Why does nobody care about the original Xbox? I see tons of people nostalgic for the PS2, but the Xbox is just forgotten about. I didn't even knows anybody who owned one. They all had Playstations.

I had one. Imo the reason no one gives a shit about it is because it was a glorified Halo 2 machine and nothing more. That was literally the only game worth playing on XBL at the time.
I can't even remember any other worthwhile exclusives besides Halo

i really liked the original controller for some reason, even if the layout was objectively inferior and my ex literally cried because her hands were too small to use it
outside of halo, amped, whacked, i just don't remember too many games on it. Meanwhile PS2 had a shitload of games and could play ps1 games, i remember thinking I could spend literally all summer just playing san andreas and the final fantasy games

It was a time back then were many had a PC with Internet at home but it was in most places the work computer of there Father and the only thing you could play on this was Pinball and draw retard shit in Paint.

I have one with Avalaunch and 4 controllers still in my living room, have a load of games on the hard drive that can still be played unlike my PS2 discs after years of abuse (i have siblings)
If yours is made before 2004 open it asap, the internal clock transistor in the early models is apparently shitty and it will eventually melt and the acid will ruin the electronics inside, not sure at what date they changed the part, google it

The ps2 was absurdly more popular than the other consoles. It was cheap which made it accessible, groundbreaking games, and it played dvds. The dvd was probably the best part, a lot of peoples first DVD player was a ps2.

I had a GC, PS2, and OG Xbox when they were still new, the GC and PS2 had some of the best games I played at the time, the OG Xbox had a god-awful controller with mostly meh games, they improved upon the Xbox design with their new Xbox 360

XBOX simply lacked almost all the best games of the generation, and only had Halo to make up for it.

Because in comparison to the PS2 there just aren't that many exclusives and if I remember correctly it came out a bit late in that gen. The exclusives it did have though were great and luckily you can get them on the Xbox one. it had the best start up and UI out of any console also.
