I get you user, I was for a few years in Alaska with an old Nokia phone, worked out perfectly and never had any problems with it. I switched to smartphone too in 2015 and I enjoy the luxury but it was basically an overload of functions aswell as, how I feel, a misuse of technology. I use it for whatsapp, news, telephone and music nothing else basically.

Even though I don't use social media or text or play games, having a smart phone is bretty useful. I use to call (like paying bills and shit, not normie talk), gps navigation, reading pdfs, and listening to music. They can do multiple jobs of different devices. I also buy cheap chinese phones like xiaomi, not the overpriced samsung and iphone garbage.
