Why should students be forced to learn about literature, history, philosophy...

Why should students be forced to learn about literature, history, philosophy, or religion when it won't help them get a job?

Underage, you'll understand when you're older.

Because it teaches you to think, fuckhead. It enforces societal values (most, but not all of it is pretty good stuff) and informs you about the world. Anyway, history isn't really properly taught, and when it that happens, so do bad things. That's why we have morons like Antifa who didn't learn that antifascists fighting brownshirts in the Weimar Republic only galvanized the Nazis and strengthened them.

>forced to read Lord Of The Flies, I have no mouth and I must scream, 1984, To Kill A Mocking Bird, Of Mice Of Men

wow that sure helped me become a better person! Culture isn't really necessary anymore.

I don't think they should be forced to learn anything. Kids just want to play. I think they should be allowed to play and live a normal life. It's not humane to force them to study for hours on end just so that they can earn the government more tax money. It's not humane to sour them to the arts and humanities by associating it with being forced to do things they aren't currently interested in. Why put money above humanity?

The only education which should be mandatory is what is is acquired through necessity through one's life. It's how past generations learnt survival skills and such. This current system is so unnatural, so inhuman.

you are so fucking stupid it's simply beyond saving. all those things are very important to learn about if you want to live a happy life, the problem is that schools can't teach them for shit. you are so over your fucking head

Simple, because jobs aren't the point of our existence, you've just been brainwashed to think they are by the globalist capitalist agenda that wants to turn you into an unthinking serf.

>Culture isn't really necessary anymore.
The absolute STATE of zoomers! Come one kid, pay attention in class. I guarantee you that you'll benefit more from that than EBIC shitposts on 4chins.

Cause schools are meant to educate first and not about getting you a job.
Now you can optimize what you study to help you get a job but that's another thing.

>why should I have to learn history
jesus christ you are retarded

Complex thought is important to the well being of the individual and society as a whole, user. You'll undestand as you mature.

so you can give speeches

*be forced to watch Of Mice And Men*
*notice every time it's being referenced in TV*

wow so this is culture

Most students don't plan on becoming politicians or joining the military so it's not like they can repeat history's mistakes.

Education does not exist for sole purpose of producing more workers.

If you took no wisdom about life away from those books you re retarded

Not when you see how dumb the majority of people are amirite XDD

Point of studying history is to give you more wholesome understanding of the world around you, not to specialize you for employment. Better perspective gives room for larger vocabulary with more anecdotes, leading to better cognitive abilities.

Everything repeats itself, human behavior follows patterns, if you understand historical events it prepares you for the future
Fuckhead

not helping your case, bub
maybe I should type slower for you

because without the humanities we would look like every other shithole on earth

I was hoping for at least one (You). No one ever cares.

Because if we don't learn history we're bound to repeat its mistakes. We learn history so we know what ideas worked and why.

It makes you less autistic and more articulate. I'm guessing you are the type of person who can only hold conversations about pop culture, video games or anime.

Kids should be taught differently. They shouldn't be forced to sit at a desk doing paperwork for 6-8 hours. They need to be able to run around and interact with stuff.

>why should students be taught critical thinking skills

That was the mindset I had in high school, now I'm a brainlet.

These are the people who post here. These are the people who surround you and whom you have to interact with on a daily basis.
Humanity is doomed.

This is why I hate democracy. The average person does not give one shit about anything.

I almost agree, but I believe a simple test for literacy and algebra skills should replace all the mandatory schooling. Kinda like the GED.

keep begging the question bub
maybe you should type slower, for yourself
