I want to carry a knife. Not for any edge reasons...

I want to carry a knife. Not for any edge reasons, I just like the idea of having a handy tool on me that can double as self-defense option. Will it be seen weird and/or creepy by normies?

Attached: bCBBBBB.jpg (1000x1000, 195K)

It will be seen as weird but they'll never know unless you make a point to show them.

I carry one and no one thinks it is weird but it probably depends on where you live and who you are talking to. A tradesman wont bat an eye at it but an effete sissyboi might feel weird about it.

I don't think it's weird, but I'm with someone who carries several on them at any given moment. Just remember if you aren't experienced in using them, they're more of a harm to you than to your enemies, since if they can disarm you you're fucked.

I'd assume that if you're up against someone who can disarm a person with a knife, you're probably fucked regardless.

I'd assume if you needed to carry a knife around with you for self-defense, it's only a matter of time before you meet such a person.

>self-defense
What third world shithole do you reside in?

Oi mate, you got a loicense for that knife? Get a life and bin that knife.

who gives a fuck what normies think.

also dont buy the kershaw/emerson in pic related you can buy a much more decent knife for that price range.

its commonly known that violent assaults literally never happen in first world countries

I am Twice now this guy has been held at gunpoint for trying to help strangers in this absolute hellscape of a town we live nearby. No matter how many times I tell him to stay away from this miserable place and not to even save screaming children because they can be used as bait as well, he won't listen. Knives don't do jack shit if you're in real danger imo, they have other uses but self defense is low on the list.

id rather have a knife on me in a SD situation than no knife.

SeeIf the people holding you up get the knife from you, there's nothing stopping them from at best, stealing that too, and at worst, cutting you up for the sake of it just because they're tweaked out of their minds.

Where do you live? If you're in a concealed carry state than nobody will care. Me and most of my friends here in Florida carry both a knife and a piece.

I carry one and it's generally considered a thing you should do if you live in the city.
Almost every woman I know carries pepper spray or a tazer, so a guy carrying a knife is the same thing plus its a practical tool. I've never had any issues with it from anyone, some bars will check for weapons but you just hand it over to them and get it back as you are leaving and thats about it.

dio can

dio cant even into metal
he's a faggot

Dumb. Just dumb.
I carry a knife but there are not many things that are worse than a knife when it comes to self defense. Knife is for cutting things, not people. Stop being a literal dick sucking faggot and get yourself a handgun.

I carry a pocket knife. I don't take it out and play with it or anything, but it's one of the things I have on me daily. I've never needed to defend myself, but it's there if I do.

Carrying a utility knife is something that many tradesmen do because it's just practical. I used to be a construction worker and most dudes in the trade including boomers carried a blade. I also live in a shit area so self defense is a must, even if you're too poor or lazy to get a CC permit and a gun. Just be sure you know how to use a knife in a situation when you have to engage an aggressor because like said, if you get disarmed it's curtains for you. Also, don't be the asshole who pulls it out all the time and plays with it when he's talking to someone, those are the people we make fun of over beers. Only take it out when you need to because surprise, surprise people get on edge when they see someone pull out a weapon for any reason.

I carry one. Some normies are surprised I have it but they don't freak out or anything.

If they don't like it, just brandish your knife.

It's mostly about right time, place, and behavior. Open carrying a knife on a playground, a mall, or an office is gonna yield a different reaction than doing the same during a camping trip or a warehouse operation. The way you handle a knife is also important. If you're around strangers, open the knife carefully and slowly with both hands, like you would open a multitool, don't just instaflip this shit like a gangbanger from the movies. Don't buy these retarded edgy butterfly knives you saw in CS:GO, don't buy serrated edge, and don't buy overdesigned shit with spiders and skulls on it. Best options are bright colored handles, and camo/beige, these don't spook people and usually draw associations with camping or the army.

bought this one couple of weeks ago.
didnt need any kind of license or permit for it, and im pretty sure its not going to be a problem to be carrying it around

Attached: 20180929_192034.jpg (2560x1440, 660K)

Fucking hell that's a baby knife, remember that size matters

Just keep it concealed. That's what I do and I'm basically a foux normie nowadays.

I've had a knife on me every day for the past 13 years. It's come in handy for something at least once a day. I don't carry it for self defense, just practicality (although once it did deter some group of late teens fom messing with me. I overheard them say "not that one, look he has a knife" when I walked by with headphones in but didn't start any music yet). Normies won't think anything of it, at least in my experience but I don't live in a cucked liberal state so that may different for you. Pic related is what I've had the last few years and it's been good to me. Also have a few Benchmade and CRKT folders.

