So here's my situation, I'm a 19 year old living with two other 19 yo(boy and girl). They're dating. Anywhoosies our lease ended and my roommates didn't sign the lease so the place is telling us we have to pay this minths rent and gtfo. That sucks but listen to this, My name isn't on the lease. I never signed any contract I just moved in for "freedom" which I honestly regret. So I was thinking of just running back to my moms house because I don't want to pay this months rent. I just started a new job and by the time I get my measly paycheck, I would have to shell out 400$.
My roommate also doesn't have a job and is broke as a joke. His GF doesn't pay anything. She's just there. Also they're both potheads who dab and smoke everyday.
Here's my plan, move out a few things here and there while my roommate leaves to take his GF tp high school (dumb girl still hasn't graduated) and while he's picking her up.
Is this illegal? I was also thinking of calling the police after all my stuff is gone and letting them in the house so they could bust my roomies?
I know this is a fucked up thing I get it. All I'm asking is if anything negative (other than psychological karma) can happen to me? The job I just started has guaranteed hours and pays me 1400 a month. That isn't alot in the grand scheme of life but enough for me to survive.

honestly, i would just do it. morally i don't think you are obligated. these are just people you happened to move in with. you're not loyal to them. i've moved into quite a few places with no lease. you aren't legally living there if there's nothing on record. technically, those 2 could call the police and tell you to get out, even if it's 5 minutes after you pay rent. the flipside is that you have no tie or responsibility to them or the place. i'm betting that you're safe dude
