Let me ask my /r9bros/: what would the ideal co-op pokemon game look like? For co-op, I wouldn't mind a pokemon dungeon feel where you get to choose yourself, and then you friend chooses himself and you go through the dungeons together. That would be a lot of fun. I'm not sure what a pokemon MMO would look like though.

Yeah, I guess so. Maybe back in the day when the pokemon sprites were reused for nearly everything except the actual battle, which had their own version, they could've done that, but I guess now, they have a wider array of sprites and probably have to spend some time making a walking set for each pokemon. Which for over 800 pokemon might be a pain now.

I mean there are like what? 400 or so yo-kai in yw3 I think all pretty detailed compared to 2d sprites. They work fine and don't lag at all except the zombie night minigame on old 3ds. I really gotta say there's not much of an excuse considering how big a franchise pokemon is and how requested the feature is.
