How is math even important and smart? I always thought math was the epitome of intelligence but when I started studying it a bit it was completely pointless bullshit that had nothing to do with intelligence - or the real world.
I have a friend who used to study math and I showed him a couple of problems and asked him how to solve them. He replied:

Mathematics are just a tool we use to help us grasp physical phenomenon. Studying numbers to understand reality is like trying to study a hammer to understand architecture. That's an admirable goal, but there are many conflicts with it; mostly resource conflicts. Psychedelics may or may not reveal a higher truth of some sort. They may or may not give you a glimpse of what a higher truth may be. They will show you how truly expansive what we know as the universe is.
