The idea is, 'My work that I managed to put together and distribute could in theory change someones whole approach to life, alter their entire viewpoint 10, 50, 100, 1000 years from now and potentially inspire them in some way to produce something of their own which then impacts someone else in the same way, all the while it still delivers a message itself at the time, or an idea in some form or another'. That is what good art is to me. I'm not supporting someones personal take of current events. I'm not financially supporting 'Sam Hyde regurgitates the news with his friends while smoking cigars'.