Yeah just get like a small or medium pocket knife that isn't too flashy. Honestly where I live (ruralfag) it's more wierd to not have a knife as a man. Even when I was on highschool.

I wasn't aware carrying a knife was outside the realm of being a normie. Pretty much everyone I know always has a knife on them just because there's so much utility shit you can do with one. I know a lot of people who also carry lighters for similar reasons, even if they don't smoke. You never know when your pocket knife or lighter will come in handy. That said, I wouldn't use my knife for self-defense. The shit you're going to find the average person carrying isn't designed for combat and even if it was, you're way more likely to hurt yourself then anyone else if you're not trained in knife fighting. If you're really concerned with a self-defense weapon, get a concealed carry permit and carry a holdout pistol or something. Shit, if you live in an open carry state, you don't even need to bother with the permit.

>Shit, if you live in an open carry state, you don't even need to bother with the permit.
>just open carry everywhere bro
Where do you live? This isn't practical almost anywhere, anymore.

I live in semi-rural Arkansas, so the only places you can't get away with open carrying are banks, hospitals, schools, and police stations. Everywhere else is fair game.

>tfw born in a shithole coastal city
I wish I was from comfy America.

Hey is it creepy that the gangs can't just stop your brains in whenever they want?

>all these beta male knives in thread

Lol. Get a real mans knife. I have 5 spyderco knives and I know how to use them.

look at crocodile dundee over here

>t will be seen as weird
Literally who?
no one fucking cares you autist.

People carry knives around all the time at my job. Handy for cutting open boxes.

>implying carrying self-defense weapons increases the chances of meeting bruce lee

not OP, but here in Germany stabbings happen every fucking day by now

my spyderco is my best friend unironically, it really is a great brand and i love my delica

London is another obvious one but
>implying london is a first world city

Do it. Carrying a normal pocket knife and not something like a bowie knife is something tht pretty much everyone does. Get a nice decent one.

Just keep it in your pocket. How hard is that? You should carry a gun too.

Nah bro. I carry a buck as a tool every day but would never pull it as self defence. Would only turn a simple violent encounter from getting your ass beaten to having that knife turned back on you. Go and lift and study martial arts. Pay in cash. Box perhaps.

But it is a fun prop for entertaining kinky little thots. This one girl I worked with loved me to run the tip of it down her thigh in the workplace of at a bar. Good times.

Don't get some tactical autistic shit. Keep it low key and classic hunting style. A buck 110 is a good investment and will be a bit of an heirloom.

country's laws state that spring action knives need to have their blade shorter than 8.5 cm
this one is 8. nothing i can do

If it's a utility knife rather than self defense there's not really any reason to have over 4 inches apart from you just want it.
If you want a knife for self-defense you're a moron and will die, bleeding out in a gutter unless you're trained.

I carry a knife everyday primarily for utility purposes. A knife for self defense should be a last ditch effort. Pepper spray is far better for self defense for endless reasons. You do not want to get into a knife fight. Someone will end up dead.

Depends on where you live.
Where I live the only ones who get bent seeing my knife are transplants from other states.
Otherwise it's common to see guys with a knife clipped on their pocket around here

Attached: 2018-05-06 14.42.08.jpg (1060x1883, 1.35M)

If you talk about it or use it out of context at all, normies will freak out and lose their shit, it's actually cost me a job before, people will act weird talking about how much they don't trust you, but pocket knives work fantastically if you work with your hands a lot.

I've never had a life saving use for my pocket knifes, but I have been able to open packages and crap a lot

Might start carrying this around with me. Bongland legal.

Attached: knive.jpg (2448x3264, 1.91M)

Definetely not.

They are illegal to carry where I live, but I carry a small one with me every day. It's ok as long as you are discrete about it and make sure no one notices. If anyone asks you why, just say that it's a handy tool to have for opening packaging.

(I carry a spyderco bug because it's the smallest, most inconspicuous thing I could find)

>spyderco
The soiboi brand

>Would only turn a simple violent encounter from getting your ass beaten to having that knife turned back on you.
Jesus, this is the most cucked thing I've read today.

>self-defense option
I carry pepper spray for that purpose.
I know it makes me look like a weak faggot but i simply never show it to anyone, its just a tiny bottle.
If i only need it once in my life it will be worth it, ive seen too many liveleak videos

What kind of totalitarian shithole bans knives period?

>implying the uppity niggers and mudslimes that commonly jump people have any skill with disarming
lol

Get a leatherman. The scissors and pliers get more use on mine than the blade.

