I got perfect cholesterol levels, confirmed by bloodwork, age 29, eating like 30 eggs per week for 10 years

Post results then

It's mental isn't it? The actual state of nutrition science is embarrassing

Egg yolk is like one of the few reliable sources of vitamin k2, which help prevent atherosclerosis. So how does this make sense?

Not the other guy, but strangely also 29, eating ~15 eggs a week for the past 9 years.
Here are my results.

Attached: bloodwork.png (621x616, 38K)

You have high cholesterol stupid.
>ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15172426
You're considered in the normal range because you're being compared to other unhealthy lards. Given your sodium levels I expect your blood pressure is elevated also. Fix your shit before you turn 40.

>eating ~15 eggs a week for the past 9 years.
Period of time doesn't matter so much. Cholesterol can only get so high and it reaches saturation within weeks/months iirc.

Where cunt? Post the evidence.

We don't know what else he eats so this is irrelevant anyway

Who cares what he eats? Cholesterol only gets that high when you eat things laden with cholesterol unless you're extremely rare and have a literal genetic mutation causing naturally high cholesterol levels. Interestingly, these are the people who all get heart attacks while young despite eating seemingly well enough. He likely isn't one of these people and it's his diet. Given that he works out regularly and presumably isn't fat there is no reason for his cholesterol to be so high. Being young, fit and lean means your cholesterol should naturally be low. He eats a very high cholesterol diet.

You're making a lot of assumptions

Actually 0 assumptions because he posted his bloodwork. Making assumptions would be assuming his cholesterol is high based purely off of what he eats. When you can see what is going on inside his body you already have your conclusion and can work backwards logically. The only steps that make medical and logical sense to reach the conclusion that he has high cholesterol is genetic mutation causing high baseline cholesterol or a diet heavily laden with cholesterol containing foods. The simplest solution is the most likely. He has already admitted to eating 15 eggs a week. Stop living in denial.

Did it occur to you that the eggs might not be contributing to his high cholesterol but something else he eats?

i eat 3 eggs every day
fuck you
i love eggs

>2018 and people are still arguing about absolute cholesterol levels and not remnant cholesterol

If you're going to argue about this at least keep up to date with the research

Are you being deliberately obtuse?
>m-maybe he's eating 5kg of ground beef a week just to equal his cholesterol intake from eggs alone :))

>it's a retard who thinks particle size matters
You're still going to get a heart attack, spastic

What is HDL and LDL?
Also my triglycerides which generally are used to check risk of atherosclerosis (which is what OP is trying to push) are very low.
Sodium levels are good, blood pressure is perfect 12/7.

Attached: 1530667198471.jpg (1280x720, 277K)

>pro egg research by egg proponents is biased
>pro vegan research by vegans is objective

i really feel sorry for the fucking retards that are going to lurk and start to think that eggs are a bad thing
holy fucking shit Jow Forums's level of stupidity has gotten worse than i could ever fathom

i eat unhealthy (mcdonald's, eggs)

i have regular blood pressure last time i checked, am i safe? had a blood test done, doctor didn't find anything abnormal (i have not looked at the results, nor do I remember what exactly was tested)

studies quite literally show remnant cholesterol is the best predictor for cardiac events brainlet

>m-my hdl is slightly elevated so my elevated total LDL and total cholesterol is okay!
Uh-huh.

>Sodium levels are good
Your sodium levels are not good and your LDL is two times higher than what it should be.

>blood pressure is perfect 12/7.
Believe it when I see it. You're already lying about shit.

>ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15172426
It's research by Paleo founders James O'Keefe and Loren Cordaine, retard. They're not vegan at all. Try reading the author's names and actually doing research.

LDL is biggest risk factor. Not exercising, high blood pressure, smoking, obesity, diabetes and stress are all secondary, contributory factors. You'll be fine most likely if young but it'll come back to bite you when you're 40+

Now, why would someone go on a crusade against eggs on Jow Forums?
Is it because they care about the health and wellness of fellow anons? Hmm? No, I don't think so
Is it because they are paid shills? Hmhmhmhmhmmmm
Is it because they are egg-headed? Certainly.

