I unironically believe that mental health professionals are there to help us, and that treatment is extremely beneficial for us who are mentally ill to the point where we hate ourselves. I trust my therapist and I believe I will get better in the course of a year or two.
I agree. But ur posting on Jow Forums. Expect the mental health issues brigade to roll in any moment now and tell you how great it is to be untreated as they spiral ever downward into depression
Bentley Nelson
I agree people who call it a jew conspiracy are just upset that their therapist called them out on their bullshit

Bluepilled and not based You'll be a braindead SSRI zombie in no time
Camden Smith
kill yourself you shameless forsaken shill.
Joshua Flores
you're not wrong, but it's more complicated than that. it's been proven now that SSRIs are garbage and many other medications for schizo, etc can have worse side effects than the disorder itself.
in general there are some people for whom therapy works, some who are smart enough to figure it out on their own, and some who are just too far gone no matter how much help they may or may not get.
Adrian Cook
>a braindead SSRI zombie SSRIs cured my anxiety though if they don't help you *at all* it's because you aren't severely depressed
Jason White
Holy shit look, someone sane on Jow Forums
Jeremiah Gutierrez
I don't think it matters, since most people who are "mentally ill" are already loved unconditionally by their social circle, and thus have no reason to hate themselves,
and its just them having a "down" time
The problem I have with it is that people only support and love "cute" mental illnesses, like depression, no one has ever used it as a insult
Dominic Turner
Mental help professionals do help in getting people to a better mental state. But I do believe that there are some therapists out there that use their position to fuck with people. It goes with any job just like there are bro cops and asshole cops.
Justin Baker
Well you have put me in a bit of a bind. If I disagree with you I may act against your treatment, that of someone struggling to peice things together. You are both correct from you vantage, yet its not the case for far too many to count. I am one of many.
Brody Cox
mental help professionals first priority at all times is to help the people around you over you, you will be viewed as nothing but a problem for other people they need to solve. depending on the antisocial weight on your issues going to a mental health professional can be literally going to have your testicles removed. they are not there for you, they are there to fix you.
Chase Myers
Ahaha.
I have to say that they only made fun of my situation while not only not helping. But trying to make it worst. Wish you a better outcome, but even if they want to help, chances are they dont most of the time and try stuff because thats basically how they gather intel.
Cameron Peterson
what if you seek treatment and it doesn't work now you're screwd on all future job applications
i'm in a psych ward right now. the nurses/doctors i've had have been great.
Jacob Edwards
having seen a lot of therapists, some of them absolutely sucked and probably hated their jobs. that said, i finally found a therapist that is actually good. i think a lot of people just give up on finding a therapist that works well with them.
Wyatt Stewart
I've been in some form of therapy for almost ten years. That includes an IOP for several months. You never "get better," you just learn new coping skills.
Parker Collins

Proud of you, user. Your optimism will go a long way toward getting better. Keep up the good work. Your ancestors are smiling down upon you.

about to go to a therapist in 2 weeks
my dad is paying, he thinks i'm supposed to actually want to wageslave. he thinks it's pathological that i enjoy NEETdom too much
what do? i'm obviously going to go, i just do a bit of web design and make just enough to eat and pay car insurance and gym membership -- like $400/month really is all i need right now since no rent.
Zachary Cooper
>now you're screwd on all future job applications wtf? explain please
Charles Hughes
you would have a disability if you disclose it employers will pass you up for mentally healthy people government/military/defense contractor jobs will explicitly (and legally) screen you out and if you don't disclose they'll still find out even if you trick them into hiring you, they'll find out and then layoffs come and whoops
Wyatt Clark
>you would have a disability simply going to a therapist means you have a disability? i was never diagnosed with anything.
i'm actually going to a "psychiatrist" -- have never been before, my dad wants me to go
read : will this go on my record?
Isaiah Reyes
I went to a therapist because I had problems and could not get a job and had no money so I was depressed. Most of my issues stemmed from being broke. Then at the end the therapist said "that will be $175", no insurance, I paid and burst out laughing and never went back. That shit is a fucking scam don't go.
no you have to be diagnosed with something but if you go you should be diagnosed with something so you shouldn't go
Bentley Martin
The only people against mental health professionals are lazy losers who don't want to put in the effort to fix their shit.
When people say "it's been proven" , it always means "some idiot made this up" .
James Foster
>but if you go you should be diagnosed with something
but what could i be diagnosed with, laziness? working caused me to be depressed, i cured it by quitting my job
>so you shouldn't go i have to, my dad is paying and i am NEETing at their house. it would piss them off and i'd rather just moderately annoy them than going back to wagecuckery
Xavier Kelly
if you sound apathetic when you talk to him he'll say you're depressed if you're upbeat or angry you have bipolar disorder, mania whatever >i have to you could just go to a movie and say you went not like the therapist is going to give a shit if you show up or not
Lucas Morgan
>if you sound apathetic when you talk to him >he'll say you're depressed i used to be depressed, but i'm not now. i've been self-improving.
my actual "problem" is that my circadian rhythm doesn't line up with the 9-5 workday. this isn't a mental disorder at all, it's just being a "night owl" my dad thinks my existence should be as a wageslave just because i'm good at work (went to a top uni, got best ACT/SAT scores in high school, taught myself programming, etc)
i just see no reason to do that if no gf
>if you're upbeat or angry >you have bipolar disorder, mania whatever nah, if anything i have terminal assburgers
>you could just go to a movie and say you went >not like the therapist is going to give a shit if you show up or not
not sure, somehow my dad scheduled it for me.
Jacob Sanders
>i'm good at work (went to a top uni, got best ACT/SAT scores in high school, taught myself programming, etc) >i just see no reason to do that if no gf
>tfw to smart to work butt to dumb to gf
Kayden Bennett
>>tfw to smart to work butt to dumb to gf i am literally a aspie manlet. also i haven't met a single girl IRL in over a year. i was totally depressed from my shit job, i recently quit it though now i feel better, just moved back in with my parents for the first time in 7 years, and i work part time like 10hrs a week (just a bit of programming) so i can only really afford my own shit, like food and gas and insurance. which is fine for me, i am busy lifting and learning useful skills. it's the first time in my life i've been NEET
Blake Morris
Most therapists are well meaning but there is something to the stereotype of therapists being out of touch and not really understanding their patients' problems.
Asher Hill
ha well then you get autism as a disorder if you skip it and your dad asks where were you, say you had to go to a job interview haha
Ethan Cox
I think that mental health treatment, just like diet, isn't solved with one fail swoop. Medication is not the answer, but medication and therapy.
Same with diet - best way to make it work is diet and exercise.
But I think people with the pills think they are a cure-all and don't recognize they need to see a psychiatrist and psychologist to get the best track set out for them
