Kiwi's are pretty rare to see actually, especially since they're nocturnal.

You see pukeko and weka around quite a bit though, and tui's a fair bit too but not as much as pukeko and weka, at least where I live anyway.

We have a lot of flightless birds in new zealand. Pukeko and weka are the names of 2 of them. But kiwi's are the most famous flightless bird here.

Look them up, they're pretty cool. Weka are one of my favourite birds actually. They tend to be very curious and friendly. If you're lucky, they may even come right up close to you (within a few feet)

Over here in new hampshire we have turkeys, ruffed grouse that make a hella racket with their wings when they fly, startling the shit out of whoevers nearby, and other, smaller birbs like the chickadee

Kiwis tend to resort to suicide tactics. A favorite is strapping pressure-sensitive explosives to their bodies, and jumping out of bushes and in front of advancing tanks.