>Two times higher than what I think it should be, but otherwise significantly under any risk according to the general medecine
Ok.

The sodium is fine, I was actually taking sodium supplement because I had cramps and it's still in the normal range

>You must be lying!
Yeah that's totally why I posted my bloodwork, I'm 100% lying about everything, don't even trust the bloodwork !

>The sodium is fine
>2mmol/l away from being high
>fine

>I'm 100% lying about everything, don't even trust the bloodwork
Don't get emotional, I never said your bloodwork is fake, I'm saying you're trying to warp facts around figures and it makes you a liar. 2mmol/L from high is not fine. 133mg/DL LDL is high. 204mg/dl total cholesterol is high. You're claiming they aren't.

>ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15172426
>A study in the journal Atherosclerosis found that eating just 3 eggs or more a week
Those aren't the same

The study in the OP:
atherosclerosis-journal.com/article/S0021-9150(12)00504-7/abstract
3 doctors
Spence: Vegetarian
Jenkins: Vegan
Davignon: Vegan

What were you saying about research skeletor?

eggs are some of the worst things you can put in your body and they are pushed as a health food. Boomers watched Rocky and now they wanna be big and strong too! pretty pathetic.

I am not claiming they aren't, my doctor is.
I am not getting emotional or warping fact, I am presenting facts.
My blood pressure was 12/7 and 13/7 measured twice by my doctor., that's it.

Said doctor is also a sport specialist, because you were right, I do workout regularly and do tons of sport so I wanted someone a little bit better in that field than your average.

Hang on, so we have someone who eats eggs, two people who don't, presumably because they've seen the data, and this makes everything they say invalid? As opposed to a scientist who does the experiments, finds cholesterol is bad, finds that dietary cholesterol raises serum cholesterol.... and then chooses to slowly kill themselves with food anyway? What the fuck kind of logic is that? Would you go see a fat fucking dietician? lmfao

Whatever bro I can see you won't change your mind. Try and think back to this in 10-15 years when your doc sits you down and tells you it's time to think about changing your diet.

Test case here.

I got a blood test in 2017 at 92kg at 5’7, 29 years old. My blood test was all good besides cholesterol levels were a higher than normal.

I am slowly cutting to 75kg and I am eating eggs everyday. Once I hit 75kg I am going to take the blood test again and compare results and I will post them.

I am eating the eggs because I want to see if my bodyweight was the cause of the cholesterol or if it was the cholesterol intake from food.

I’ll screenshot this to remember and post results later if enough people are interested

Don't yolk with me. You think that this eggsagerrated research proves anything? That this can crack up the egg industry? Stop being such a chicken. Your scrambled sources are dated. Many anons here already reported how they had eggsaminations that reported they were fine. Quit being an egg head, man.

Attached: 1517797467165.jpg (184x184, 8K)

So bias is fine as long as it is pro-vegan / vegetarian.

I could not imagine my position being so hypocritical.

>he thinks low cholesterol doesn’t lower test
Lmao

You misunderstand me, I'm not hellbent on consuming tons of eggs for the rest of my life no matter what.
I'm all up for trying new diets that are healthier while still being tasty if I can.
I'm just saying, so far I have yet to be alarmed about my diet (which apart from the eggs and the milk is alright).
I feel good, my bloodwork is ok (well not according to you) and I enjoy what I'm eating. But that might very well change in the future.

>comparing cholesterol levels after losing weight
Wew we got a genius here

If zero dietary cholesterol lowers your test there is something wrong with your liver.

Hope your health stays good bro.

