Where I live is a boomer paradise. There's so many boomers mowing their lawn every day and driving their lifted, diesel f250s around to impress each other. They go shop at Home Depot and spend hours just looking around. On the weekend's a lot of them ride their Harley Davidson's. They go eat out and always complain about the food. It's hell on earth for any reasonable person.

The doomer is going through a second puberty so that, combined with his life circumstances, is probably why he feels so bad.

Man, I can relate to this a lot. I didn't want to like the doomer meme. It seemed forced, and it's weird that he's not based on the brainlet wojak template and is instead a regular wojak derivative.

But the meme resonates with me because I just got out of the doomer phase. Now I'm a boomer and I wish I could go back and give my doomer self a hug and share a sip with him.

I think the doomer resonates with a lot of us because he's essentially stuck in limbo. The doomer is the guy in the middling phase between total loser and having his shit together, he can go either way.

I think you're missing the point of generations

There's a reason why the 30 year old boomer is a boomer. In some ways, he's like his parents (literal boomers) were back when he was born. That's why he's a boomer despite not being part of the literal boomer generation.

I think a lot of boomers would be "losers" by their own standards when they were teenagers. But they've just accepted that life didn't turn out as great as they'd hoped, and are trying to make the best of it and be happy. That doesn't mean they've given up on life, but that they've made peace with the limitations that have been imposed upon them.

No hard drugs, no hard alcohol, just coffee and sugar.
No health problems, no mental problems, just wrist pain and stomach issues.
Not unemployed, not in school, just a code monkey job for an above average wage.
No girlfriend, not a hermit, just an urban creature that meets school friends once a month and talks to people online.
No social media, no going out to the bar, just "meeting people" on forums and in games where we are represented by our avatars.
Haven't had a new favorite song in 10-12 years, but still listen to the same dadrock that made me seem cool and special to my kiddie friends when I first discovered it.
Don't watch movies, don't follow shows, waste my time and then get mad I have no time to... waste time.

Except they aren't, the two demographics have opposing values and beliefs if you believe people who track generations. Generational divides haven't really been a thing since the eighties anyway though due to the wide spread availability media.

Generations became more based upon cultural divides starting with gen x. Depending on what people were exposed to growing up determines their belief systems and cultural background. People on the cusp of two generations more often then others feel this, and dissociate from the generation they were assigned. Having grown up primarily on the previous generations content instead of their own, thus they are not able to identify or fit in with the previous generation or their own. Which is where this "doomer" feeling you kids have comes from. You don't feel you belong to either.

idk what college you went to but I attended a top 10 uni in England and that, along with every other top uni I visited, had anxiety puppies, safe spaces, gender friendly toilets etc and a rainbow flag perpetually flying above the main building.
