now i support the kurds and assad. the rebels are just a bunch of dirty islamists. assad is just resisting western imperialism. and the kurds are a truly libertarian socialist force in the area.

i think you are right on the first part. but isis did some really impressive shit in the beginning part of the wars. i almost wanted to join their side when i saw their propaganda videos. but they are right wing extremeists and they ended up losing anyway. i really don't care if assad is an authoritarian. i just think we should all be morally obligated to support a nation threatened by western imperialism weather we agree with that nations leaders or system. and yes rojava is a truly revolutionary place. they have gender equality. and they are kicking ISIS's ass. doing like 90% of the fight against them

No. Dragging a region into war is worse than being a bit more authoritarian. This region is a powderkeg and split across all sorts of ethnic and secterian lines. People like Saddam and Assad are important to prevent a complete self-destruction of this society and allow it to develop into peace and prosperity. Forcing americanism onto everything isn't always the solution.
