Is it possible to fix shoulderletness?

Sure

Not really, but you can get bigger delts

To a certain degree, yes. Don't expect miracles though.

Work your delts and lats. Chest and traps could also benefit.

Im pretty sure its one of those things that are massively determined by genetics and pre-natal testosterone exposure, and finalized in puberty. If you are ~20 you aren't going to change your bone structure.

I got noticeably more broad when I started working lats. Also, if you are still young you'll naturally get more broad as you age.

working out your back and delts will help a bit
you wont go from the guy on the right to the guy on the left, but if you're just a little small you can be broader than average

Does the guy on the left have a highly desirable shoulder width?

t. not even a widthlet, just curious

You can improve your symmetry. Golden ratio 1.6:1 shoulder breadth to waist breadth. Train to approach and even smol is still striking.

Good width. Shit proportions

his head looks too small

probably a swimmer since early youth

>implying that physical activity can change your bone structure

get a load of this ignorant retard lmao

mfw i stopped swimming when i turned 16
i couldve had 22inch shoulders

What is the median shoulder width / circumference? I need to know if I'm a shoulderlet

found the retard

Improving your posture if you are really weak. I had a bad posture because my body couldn't handle the weight and after working out a bit my posture improved a lot and my shoulders look much bigger

Literally just workout.

how do you measure shoulders? do you go by overall width or from the ends of your collarbones, to get the actual width of your bones vs your bones + delts?

They look nice, but they're slightly off.
His shoulders are too broad, makes his head look small.

your shoulders were probably rolled forward due to a weak back

Nice of you to include a selfie in your response

>tfw years of the virgin walk and low self esteem have made your shoulders droop and hunch down

Can flexing your shoulders back and down (like beyond normal posture) push your shoulders wider?
I have proportionately larger lats than most things and have since childhood, like if I stand in correct posture with mys shoulders back my arms don't go straight by my sides they just hit my lats first.

>look myself in the mirror at home
>"Shoulders seems to be looking good. I could maybe work a bit more on them. But still I seem to have a somewhat 'wide' shoulders"
>look myself in the mirror at gym
>shoulders like OP's right pic

try swimming 5 days a week 5+ years

>18.6 inches
Should I an hero?

Another shoulderlet here. As I see it, it has everything to do with the proportions of your shoulders vs your head width.

Anons, what exercises and workouts for delts and lats do you recommend? Also any advice on improving posture?

medfag here Your clavicle and ribcage size is determined by genetics and testosterone levels !

My gf has wider shoulders than I do. It's humiliating...

how young are we talking about?

19.80 inches even tho i had rounded shoulders 14 years of my life

ive got 22inch shoulders, delt to delt and i just started lifting

I have very large shoulders but no hair no muscle and the voice of a little girl

Trips, i guess science is fake and I’ll stop medschool have a nice day chad

10

22 inches and im dyel

>is it possible to magically grow 40 extra centimeters of clavicle and scapulla
Sure man

Unless you're xbox hueg big, it's gonna look very disproportionate.
IF you're big enough to fill that width you're gonna look like the son of Zeus himself tho

>18 inches
Killing myself and rerolling for shoulder width

Arnold had 24 I believe, so you either have great frames or are really fat. Maybe both

Link to the rest of the article?

lol I used to race against cody simpson at swim meets

how to measure?

Ss+ gomad

distance between deltoids
like if you were to put back on wall with arms down and in neutral ( not supinated or pronated ) how much of the wall would your delt to delt take up in a straight line

Yes. I used to have narrow shoulders like your pic on the left except my hips were widder. Nowadays after a year and a half of lifting I corrected my posture, fixed my rotated shoulders. Took me a damn while to reach lmao1pl8 OHP though (tho it's probably Jow Forums who warped my view of lifting because when I OHP 1pl8 all my pals get fuckin' crazy about it)

Pic on the right** jesus christ

Same, looks weird tho in mirror's.

A bit above 19cm at 190cm height. Not great but not bad considering I'm a skelly

>bones + delts

20 inch @ 5'10 and 165lb

Can OHP 80kg, still have less than 19 inches.
Fucking hell, life is unfair.

Wrong retard. It's shoulder joint to shoulder joint, across the top of your back with your back and shoulders relaxed

sauce?

This is wrong, the collarbone is one of the last bones to stop growing, shoulders grow into your mid twenties and even one centimeter or 1/2 inch is a visible difference.

>corrected my posture
Can you tell if something specific really helped you?
I recently also got concerned with my overdeveloped chest and fucked up posture, so I added more pulling excerises and stretching but I'm not sure if there's much else I can do.

my shoulders are only 19.25, but i'm still a dyel. is there any hope for me or should i just permabulk to hide my shitty frame? 6'2 150 for reference

Attached: Untitled.jpg (1193x2597, 523K)

53cm even though I'm a 178cm manlet.
Feels good.
>tfw they still look narrow imo

Only to an extent. You can do the main compound lifts (particular back work) to help with posture and fixing the kyphosis (rolled shoulders) that most people have. You can also build up the different parts of the deltoids too. But sadly if you have narrow shoulders, there's only so much you can do. It's your skeleton.

