I'm interested in the abstract concepts that make up our reality and I want to find the connection between reality and consciousness.
Should I study particle physics, philosophy, math or become a programmer and create an AI?

OP here again. I tried studying math a bit but realized it's more about memorizing things such as notation than actually raising your IQ and finding the truth.
what I would do and am doing right now is, become a programmer and make some fun games for people to play, or just make some fun ai shit to mess around with
I watched Westworld and want to program an AI.
This
You can feel like you're smart without ever actually being smart
>OP here
>I tried doing something other than graduate studies and realized its more about memorizing things than actually raising your IQ and finding the truth
Whoa OP, you don't say!
never watched westworld, it has a pretty schweet theme song though
How would one sample fields before entering them? Like ai mentioned earlier, or offensive cyber security, large scale worm farming like in germany, etc
math is truth, fuccboi.
This. I started studying physics but now I'm really not even sure if it's my thing.
It's not like I want to study physics all day every day for fun. Should your field be something you do for fun?
Then again, every other field feels like pointless humanistic bullshit that's not even real, like philosophy and psychology. And don't even get me started on the study of cultures, languages and legislation.. gah.
I know that you're likely either not OP and trolling or just trolling outright but
>I want to write a book but I don't want to memorise the alphabet or how to spell words
whatever takes you out of your basement
How is math even important and smart? I always thought math was the epitome of intelligence but when I started studying it a bit it was completely pointless bullshit that had nothing to do with intelligence - or the real world.
I have a friend who used to study math and I showed him a couple of problems and asked him how to solve them. He replied:
>I don't remember how to solve those anymore, it was years ago, man
So you can forget how to do math. How is intelligence something you forget? Indeed. Math is just something you learn to memorize, you don't use your brain like you would in other, important fields.
Create an a.i and ask it.
>I want to find the connection between reality and consciousness
study your own mind lol. do you know when your subconscious influences your action? how can you tell? how do you process emotions? how logical are your thoughts? what is focus? what is concentration? what are dreams? what does it mean to meditate? can consciousness be changed? expanded? contracted? and so on.
this year i came to the conclusion that all talk of studying consciousness is redundant. man is conscious. therefore, man should study his own consciousness. man should learn to know himself. this is the realm of sages and philosophers. the more you know yourself, the better philosopher you are. and surely, if mathematics is some idea-based structure to reality, then to know oneself is to see yourself in mathematics.
Philosophy definitely. I have the same goal as you and am studying philosophy. Even the famous mathematician Bertrand Russell became a philosopher after math failed to prove anything for him. Anyways OP, its a long and dirty road. It ruins you. So I advise you to consider it because it literally takes up all your life.
Math is the language of pretty much every problem anyone will need to solve, if you're finding it completely pointless bullshit then it's because you need to suck it up and learn the fundamentals before you do anything interesting, exactly like a child learning the alphabet
It sounds to me like your friend just didn't want to bother solving them, but the particular techniques behind solving certain types of problems can be pushed to the back of your mind and take a bit of stumbling to dredge up again

Is this the level of argument to expect from someone who claims to levitate above the rest of us with his amazing philosophy knowledge?
>thinking mathematics will give you any truths about reality and consciousness
Mathematics are just a tool we use to help us grasp physical phenomenon. Studying numbers to understand reality is like trying to study a hammer to understand architecture. If you want a taste of what knowledge may exist beyond your grasp now, do psychedelics. If you want to truly know what may lie beyond the simple human experience, commit suicide. You're not going to find any truths further than what many have already found.
fucking loled
I thought you were about to make these good points then
>do psychedelics
That's an admirable goal, but there are many conflicts with it; mostly resource conflicts. You could be brought up to speed all the way to the most technical of concepts, but time, and more importantly our limited perspectives here on Earth, will leave you in the same rut physicists have been in for almost a decade now. Einstein, Podolsky, Rosen was over eighty years ago. John Bell died, and accepted superdeterminism almost thirty years ago.
>for almost a decade now
I meant for almost a century now
Math is one of the least rote learning intensive subjects.

Psychedelics may or may not reveal a higher truth of some sort. They may or may not give you a glimpse of what a higher truth may be. They will show you how truly expansive what we know as the universe is. They'll show you that assuming that you can find a higher truth in this small existence in such a small amount of time is laughable until we've got the technology to do so. You don't need to do psychedelics to understand this but you'll never fully grasp the true scope of how small you are in a massive multilayered world. How fallible spoken language is in expressing our ideas. The interplay of perception and reality. Psychedelics right now are possibly only a pin point hole through the barrier blocking existence and something higher. Nothing else except maybe what we only understand now as mental disorder and death will be similar. Might as well try it if you're truly interested in reaching boundaries with your mind.
>You're not going to find any truths further than what many have already found.
Not true. Empiricism is about finding the outermost through experimentation. Imagine a science that is built upon revelation. Finding the innermost, through states of being.
>hallucinate
>DUDE REALITY WAS REVEALED TO ME
Fuckoff retard
wow either you are way too hard on yourself having drugs in the past and not having learned from it overall or you are too clueless
The burden is on you to prove that drugs do anything but fry your brain to the point of hallucinating, much less create any truthful 'visions'.
>Nothing else except maybe what we only understand now as mental disorder and death will be similar
There are some people who have claimed to have far-out experiences meditating/astral projecting/whatever you want to call it.
>William Buhlman
>Robert Monroe
>Todd Acamesis
>Jurgen Ziewe
>Luis Minero
etc
Pretty sure you're the retard.
I learned how little I know and how little I can possibly know with psychedelics. Nothing more nothing less. I don't care if you don't know how little you know. I don't care if you think you know a lot. Im just telling you the quickest mode of transportation to get to this revelation.
A pristine mind is no more capable of finding a higher truth than a fried mind is. It's impossible. A dog can't suddenly ascend to the mental capacity to learn things humans have. Humans can't take massive leaps in mental capacity either.
