Fun fact, this test (or rather a similar version) was developed by Sacha Baron Cohen's brother who happens to be one of the leading experts on autism in the world. A version of it is used by doctors to diagnose autism.

I suspect that could change the group is assigns your percentage from. Even though I'm clinical autismo - I said my cue reading skills were around equal to my friends and family or whatever the question asked. Despite that, I still expected a higher score.

Isn't that the point though? It's testing if the eyes truly are 'the windows to the soul' and how much the eyes express without context.

That reading people is a skill like any other than can be learned and honed if you put some effort into it? Also add the fact that aspies generally have higher IQ than the average joe and apply some analytical thinking to this test and you got yourself some bullshit results.

This. They did some FMRI scans that showed that frontal-cortex activation on recognition of faces was similar between Aspies and normies, but aspies had substantially diminished amygdala activation.
The frontal cortex is the part believed to be where forward planning and abstract thought takes place, also the seat of consciousness.
The Amygdala is part of the 'limbic' system and to be very simplified is the part of the brain that gets activated during emotions.

Interestingly apparently sniffing oxytocin, the 'love' hormone (it also causes more suspicion of 'out groups') will actually improve recognition of faces, and causes 'less stereotyped' behaviors in aspies and less obsessive repetition in people with OCD.

desu me getting diagnosed with aspergers was a very short episode that lasted a day and part of what supported the psychologist's decision was that I didn't understand certain idioms or phrases that I had literally never heard until that day. Another test involved discerning speaker intent through intonation, and I have a hearing problem.

Later I was introduced to lots of young adult aspies and some of them were clearly broken in their poor heads. The psychologist working among them noted I do better than they do. Yet I share many characterisitics with nerdy sperglords on this site in introversion, tastes, and abnormal opinions.

I think actual autism is way overdiagnosed and psychologists are quick and eager to label them for feathers in their caps.