But it's marginally true.
I have been carrying a blade since I was 5 years old and I would still not pull it in an altercation with another person unless I felt lives were in IMMINENT danger.

>fighting with a knife is like flying a helicopter.
>either you know what you're doing or you crash and burn

>Just keep it concealed.
What would be the point then? Just like with open carry firearms, you want to make sure your weapon is seen to deter potential asshole from fucking with you.

>googled leatherman
>see this
Why
I'm half-surprised it doesn't include foldable steel dildo, you know, for complete package.

Attached: fuckyouleatherman.jpg (1356x1500, 167K)

Nordic Europe and Scandinavia. You are allowed to own a knife but can't bring them to public places.

Check the Leatherman micra
Great Keychain that isn't too autistic.
>I have used every tool multiple times over the years.
>sometimes I wish it had pliers in place of scissors though

Attached: 71IJly1-mZL._SX466_.jpg (466x466, 21K)

Like swiss army knives, the more expensive ones come with excessive amounts of bullshit like that. Lower end models only have a few things. Mine has pliers, knife, scissors, file, some kind of hooked packaging opener i never use, flathead scewwdriver.

use a multi-tool
you'd be based

carry it, dont show or talk about it

I live in Illinois. But work in st Louis on a government site.
Should I buy a gun to keep at home since I live in a trailer park and niggers are in my area? I want to protect myself. I never shot a gun before... What kind should I get?

Yes.
Buy a gun, learn how to use it and get your license to carry.

If it's in your house, get a shotgun. Go to Jow Forums to find out which one I suppose i dunno

What's really cucked is whipping out your pocket knife from Amazon, escalating a situation and giving someone who has a concealed carry a reason to shoot you on the spot. Or to just disarm you as you have no basic fighting skills then use the knife as a pretext to kick your skull into brain damage in self defence of attempted murder. Sounds really not cucked to me.

>Google shooting ranges in your area
>call shooting ranges
>ask if they have rentals
>go fingerfuck the rentals to get an idea of what fits
>ALWAYS TREAT EVERY GUN LIKE IT'S ALWAYS LOADED (keep pointed away from yourself and others. Finger off trigger till you're ready to take a shot)
>shoot the rentals that felt the best while handling
>go from there
>ask questions
>don't be ashamed of being a noob
>Jow Forums can be of some help if you tried a gun and want some comparable options

Attached: 2018-05-07 11.03.17.jpg (1060x1883, 1.43M)

I rent a place. Do I still get to have a gun?
I think I need a type of card before I can own a gun first... But it's my next goal. I feel it's smart to have one.

>I think I need a type of card before I can own a gun first
You don't need a "card" to own a gun in the state of Louisiana. You don't need any kind of permit to buy or own a rifle or shotgun and definitely not for a pistol. Are you referring to a license to carry? That's only for taking your gun outside your house in public.

>not carrying a sword with you

The reason I don't carry one is because I would likely end up killing some drunk piece of shit for getting aggressive/attacking me over something.

So I decided I won't carry one. Don't want any trouble with the law. I'll just run if some asshole attacks me. Avoid trouble rather than murder.

I would argue that in places where self defense is not legal but sentences for all crimes are also very small, you should always go much more over the top

In America you will never need to pay reparations to someone who attacked you, but in Europe the law states only "equal force" is allowed (=you're only allowed to hit as many times as you've been hit and NEVER with a bigger weapon than your attacker, even though the first hit usually is the one that kills, effectively self defense is not legal if you want to stay alive)

Don't get a knife, get something powerful enough that can take down a gang of 4 thugs with knives in a few seconds, like a pistol, both are illegal anyway so might as well get the most powerful thing possible

Do you not trust yourself? Are you a psycho?
You can still carry and be resolved to not use it apart from life-threatening situations.

But I life in Illinois. I think it's called a foid card...

this. pulling out a knife usually is a bad idea, unless you know how to use one or to fight you're most likely to hurt yourself and then the situation legally appears as if you pulled a knife on someone and got shot or beat up.

Just don't carry an edgelord knife, and be careful about how you present it when you take it out in front of people. Pull it out slowly and use two hands to open it if you need to open a box instead of whipping it out and snapping the blade open one-handed, for example. Something with wooden or colorful plastic handles will generally trigger the normies less than something blacked out or otherwise "tactical" in color.

Is right as well. Knives are excellent utility tools, but I don't really advocate them for self-defense without training. There are niche situations where they can help (you get tackled and start shanking or something), but generally you're better off running away than trying to knife fight somebody.
