Late gen Y should fall into Zoomer territory. I was born in 2000 and I played gamecube.

Late Y early Z

being born after 2000 give you a cursed birthday user, im sorry for you

So this site is just casual era babbies now. No more people who grew up in the Real Era. Sad.

Good. I would hope that people would grow up and leave this place.

i'm partial late gen X core gen y

I went from NES to N64

but my cousin had a SNES

Late Gen Y but the PS1 was popular well into the PS2's lifecycle here

Early/Core gen Y I guess
But I preferred my computer

My oldest is Core Gen X and my earliest is Early Gen Z. What does that tell you about me?

Late Y born 1999

I was born in 2000 but started on the gameboy and ps1 cus 3rd world

>consoles
I was PC master race before they called it PC master race

Attached: 1338617008393.jpg (2000x1500, 618K)

I'm a zoomer and I played on a console like 2 times in my life. And both of those times were this year

Early Gen Y, born 1989

I had older brothers who were into video games so I grew up with Nintendo consoles

Early Gen Z
made a mistake and bought the Xbox 360 should have gotten the PS3.

I forgot I also had the old Gameboy from my parents. The Gameboy colour and Gameboy DS.

Early Y plus GBA, even though I should be early Z

Gen Y, although I never owned a console, because my mother wouldn't let me buy one.

I didn't have consoles until I was like 15, if I wanted to play videogames I had to play them in my parents work PC.

the fuck is with the zoomer word how that come about?

This, sounds fucking gay

I was core gen Y, it was alright

Core Gen Y

I was born in '82

Kind of makes me an X/Y crossover. I always felt that my age group (those who turned 18 in 2000/01) were on the intersection between Gen X and Millennial. Most of my age group have done well for themselves. Except for me, I'm 36 next week and still posting on bawww9k

seems more appropriate to call it the outrage generation.

late gen x to core gen y and a bit of late gen y by proxy of others but I didn't own any of them

What was your age group called when graduating high school?

Agree, I was born in 1999 and I still have my ps2

You were just poor

Damn the feels I get seeing a 64 and that boxey ass gameboy, brings back memories of cartoons and poptarts.
I didnt need these feels so early in the morning OP

Early gen Z but used to play on ps1 and ps2 all the time. Man those were awesome consoles

t. underage zoomer.

Well, nobody chose to be born in the year they were born in, user....

Nice, I was born on Jan '98 and I still play the PS2 I got on Christmas of 2009.

We didn't have a name for it. There was just a big deal made about the fact we would turn 18 in the year 2000. I suppose that makes us Proto-Millenials or something. I dunno. I feel like we were the last generation to have it pretty easy. Everyone was out of University 5 years before the crash and tuition fees (in my country at least), were low. We grew up without widespread internet until our late teens, no social media of any kind, lived through classic Nintendo/Sega consoles era and the golden age of early 90s arcade games etc. Girls of our generation were nowhere the sluts they are today, many of them married fairly young and have some family values. No excuses for fucking things up really. But still, I did.

Core gen y
Late gen y
Early fen z
Core gen z
Late gen z
All these consoles except for dreamcast and of xbox were mine. I can officially say no sides can be taken here. [Spoiler] But Zoomers do annoy the fuck out of me when they say DOOM looks a lot like Halo and CoD.

born in 90 here, first console was SNES that my mother got at a yard sale. Though I remember being only 10 or 11 when the gamecube came out, it was first console that I actually got on release and didn't get second hand.

But mainly I consider myself a core gen Y.

Late Y
agree

also zoomer here, been using a PC for my games for ages, got a few consoles but never use them

came here to comment this

I know cause I was poor too. Born 97 and had a PS1 up until 2004 when we finally got a ps2

Also still on core gen Z consoles. It's good to play vidya on pc tho.

Core and late gen Y (born late 1996)

Early Gen Y, born 1985.

Attached: Sega Stack up.jpg (581x800, 145K)

Sega had some pretty fun ads back in the day.

Back in the days before we all had readily available internet porn and were too young to buy porno mags off the shelf/ rent porno vids....gen Y fapped to shit like this.

i don't know what it is about it that's just immensely irritating sounding and i resent it every time somebody types it out for making my brain verbalize it when i see it

Sonic 1 is pretty dull.compardd to 2 and 3

ITT: underage people larping as boomers

Late Gen Y. Loved playing San Andreas in my ps2.

>tfw always was a pc gamer and never had a console
Born in 1998 and started gaming in about 2005 so I guess I'm a zoomer

Yeah you probs are zoomer

Zoomer, the only console I ever had was a Wii (+DS/3DS)

None. I never had a console growing up.

My mom didn't buy me any vidya as a kid because she didn't like the idea of the violence. She cooled off on the stance enough that she probably would have bought them for me if I expressed the interest but I never had the desire to because I never had that initial exposure. I played games at my friends' houses and had fun, but never enough to want to start playing myself.

I think the only games I had for my computer growing up outside of flash web games were the I Spy games and a few Winnie the Pooh and Arthur games when I was really young and then RollerCoaster Tycoon and Zoo Tycoon when I was like 13.

Now it's different, but I still feel like that lack of exposure when I was young created a big disconnect between me and most people my age, both on Jow Forums and off. I think there's positives and negatives to it though.

Core gen y I mostly played n64 then late gen when I got a ps2/xbox/gamecube.

Should be early gen z, grew up with early gen y equipment

>tfw never got to play games as a kid
God, why did my parents have to be broke immigrants? I barely had a childhood.

Early gen zoomer here.

Zoomer gang represent.

late gen y was the most kino time to be a kid and play video games prove me wrong.

Core Gen Y
First console was an N64, and it's still my favorite console of all time. Sure the controller was fucked up but the games were amazing. Second favorite console is the PS2.

Late X here.

oh and i had a dreamcast too

What things would you say made the era kino?

>but I still feel like that lack of exposure when I was young created a big disconnect between me and most people my age, both on Jow Forums and off.
Yeah this. You can always get into things at a later age, but it won't feel the same. Experiencing this stuff as a kid is crucial in relating to others around you and developing a sense of belonging. If you were always left out, it's going to affect you into adulthood.

tfw my parents never bought me any console ever so i can't relate to anyone when it comes to games.

weelll most importantly that's when i was a kid but those were the golden days between the middle of old couch gaming and new online gaming. lan parties were a thing, couch co-op was alive and well, xbox live was the shit. just a really comfy time for gaming.

I was also homeschooled as a kid so it wasn't like there were a ton of kids around me, so I've always been kind of a loner. But I wouldn't say I was always left out since I had friends who played games and I hung out with them and watched them all the time, I just didn't have any interest in joining in. My mom always apologizes to me for keeping me from something so important to kids from my generation, but I can't ever remember her explicitly rejecting buying me a game or anything, so I don't know how much was her keeping it from me vs. me just not developing the interest.

I feel like I had a lot of time (and cash) for other hobbies like cinema and reading that I developed to a very fulfilling degree, so it had its positive points as well.

I generally hyperfocus on one or two games at a time instead of dabbling in a bunch as a hobby anyway, so I don't really feel like having a wide exposure would change the way I approach it these days.
