>House of Mirth by Edith Wharton
Writen by a borderline fembot imo if there ever was one. I feel like it goes well with the board. Main character is a girl but I dont want to give away any spoiler

I imagine all Chads have the same deal as Dorian Gray, is that bad?

obviously any dostoyevski but my favorite is the idiot. if robots are given a chance to speak their minds a lot of them would end up coming off like prince myshkin. well not numale MRA bots of course. those of us who watch life from the sidelines and just feel like we don't really belong. those of us who understand that the world works a certain way and even hates people like us, but nonetheless still go through life almost naively and childishly.

Waiting patiently for replies. I mostly just read what's comfy. Favorites include The Godfather, The Lost World, Memoirs of a Geisha, Q&A...

I have heard a lot about him but now that you say this i will definitely buy some of his books

yes good, he is very much required robot reading

Read existentialism is a humanism by sartre recently, it's pretty good actually

i think my expectations were a bit too high when reading no longer human but any robot who hasn't read it should give it a try anyway

>represents the spirit of Jow Forums
This chap here. Full of stuff like
>I suffer from life and from other people. I can't look at reality face to face. Even the sun discourages and depresses me. Only at night and all alone, withdrawn, forgotten and lost, with no connection to anything real or useful - only then do I find myself and feel comforted
etc
No Longer Human and Notes from the Underground are pretty robotcore too.

I do indeed have a favorite book, it does not , however, represent the spirit of Jow Forums, although all robots would do well to read it, and adopt it as their guide to life.

>The Way Of Men
by Jack Donovan

Oblomov is the purest NEET.

Well I'm reading the original Welcome to the NHK, if that doesn't represent r9k I dunno what does. It's good in a weird way. The prose doesn't have a lot of flair or technique, it's all kinda simple really, but yet it hooks me in to keep reading more. I like it.

should i read anything by proust?

Idk. Do you like streams of consciousness and modernist lit? One of the main reasons to read Proust is the prose itself. Give Swan's Way a go and if you don't like what you see then he's not for you.

The Stranger by Albert Camus, obviously. It's the pinnacle of robot literature.

prose is literally the most important thing to me when it comes to literature, thanks user. i'll give it a try right now

>Evil indeed is the man who has not one woman to mourn him
Fuck you too, Doyle.

I started reading In Search of Lost Time about a month ago and it's solidly enjoyable so far. It's nice to have a novel where you don't have to think about the end much

Funnily enough I'm also reading this to fill a gap before more books arrive from the internet. It's pretty enjoyable for a light novel and much more streamlined than the anime is, which is a big plus.

The Sorrows of Young Werther, obviously. The protagonist and his outcome is the most robot thing I've read in years.

it's relatable for the orbiter-subset of robots, not so much the rest of us

My favourite by far was the Dresden Files
It's about the only professional wizard in Chicago, and it gets fucking nuts
Dunno if it's best for robots, but it's a really good book

bump. don't let this thread die on me

Anything Zygmunt Bauman related (specially Liquid Love) should be mandatory reading for every robot.

Are you autist/patrician enough to tackle the canon, r9k?

>been thinking about getting into philosophy
>tell girl I talk to philosophy is starting to interest me
>all of the sudden she starts reading Nietzsche

i think she likes me

Go for her, user

I read Hangover Square a few months ago and that shit is Jow Forums as fuck.

try Mishima. confessions of a mask if you're a fag, temple of the golden pavilion if you're a cripple, sailor who fell from grace if you have a single mom

i barely read. everything what involves love seems sappy.
