Scraching sounds

Mostly because of the writing, which is pretty amazing, for example you can tell that each quest is telling its own story and every character(well most of them anyway) are supposed to be an actual human people
Also something that i think it's awesome but i don't see many people talk about it is the player character, who is not as in fallout 2, the chosen one. Your character in nv is just a random courier, whose death would affect no one (at least at the start of the game). I believe this makes it 1000x easier to connect to the character and immerse in the multiple stories

Also you can RP New Vegas a lot more than Fo3 due to a superior selection of weapons and corresponding perks to go with

Eh, I dunno, never really cared for main stories in both games, yet I do realize f3 had shitty main quest. Still, every other aspect is almost identical, a lot to do in 3, a lot of interesting quests, characters and places, just like in NV. The thing is, I had zero motivation to spend as much time in NV as I did in 3, because I was tired of ANY fallout at that point

I guess which one you play first dose influence which one you like more. Also the main quest although not bad doesn't really compare to the rest of the game

Looking forward to playing this soon. Got far but started to get bored and stopped paying attention to the plot and it got too confusing choosing which faction to work with.

my main issue with 3 was the goddamn rubble separating every single city block. It made an open map into a linear map.

new vegas allowed you to go anywhere straight from the beginning as long as the non level scaling monsters didn't catch and kill you

Mfw in my first playthrough i didn't go that way and didn't meet them until i was able to kill them

I think it has the cult-following factor, due to it turning out great despite the rushing of its development and the cutting of big chuncks of the content that would've made it in the incial game release, if bethesda didn't rush OE to release so they can make money for skyrim. And make money for skyrim they did.