Luckily I've been blessed with very wide shoulders that have always made me look athletic even when I was totally sedentary. People assumed I worked out even when I didn't.

i read somewhere that the ideal waist to shoulder width is 1.618, any truth to that?

just be yourself bro

both of those men are extremes
don't envy the one on the left

i think thats hips to shoulder. waist to shoulder is 1.9 i think

how can I go the other way anons?
I'm a girl and I have really broad shoulders. It's unaesthetic

holy shit, that arm length
how much do you deadlift?

post them

i'm dyel i have no idea. are long arms good for deadlifts? i found a barbell with 1pl8 on it in someones front yard and tried it out and it was pretty easy and i feel like i could do 2pl8 at least. i'm too much of a sperg to go to a gym and i'm saving up for a squat rack and shit i almost have enough, but my car has a gas leak so i don't know if thats gonna fuck up my savings

Does swimming actually improve developing shoulder width?

OR is it that guys with better clavicle width simply have an easier time becoming better swimmers?

I'm inclined to believe the latter is more true.

Also, on top of the activity selecting for wider collar bones, it also develops the deltoid muscles more while not doing as much for the trapezius, thus making them look even wider.

can't really take any pics now, I'm in public
This is the only pic where at least part of them can be seen
I've been training traps a lot lately so that at least my shoulders can appear smaller

Attached: traps.png (1536x2048, 2.21M)

I'm I used to swim as a kid, and my shoulders broadened due to that.
But I doubt that you can change it if you're an adult.

yeah i can't even tell from that pic, but anyway you're a chick so it doesn't even matter, there will always be some guy wanting to fuck you no matter what

>good swimmers have broad shoulders therefore swimming make your shoulders broader

Your frame is normal. You just lack muscular development.

Notice the widest bony point of your shoulders? That's the acromion. It's part of your shoulder blades (scapula) and wraps around to the front and attaches at the outer most portion of your collar bones.

Your acromion width is significantly wider than your hips.

The camera angle you chose is bad for your visual shoulder width too as your waist is closer to the perspective than your upper chest and shoulder area.

Your frame isn't like outlier wider, but your potential V taper is still there.

It's acromions vs. hips that counts.

Also, your short torso/waist will also become very useful in building a V taper.

So, you have a perfectly good frame.

Advice: Get good at lifting the compound lifts. Add in volume and extra work for show muscles like delts and lats, etc... as secondary exercises. You want to train in a combination of strength and volume. Definitely more volume for upper body if cosmetics is your goal. Extra work for your lats and delts if you really want that V taper.

Eat the right amount of macros and micros. Eat enough to gain muscle but not so much you gain excess fat.

Cardio for your heart health.

Sleep a full 8 hours at night.

Don't fap to porn.

... and you're golden

How do you measure this without cheating? I imagine you can't just go shoulder to shoulder cuz the chest bulges out and makes it inaccurate.

clavicle curls

>what are pullovers
Yeah, you can increase your thiccness and width a bit

So how did anyone ITT measure this by themselves?

You need another person to help. Simpley back or chest against a wall. Stand relaxed. Have a friend mark the wall with a straight object like a rule and a pen on each side of your shoulders widest pint on your silhouette.

You are so thin your only measuring bone width.

Gain 1.5" of muscle on each shoulder and now your 22.25", which is ABOVE the 99th percentile.

Please leave Chad

>Gain 1.5" of muscle on each shoulder
is that even possible though? that seems like a lot

That's about the natural limit, but if you're thin you can likely gain 30 pounds natural if you're still DYEL mode.

Seriously your shoulders look boney as fuck.

Take a look a good natural like Omar Isuf, the guy clearly has at least 1.5" or more inches of development on his delts beyond yours. That's literally not even 16 oz. of muscle added to each delt, or 2 pounds total bodyweight, tops. Obviously you can't only work delts, you need to work everything, but at 6'2" and with acromions that are over 18" you definitely have a lot of room for growth.

Roids shouldn't be necessary, but some of them have delts that are well above 3" deep.

let's hope it's in proportion to your waist.

I highly believe these numbers depends on muscle insertions. I have boulder shoulders and I'm natural. 22,7 inch shoulders here. Doesn't seem a lot though when you're nordic.

the effect can be mitigated hugely but this depends on both propensity for hypertrophy response and how bad your narrow shoulder syndrome actually is. large delts, large lats, large chest and large neck, and to a lesser extent large traps, can make you look wide as fuck without having the frame for it. it should be said that the narrower your shoulders are, the smaller your legs should be, because bigger legs make your upper body look smaller.

Get bigger delta and triceps

I have also noticed this too. I'm not nordic myself but I have noticed this on a lot of the nordic strength athletes. Strongmen usually.

Their shoulders are absolutely wide as fuck, but they only V taper modestly. They tend to have long torsos and waists and relatively wide hips. So the absolute shoulder width is very wide, but the V taper isn't as visible. It is a good structure to get strong as hell though.

Definitely this too. Regardless of total shoulder width, over developed legs also take away from the visual look of your shoulder width. This is another reason a lot of strength athletes don't seem to V taper well in photos or videos, but you see them in person and their shoulders are mind boggling wide.

In pictures and videos we can only perceive size by how objects contrast to one another.

In person absolute size is self evident.

Edited the photo on paint and send to Phone

you used a computer to edit it and didn't use the same computer to post? what kind of brainlet logistics is this?

Banned on computer...

what did you get banned for bro?

What was your diet like? Frequency of meals compared to workouts? Cardio?

I just used a sliding door and pushed it apart using delts (don't use elbows). Measure distance.
