Convince me why I shouldn't bro split as someone that's out of shape

Convince me why I shouldn't bro split as someone that's out of shape

A brosplit got me from 135 to 195 (I cut a couple times along the way).

A brosplit will get the job done. That shit doesn't matter. As long as you hit the muscles that need to be hit an adequate amount of times a week, and sleep well and thoroughly, and eat enough and healthily, you'll be fine.

I mean, they feel good. The pump is nice. Your progress will be slower but when you’re out of shape, you can make progress on anything, so do whatever you want. If doing a bro split will keep you in the gym but doing a fullbody will be so odious to you that you quit, then obviously a bro split is better. Try them both out, frankly.

Because it isn't as efficient as a scientifically proven full body beginner routine

But honestly bro it all about what keeps you going back to the the gym.

6-day bro split if you can swing it. Chest/Tris, Back/Bis, Shoulders/Legs 2x a week. Feels real nice.

Because they're an objectively worse routine than a 3x a week full body routine. You would be putting in a greater amount of effort for worse results

>wanting to lift only 3 times a week
Some people like going to the gym

why do you think we care what you do? I'm here for the memes, I'm not going to waste my time and energy educating you DYEL know-it-alls.

The days off are for recovery. But yeah it should be 3-4 times a week

Then do cardio

All these dudes itt talkin about optimal training levels are probably right, but there's more to it than that.

I switched to a brosplit from PPL because I became convinced of the benefits of cardio, so I wanted 2 days a week dedicated to cardio. I also was at the doctor twice for shoulder pain caused by shoulder pressing and bench pressing on the same day.

Sure you could make faster gains doing PPL or a fullbody split, but for a healthy lifestyle, pick something sustainable and varied. Bro splits are great for the long haul. Do a chest and tricep day, a back and bicep day, a leg day, a shoulder day, 2 cardio days with some direct ab work, and take a day off. See how it feels.

Absolutely based

>monday
Chest and shoulders
>Tuesday
Legs
>Wednesday
Back and arms
>Thursday
Chestand shoulders
>Friday
Legs
>Saturday
Back and arms
>Sunday
Rest

You can get like double the volume and still get sufficient rest.
>driving somewhere to run on a treadmill

you need a 2x-3x/week frequency on your muscles to properly maximise muscle growth

I'm personally doing UpperLowerxPushPullxx

Right, and what exercises do the chest and shoulders and back and arms days consist of

>driving somewhere to run on a treadmill
When did I ever tell you to do that?

Chest/shoulders
>bench
>OHP
>DB bench
>incline DB bench
>cable flies
>dips
>lat raises
Back/arms
>bent over rows
>t bar rows
>wide grip pull ups
>weighted pull ups
>DB curls
>ez bar curls
>seated dB tricep extension
>skull crushers
Legs even though you didn’t ask
>squats
>deads
>quad extensions
>hamstring curls
>calf raises

Please tell me how to do that without spending 4 hours in the gym

supersets

need db shoulder press on shoulder day

Cancer

Like everyone else said it's not optimal. Do SS or whatever variation of squat, dead, bench, Row (or power clean) that you want. After you've given your body time to adapt to doing full body exercises you can move onto a split and gain a bigger benefit from doing specific muscle targeting exercises. It's not fun but that's how training is sometimes. A year from now you'll feel and look better.

Also if you do listen to our advice on rest days be active. I do yoga, bodyweight/gymnastics stuff, and I go and throw discus and shot put.

literally just shitty PPL

Post your 3 day routine then, fagboy

I mean, with that program, just do chest/tris/shoulders, back/bis and legs. You just moved triceps to the pull day for extra shitty recovery

>>driving somewhere to run on a treadmill
why would a healthy adult male drive to the gym?
>to run on a treadmill
are you aware that cardio doesnt mean "exercising your heart at the gym exclusively"?

Also
Push
>OHP
>db bench
>flys
>lat raises
>skullcrushers
>forearm blaster
>cleans
Pull
>pullups
>row
>curl
>rear delt fly
>forearm blaster
>cleans

If youre out of shape, trying to get to the gym every day is going to be hard to keep up. Missing one day might completely fuck you over, but doing 2 or 3 days is easier to keep to.

low energy

This. You can do better than brosplit, but it's fine. It's not bad at all.
