I work for min wage, have no benefits, make like $20k a year and have no days off other than accumulated sick/vacation leave which is like nothing. I don't/can't take those days off and get paid for them at the end of the year. Maybe like $500.

I have a BA a UC campus and graduate with honors. I would probably go beserk or kill myself if I didnt live with my parents.

tfw went to school, still have similar schedule. have to wake up at 5 am, my job is mind numbing garbage, I think my boss is trying to automate me, it's essentially data entry except you need a degree for some fucking reason. I hate it and spend half the day fucking around. However, we're going to open floor plan/cubicles soon and I wont' have privacy to fuck around anymore. I HATE IT I DETEST IT EVERY DAY I THINK ABOUT JUMPING OUT THE WINDOW AND DYING.
I have zero benefits or PTO. It's the temp-work treadmill. They take you on as "temp to hire" but fire you just before the temp period is up. idgaf I already have plans to leave this shit and make money elsehow, but I have to survive this a few more months

Did carts/register there for eight months. Some cool people there, ruined by the horrible cunt managers. They would stand by my register and see if I would ask every guest if they wanted a red card, as if there weren't 50 signs for it throughout the store. I refused and after their continous bitching I finally left and did pizza delivery for double the pay.

Im just starting out of college and Im getting 15 vacation, 10 national holidays off, 6 sick days, 2 personal days. It varies a lot between us

I got hired to work at a newly opened Chipotle. Went through their training and wasn't as enthusiastic about the Chipotle core values as the teenagers. I got laid off about 3 shifts in. I did three fucking interviews for that job. three.

I worked for Chipotle for 3 weeks. It was horrible, forced to smile, forced to stand on concrete and be degraded by customers and employees I quit after I got food poisoning not once but 2 times adding the fact I was only paid 10 bucks. Fuck fast food. Never again.

It depends entirely on the company. My father's pay is salaried (guaranteed no matter how much or little he works) and he is allowed 20 days vacation time a year. Not many benefits but the healthcare plan is pretty solid.

Tfw use to be wage cuck janitor. When 20. No college degree. But am now making 75 an hr after 5 yrs. You. Don't always get love wage cucks but those of us who were there always are nice to you because we wish you to do better someday.

This is a pretty big question user. And, as usual the answer is multifaceted. A big component of it, though, is the generalized attitude among Americans of "each man on his own" and "self made man" and "pull yourself up"
In short, most Americans just don' like giving or accepting help from their countrymen. All the shitty practices (pitiful mount of vacation days, zero guaranteed sick leave, stagnant wages, tax cuts for the rich, the gutting of the already minimal social safety nets and a LOT more) stem from this.
This pattern of thought is so fucking pervasive among Americans that you even see it here on this very board. Seriously, 99% of the time, Jow Forums users are always blaming their circumstances/genetics for their shortcomings, except when the conversation turns to finances. That's when they inevitably turn into these randian beings who earnestly believe that anyone can make it if only they work hard enough.
It's infuriating.