OI, fine
Give me a breakfast that is easy to make, healthy and that more importantly has a lot of protein, at least as much as three eggs, or maybe at least as much as two eggs while also being low in calories, and I will gladly adopt it

Why not just have TWO scoops of brotein powder

Deadass nigga that is what I have consumed for my breaking of fast

Cholesterol isnt unhealthy. It is what cells are made off. It is a blood transport protein for nutrients. Ge is heathier than avarage

You seem to be implying that because he has higher cholesterol that he has more cells and more transport for nutrients? Are you that stupid?

He has more nutrients being transportet around so.. yes. I am that stupid.

So... how much thicker is his blood with all those extra "nutrient transports" floating around in finite space? If he ate 20 eggs per week would he have more "nutrient transports"? Theoretically, how much would he have to eat in order to have maximal nutrient transportation capacity?

Too expensive for me.

>204mg cholesterol is high
not high enough desu

Attached: Cholesterol_vs_Deaths_newplot.jpg (599x346, 82K)

Greek yogurt, especially 0% plain, is basically pure protein

chartforants.jpg

No you're clearly retarded. Not OP but medical/biomedical research is a grade A shitshow.
Most MDs can't do statistics correctly to save their life in my experience, and rarely are there actually well designed studies that evaluate the effects of the food being studied. Controlled diets are near-impossible to attain, so there are always confounding factors. Their patient selection is also garbage, mean age 61 of course you will see atherosclerosing of the arteries. These patients were also already referred for consults with vascular specialists, something healthy people don't get. This study is equivalent to saying "if I sample water from a toilet I have just shat in, there is a statistically significant increase in the amount of shit present in the sample than from drinking water from the tap."
>t. 3rd year candidate in MechE focused on sports engineering and also high strain rate computational modeling of impacts.

>>t. 3rd year candidate in MechE focused on sports engineering and also high strain rate computational modeling of impacts.
Read this, didn't even bother reading the rest. Engineers are the most pretentious cunts in existence, completely insufferable. Design a machine to kill yourself with

>majority of people eat eggs along with bacon, toast slathered with butter, sausage, fried hashbrowns, and coffee doused with cream and sugar

Yeah it's definitely the eggs causing the artery clogging

Desu at least we're rigorous about experimental design and statistics. Also I'm going to work in the MIC, my machines won't kill me but they will help kill others.

This is the problem with non diet controlled studies

>the poetic irony when one of his machines DOES kill him
I pray for the day

What magical factor in all of those foods is causing atherosclerosis which isn't present in eggs?

I ate 3 of these knäckebrödmackor using 4 eggs and a shit-ton of kalles kaviar on oat grain knäckebröd for a GODLIKE breakfeast and you can just suck my viking dick if you don't inhale atleast 8 eggs per day

Attached: Kalles_jävla_kaviar.jpg (330x216, 11K)

Spotted the vegan.

Source? Is this more cholesterol meme nonsense?

Remember to ignore and report all vegan threads/posts you worthless fucking brainlets

His choledterol increases with his amount if nutrient intake. Not the other way around.

Beats are better than eggs. They're easy to grow too I have some in my lettuce bed. They have something like 2 times as much iron as eggs.

>Too expensive for me.

Protein is cheaper than actual food tho if you buy right

>his bed is made out of lettuce

get a load of this faggot

>not sleeping in lettuce
OK dyle

Nobody said that his cholesterol intake increases nutrient intake. He said it increases nutrient transports. Answer the questions I asked.

Should I buy the cheaper brands then?

>Given your sodium levels I expect your blood pressure is elevated also.

The absolute state of anti-egg retards.

Every post this moron made should be ignored.

Underrated af

Fucking summer Jow Forums and its broscience.

>REEEE milk

>anti-eggshells

Say what you will about eggs but milk and bread WILL kill you.

What the fuck is wrong with skim milk

underrated.
People probably dont get this since they dont see a relation between egg and an oval shape. But in portuguese egg is ovo and oval is also oval so I got the joke faster. Also in spanish its huevo and ahuevado.
there was a fucking superman pic in the store front captcha wtf?

Literally just googled the first sentence.
